Trip cost added

The full Vietnam path cost

Smile makeovers typically take 5 to 7 days: two preparation visits, a 3 to 4 day lab turnaround, then final fitting. Most patients complete the full treatment in a single trip.

  • Flights (return, Sydney to HCMC or Da Nang): A$600 to A$900
  • Accommodation x 7 nights: A$700 to A$1,500 (mid-range)
  • Meals and ground transport: A$350 to A$700
  • E-visa fee: A$38
  • Trip total roughly A$1,688 to A$3,138, plus procedure at approximately A$4,284 to A$5,508.
  • Total Vietnam path: roughly A$8,000 to A$11,000 vs Sydney equivalent A$12,000 to A$20,000.

Smile makeovers are one of the few aesthetic procedures where patients save meaningfully even on a single-trip basis, because the entire course of treatment is completed within one visit.

Day by day

Smile makeover planning: what happens on each day

Day 1: consultation and digital smile design

Your treating dentist photographs your current smile, scans your bite digitally, and builds a smile design mockup on screen. You see the proposed shade, tooth shape, and gum line before any preparation begins. Adjustments are made at this stage, not after teeth have been prepared. Most patients find this the most reassuring part of the process.

Day 2: preparation and temporaries

Teeth are prepared (0.3-0.7mm of enamel removed for porcelain veneers, or reshaping for no-prep cases). Impressions are taken and sent to the partner laboratory. Temporary resin veneers are fitted the same day so you leave looking and functioning normally, with no exposed teeth during the lab window.

Days 3-5: laboratory fabrication

The permanent veneers are fabricated at the partner dental laboratory (typically 3-4 working days). Patients are free to explore Vietnam during this window. Hoi An Ancient Town, Da Nang beach, or HCMC day trips are the most common choices during the lab window. A soft-food diet is recommended while temporaries are in place.

Day 6-7: bonding and finishing

Temporaries are removed, the permanent veneers are tried in dry for shade and fit approval, then bonded using dental adhesive and a curing light. Bite is adjusted and any contact points refined. Written aftercare notes and a shade record are provided. Most patients fly home on day 7 or 8.

Frequently asked

Smile makeover Vietnam FAQ

How many teeth does a smile makeover cover?
It depends on the package. The Standard package covers 6 teeth (the upper front six visible in a narrow smile). The Classic, the most popular, covers 8 teeth, which includes the upper central incisors, lateral incisors, canines and first premolars. The Premium covers 10 teeth, adding the upper second premolars and composite bonding for any lower corrections. Your treating dentist will assess your smile line at the digital smile design appointment and recommend the right count for your face shape and desired result.
Can a smile makeover be done in a single trip?
Yes. Unlike implant procedures, a smile makeover does not require osseointegration time. The typical schedule is: day 1, consultation and digital smile design; day 2, tooth preparation, shade matching and temporaries fitted; days 3 to 5, lab fabrication while you are free to explore Vietnam; day 6, final veneer try-in and bonding; day 7, final adjustments and whitening. Most patients fly home on day 7 or day 8. The entire clinical course is self-contained within one trip.
What is the difference between a smile makeover and veneers?
Veneers are the core component of a smile makeover, but a smile makeover is a broader treatment plan. A veneer is a thin porcelain shell bonded to the front surface of a single tooth. A smile makeover uses multiple veneers as its foundation and adds whitening, gum reshaping, and composite bonding to create a unified aesthetic result across the full smile frame. You would quote and plan a smile makeover when you want a coordinated result; you would get individual veneers when you have a specific tooth or two to address.
Do I need any pre-treatment before a smile makeover?
Gum health must be sound before veneer preparation. If you have active gum disease or significant calculus buildup, a scale and clean is required first: most clinics include a routine clean in the consultation appointment at no extra charge. Cavities must be treated before veneers are placed over the affected teeth. Patients with bruxism (teeth grinding) are advised to discuss a night guard with their treating dentist, as heavy grinding can shorten veneer lifespan regardless of where the work is done. If you are unsure, send your current X-rays to SmileJet before booking and the team will advise.
How long does a Vietnam smile makeover last?
E.max porcelain veneers placed by an experienced clinician typically last 10 to 15 years under normal conditions, the same lifespan as veneers placed in Australia or the UK. Longevity depends on three factors: the quality of the bonding technique, the patient's bite and habits (grinding shortens lifespan), and home care. Vietnam partner clinics use the same E.max and zirconia veneer materials available internationally. The laboratory turnaround is 3 to 4 days, which is comparable to a premium metropolitan lab in Sydney. Veneer longevity is a function of material and technique, not geography.
