  • Advanced Implant Prosthetics Certificate, Spear Education, Scottsdale, AZ, 2009

Dr. Robert Marchetti is a Harvard-trained restorative dentist and implant clinician based in Boston with 26 years of experience delivering comprehensive, full-mouth restorative care. His practice focuses on complex treatment planning that integrates implant surgery, fixed prosthodontics, occlusal rehabilitation, and cosmetic dentistry into cohesive, long-lasting treatment outcomes.

Dr. Marchetti's academic path began with a biomedical engineering degree from Boston University, which gave him an analytical foundation that distinguishes his approach to treatment planning and materials science. He then earned his DMD at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, followed by a General Practice Residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he gained intensive hospital-based training in medically complex patients, trauma management, and interdisciplinary case coordination.

Rather than pursuing a single specialty, Dr. Marchetti followed the comprehensive restorative dentistry track, completing advanced training at both the Pankey Institute and Spear Education — two of the most respected postgraduate programs in the US for complex treatment planning and interdisciplinary restorative care. He earned his FAGD from the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction held by fewer than 7% of US general dentists, and his FICOI recognizing advanced competence in implant placement and restoration.

Over his career, Dr. Marchetti has completed more than 3,200 full-mouth rehabilitation cases and placed over 6,000 dental implants. He founded Marchetti Dental Group in Boston's Back Bay in 2002, which now operates as a multi-provider comprehensive care practice with a dedicated in-house ceramics lab. His engineering background has made him an early adopter of digital workflows, and his practice has been fully digital since 2014, using intraoral scanning, digital design, and in-office milling for same-day restorations.

Academically, Dr. Marchetti served as a Part-Time Clinical Instructor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine from 2003 to 2013 and has been a visiting faculty member at the Spear Education campus since 2015. He has published 19 peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, the Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA), and Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry, with a research focus on long-term outcomes of implant-supported fixed bridges and the clinical performance of monolithic zirconia restorations. He has delivered over 50 continuing education lectures nationally.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). On SmileJet's Board of Excellence, Dr. Marchetti serves as the lead advisor on restorative quality standards, overseeing crown and bridge evaluation criteria, dental lab quality benchmarking, material selection guidelines, and comprehensive treatment planning review protocols across all partner clinics.

She is nationally recognized for her leadership in integrating CAD/CAM technology, digital smile design, and 3D printing into everyday prosthodontic workflows.

Born in Chicago to a Filipino-American family, Dr. Reyes-Sullivan developed her interest in dentistry through community health outreach programs during her undergraduate years at Northwestern. She earned her DDS at the University of Illinois at Chicago and then completed her prosthodontic residency at Indiana University, one of the oldest and most rigorous prosthodontic programs in the country. Her master's thesis investigated the marginal fit accuracy of CAD/CAM-fabricated zirconia frameworks compared to traditional cast metal substructures, research that would foreshadow her career-long focus on digital prosthodontics.

After earning board certification from the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2004, Dr. Reyes-Sullivan established her private practice on Chicago's Michigan Avenue, specializing in full-mouth reconstruction, implant-supported overdentures, and complex aesthetic rehabilitations. In 2010, she completed a digital dentistry fellowship at the University of Zurich's Center for Dental Medicine, studying under pioneers of the European digital prosthodontics movement. This experience positioned her as one of the earliest US prosthodontists to implement a fully digital clinical and laboratory workflow, from intraoral scanning through chairside milling and 3D-printed provisional restorations.

Over her career, she has completed more than 3,800 major prosthodontic cases, including over 600 full-arch implant-supported rehabilitations and 200 maxillofacial prosthetic cases for patients with congenital defects or post-oncology surgical deficits. She has served as an Associate Professor of Prosthodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry since 2008, where she directs the digital prosthodontics curriculum and co-founded the school's Digital Dentistry Research Lab.

Dr. Reyes-Sullivan has published 31 peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, the International Journal of Prosthodontics, the Journal of Dental Research, and the Journal of Prosthodontics. She has authored two textbook chapters on digital impression systems and 3D printing in prosthodontics. Her current research examines the accuracy and efficiency of fully digital workflows for full-arch implant prostheses and the integration of artificial intelligence into shade matching and tooth morphology design.

She holds memberships in the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Academy of Prosthodontics, the Digital Dentistry Society, and the International Association for Dental Research (IADR). On SmileJet's Board of Excellence, Dr. Reyes-Sullivan leads the digital dentistry and prosthodontic standards division. She is responsible for evaluating partner clinic lab workflows, digital technology adoption, veneer and crown fabrication quality, and establishing prosthodontic outcome scoring metrics across SmileJet's clinic network.
