Complete Smile Restoration
Full mouth reconstruction in Bali
By SmileJet Editorial Team · Updated May 2026
A comprehensive treatment plan that addresses every problem tooth in your mouth — missing teeth, broken crowns, failing old work, gum disease, and cosmetic imperfections — resolved in a coordinated sequence across two or three Bali visits.
What is full mouth reconstruction?
Full mouth reconstruction is not a single procedure — it is a comprehensive treatment plan that uses multiple dental disciplines in sequence to restore the entire mouth to full function and, wherever possible, improved aesthetics. Where a single implant replaces one missing tooth, full mouth reconstruction addresses the whole picture: multiple missing teeth, extensively decayed or broken teeth, old crowns and bridges that are failing, gum disease that needs stabilising first, and bite problems caused by years of tooth loss or grinding.
In practice, a full mouth reconstruction at a SmileJet Bali partner clinic might combine implants for the missing teeth, E.max or zirconia crowns to cap the damaged teeth, porcelain veneers for the front cosmetic teeth, root canal treatment to save teeth that might otherwise be extracted, gum contouring to even out the gum line, and composite bonding for minor chips. The sequence matters: gum treatment and extractions come first, implants follow, then the final crowns and veneers once everything has healed and the bite is stable.
Because every patient's mouth is different, there is no standard list price for full mouth reconstruction. The indicative pricing on this page gives a sense of component costs. Your actual quote is built from your specific treatment plan — the number of implants, the type of crowns, the extent of any gum work — and is confirmed after a CBCT scan and full clinical assessment on Day 1 of Trip 1. SmileJet coordinates the planning and sequencing across your trips so nothing is done in the wrong order.
Who is full mouth reconstruction for?
Full mouth reconstruction is the right treatment pathway if you recognise yourself in one or more of these situations:
-
Missing several teeth across different parts of the mouth
Not a single-arch full replacement (that is All-on-4 or All-on-6 territory), but multiple missing teeth in different zones that require individual implants or implant-supported bridges worked into the broader treatment plan.
-
Heavily decayed or broken teeth that need crowns
Teeth that have fractured, been heavily filled, root-canal treated, or are structurally compromised by decay need full coverage crowns to function long-term. A reconstruction uses E.max or zirconia crowns to restore these teeth to full strength.
-
Old failing restorations across the mouth
Crowns from the 1990s that are leaking, bridges with failing abutments, amalgam fillings that have cracked the surrounding tooth, or partial dentures you have been managing for years. Reconstruction replaces failing older work systematically before it causes further damage.
-
Wants a complete aesthetic and functional overhaul
You want to fix the structural problems and come out the other side with a smile that looks genuinely good — not just functional. Veneers for the cosmetic front teeth, properly shaped crowns that match in colour and form, and a bite that feels even and stable.
Indicative component pricing
Full mouth reconstruction always requires a custom quote. The table below shows per-component pricing so you can estimate based on your known needs. AUD shown at 1 USD = 1.53 AUD.
| Component | Bali (USD) | Bali (AUD) |
|---|---|---|
| Single implant + crown (Osstem) | $980 | $1,499 |
| Porcelain crown (E.max) | $380 | $581 |
| Zirconia crown | $420 | $643 |
| Porcelain veneer (E.max) | $310 | $474 |
| Composite bonding (per tooth) | $95 | $145 |
| Root canal treatment | $190 | $291 |
| Gum contouring (per arch) | $350 | $536 |
| Full mouth reconstruction (10-14 teeth) | $5,500–$12,000 | $8,415–$18,360 |
Full mouth reconstruction range shown for 10 to 14 teeth. Actual total depends on number of implants, crown types, and extent of gum treatment. A confirmed itemised quote is issued after CBCT review on Day 1.
Planning your reconstruction: how it works
Four steps from first contact to treatment plan in hand.
Online consultation
Submit your case through SmileJet — recent x-rays or OPG, photos of your smile, and a description of the main problems. We share this with two or three matched Bali clinicians who review your case and respond with initial observations and questions within 48 hours.
CBCT scan and clinical photos on Day 1
Your first in-clinic appointment is a full diagnostic session: a CBCT 3D scan of your jaw, intraoral photos, bite assessment, periodontal charting, and a detailed clinical examination. This typically takes 90 minutes and is the foundation of your treatment plan.
Itemised treatment plan and confirmed quote
Within 24 hours of your Day 1 assessment, you receive a written treatment plan listing every procedure, the sequencing logic, the estimated duration of each trip, and a confirmed itemised price. Nothing starts until you have reviewed and approved the plan.
Staged treatment across 2 or 3 trips
Gum treatment and extractions happen first (often Day 2-3 of Trip 1). Implant placement follows (Day 3-5 of Trip 1). After 3 to 6 months of healing, Trip 2 delivers the final crowns, veneers, and any remaining restorative work. Complex cases with large implant counts may need a third trip. Your coordinator manages the full sequence.
A note on trip count: Most full mouth reconstructions follow the standard 2-trip implant protocol. If your reconstruction involves a large number of implants combined with extensive crown and veneer work, a third trip may be necessary to allow proper implant healing before final restorations are placed. Some patients choose to spread the work across 3 trips intentionally — treating one zone per visit — to manage cost and recovery time. Your coordinator helps you structure this in whatever way suits your schedule.

Full mouth reconstruction FAQ
How much does full mouth reconstruction cost in Bali?
A typical 10 to 14 tooth reconstruction at SmileJet partner clinics ranges from US$5,500 to US$12,000 (~A$8,415 to A$18,360), depending on the combination of implants, crowns, and other procedures. The equivalent work in Sydney typically runs A$25,000 to A$60,000 or more. Your confirmed itemised quote is issued after a CBCT scan and full clinical review on Day 1 of Trip 1.
How many trips does full mouth reconstruction take?
Most reconstructions require 2 trips. Complex cases combining multiple implants with extensive crown work may need 3 trips to allow proper implant healing before final restorations are placed. Some patients deliberately spread the work across 3 trips to manage the cost over time. Your SmileJet coordinator plans the trip structure based on your confirmed treatment plan.
What is the difference between full mouth reconstruction and a smile makeover?
Full mouth reconstruction addresses structural and functional problems: missing teeth, severely damaged teeth, failing old restorations, bite issues. It typically involves implants, crowns, root canals, and gum treatment. A smile makeover is cosmetic: the teeth are structurally sound but aesthetically imperfect, and the work (veneers, whitening, bonding) is purely cosmetic.
Can I get a quote before I travel?
Yes. Send us recent x-rays or an OPG (panoramic x-ray) and photos, and our Bali clinicians will issue an indicative itemised quote within 48 hours. The confirmed quote is issued after your CBCT scan on Day 1. The indicative and confirmed figures are typically within 10 to 15% of each other.
Do I need to see my Australian dentist first?
Not required, but useful. A recent OPG from your Australian dentist speeds up the pre-trip assessment significantly and often allows a more accurate indicative quote. If you have not seen an Australian dentist recently, the full diagnostic is done on Day 1 in Bali.
What if I need gum disease treatment before implants?
Gum disease (periodontitis) must be treated and stable before implants are placed. At SmileJet partner clinics, gum treatment (deep cleaning and scaling) is done in the first 1 to 2 days of Trip 1. If the disease is severe, implant placement may be deferred to a separate visit 8 to 12 weeks later. We identify this from your pre-trip records and plan accordingly.
Will all the work look consistent and match?
Yes. The treatment plan includes a shade selection and tooth-form design session so that all crowns, veneers, and implant crowns are fabricated to match. This is a standard part of the reconstruction planning process at our partner clinics. You review the shape and shade before anything is permanently cemented.
What aftercare do I need when I return to Australia?
Your Bali clinician provides a full written care plan and a complete treatment record to share with your Australian dentist. SmileJet provides 12 months of WhatsApp aftercare support. Annual check-ups and hygiene visits at your Australian dentist are standard maintenance once you are home.
