BKK1 Hotels
Hotels in BKK1 (Boeung Keng Kang), Phnom Penh
By SmileJet Editorial Team · Updated May 2026
The modern embassy and dining district. The densest concentration of mid-range hotels, Western-style cafes, and supermarkets in Phnom Penh. Three of our six SmileJet-verified clinics are based here. The convenience choice for most patients.
About BKK1
BKK1 (short for "Boeung Keng Kang 1") is Phnom Penh\'s most internationalised neighbourhood. Around Street 51, Street 240, and Street 278 you find a mix of Khmer cafes, Western brunch spots, supermarkets, and the city\'s densest concentration of mid-range hotels. The Australian, French, and several other major embassies are based here.
For dental tourism patients, BKK1 is the convenience option. If you want familiar Western dining options for soft-food recovery (avocado toast, smoothie bowls, pasta), reliable supermarkets stocking pharmacy items, and walking-distance proximity between hotel and clinic, BKK1 is the right call.
SmileWorld Dental Cambodia, Dr. Sopha Dental Clinic, and Roomchang Dental Hospital are all based in BKK1. Each is within 5 to 10 minutes walk of any of the recommended hotels below.
Recommended hotels
Aquarius Hotel
Mid-range, ~US$60/night
The reliable BKK1 standard. Central location, rooftop pool, walking distance to all three BKK1 clinics, very strong value-for-money. Most SmileJet patients staying in BKK1 end up here. Recommended as the default unless something specific drives a different choice.
Anik Boutique Hotel
Mid-range, ~US$70/night
Quieter side-street boutique with a small rooftop pool. Better-than-average breakfast and a slightly more upmarket feel than Aquarius. Particularly suited to solo or couples patients on longer (10+ day) stays.
Rosewood Phnom Penh
Luxury, ~US$280/night
Top-tier luxury at the top of Vattanac Capital Tower. Panoramic city views, full-service spa, exceptional restaurants. The right call for special-occasion trips or for patients who want the highest possible service standard during a complex multi-trip case.
