What is All-on-4?
All-on-4 is a full-arch dental implant protocol that replaces an entire upper or lower row of teeth using only 4 implants per arch. The two posterior implants are angled to maximise contact with available bone, which often eliminates the need for sinus lifts or bone grafts that traditional implant cases require.
The result: a permanent, fixed bridge of 12 to 14 teeth supported entirely by the 4 implants. Unlike removable dentures, an All-on-4 bridge is screwed in. You brush and floss it like natural teeth.
The protocol was developed by Dr Paulo Malo in the 1990s and is now one of the most extensively documented full-arch solutions globally. Patients who would have previously needed 6 to 8 implants per arch can be treated with 4, which is faster, cheaper, and avoids most grafting.

Is the temporary bridge a real bridge?

Will I need bone grafting?

Acrylic bridge vs zirconia bridge: which should I pick?
Acrylic-titanium hybrid is the entry option, lighter, easier to repair, around US$2,400 less per arch. Full zirconia is the premium option, more durable and more aesthetic, with a longer life expectancy. Most AU patients with an all-day chewing requirement opt for zirconia.
How long does All-on-4 last?

Can I get both arches done in one trip?

What if my existing teeth need extracting?
Extractions are typically done same-day with the implant placement. The temporary bridge then sits over fresh extraction sites. This is a normal part of All-on-4 protocol and is included in the surgery price at SmileJet partner clinics.
How does All-on-4 compare to All-on-6 or All-on-8?
