All-on-4 in Vietnam
Full-arch tooth replacement on four implants โ the flagship Vietnamese dental tourism procedure. Single-trip 10 to 14 days. Available across all five SmileJet cities at protocol-aligned standards.
What is All-on-4
All-on-4 is a full-arch tooth replacement protocol developed by Nobel Biocare and Dr. Paulo Malรณ in the 1990s. Four titanium implants are placed strategically in the upper or lower jaw โ two vertical at the front, two angled at the back โ to support a full bridge of replacement teeth.
The angled rear implants are the trick. By tilting them, the protocol uses the available bone in a part of the jaw where bone density tends to remain even when teeth have been missing for years. This avoids the need for bone grafting in most cases, and reduces the total number of implants from the 6 to 8 a traditional full-arch case would require to just four.
The result is a fixed bridge of teeth that does not come out, does not move while eating, and looks like natural teeth. Patients walk out of the trip with a working set of teeth โ typically a temporary bridge fitted same-day, replaced with the final bridge at the end of the same trip after gum healing.
Pricing across the five SmileJet cities
| City | Typical price (US$) | |
|---|---|---|
| Hanoi | $6,800 โ 7,400 | See Hanoi โ |
| Ho Chi Minh City | $6,500 โ 7,400 | See Ho Chi Minh City โ |
| Da Nang | $6,500 โ 7,200 | See Da Nang โ |
| Hoi An | $6,800 โ 7,200 | See Hoi An โ |
| Phu Quoc | $6,800 โ 7,400 | See Phu Quoc โ |
Prices are per single arch (upper or lower). Both arches together โ sometimes called "All-on-8" by patients but really two separate All-on-4 procedures โ typically run US$12,500 to US$14,500 when done in the same trip. Acrylic provisional bridges are included; zirconia or titanium-supported permanent bridges are quoted separately.
The All-on-4 trip timeline
All-on-4 is typically done as a single 10-14 day trip rather than the two-trip protocol used for single implants. Here is the standard sequence:
Land in your chosen Vietnamese city, rest, hydrate. Day 2 is the consultation: panoramic X-ray, CBCT 3D scan, treatment plan walkthrough, written quote, materials confirmation.
Implant placement under local anaesthetic with IV sedation in some clinics. The four implants go in over 2-3 hours. A temporary acrylic bridge is fitted the same day so you walk out with working teeth.
Light activity, soft foods, follow-up check at the clinic on day 5 to confirm initial healing and provisional fit.
Rest, light tourism. Day 8 or 9: detailed impressions taken for the permanent bridge. Dental lab fabricates over the next 4-5 days.
Try-in of the permanent zirconia or titanium-supported bridge. Bite adjustments. Final cementation. You leave Vietnam with the final restoration in place.
Some cases need a return trip 6 months later for a final permanent bridge upgrade. This is case-by-case and quoted upfront.
Why Vietnam for All-on-4
Largest absolute saving of any procedure. Single implants save US$3,500-4,000 per implant; All-on-4 saves US$15,000-25,000 per arch over Sydney specialist pricing. For full-mouth (both arches) the saving compounds to US$30,000-45,000.
Single-trip protocol. Most All-on-4 cases close in one 10-14 day trip. You arrive in Vietnam, place the implants, recover for a week with the provisional bridge, fit the permanent bridge, and fly home with a working set of teeth. No need for the three-month healing window between trips that single implants require.
Mature clinical training. All-on-4 is a well-established protocol with two decades of published outcome data. Top Vietnamese implantologists trained in the protocol either domestically through the National Hospital network or internationally. The technique is not experimental at any partner clinic.
Recovery options across five cities. All-on-4 patients spend 10-14 days in-country with most of that time in light recovery. You can choose the city: Hoi An for slow Ancient Town pace, Phu Quoc for resort beach recovery, Da Nang for mid-pace coastal, HCMC for indoor air-conditioned, Hanoi for cool-weather walking.
Materials and brand options
Straumann, Nobel Biocare (the original All-on-4 system), Osstem, Dentium. Top partner clinics stock all four.
Acrylic with metal reinforcement, fitted same-day as surgery. Stays in for 4-6 months while gums heal.
Zirconia (premium, most natural-looking, hardest), titanium-supported acrylic-on-titanium (mid-range, lightest, most repairable), or full porcelain (less common, weight-bearing concerns on a long-span bridge).
Final occlusion is calibrated through several sessions of bite adjustments before cementation. Vietnamese top-tier clinics typically allow 2-3 fine adjustment visits as part of the case price.
