Cambodia e-Visa and visa-on-arrival

By SmileJet Editorial Team · Updated May 2026

Australian, New Zealand, American, British, and Canadian passport holders need a visa to enter Cambodia. Two routes are available: e-Visa online (recommended) or visa-on-arrival at PNH.

Two visa options

You receive
PDF visa to print and present at immigration

Apply at least 2 weeks before travel to allow buffer. Print 2 copies (one for your records).

Visa-on-arrival (VOA)

Cost
US$30 cash (USD only, clean undamaged notes)

30 days, single-entry
Processing
15 to 30 minutes at PNH on arrival
Apply via
On-arrival counter at Phnom Penh International

Faster if you forget to apply ahead, but ties up your first 30 minutes at the airport. Bring USD cash in clean notes; damaged or marked notes are sometimes refused.

e-Visa step-by-step

  1. 1 Open the official Cambodia e-Visa portal (evisa.gov.kh). Beware of unofficial third-party sites that charge mark-ups; the official site is the cheapest and only requires a US$36 payment.
  2. 2 Complete the application form: passport details, dates of travel, port of entry (Phnom Penh International).
  3. 3 Upload your passport bio page scan (clear, all four corners visible) and one recent passport-style photo (white background, neutral expression).
  4. 4 Pay US$36 with a Visa or Mastercard. Save the receipt.
  5. 5 Wait 3 to 5 working days. Approval arrives by email as a PDF visa.
  6. 6 Print 2 copies of the PDF visa. Keep one with you and one in your luggage as backup.
  7. 7 Present the printed e-Visa with your passport at PNH immigration on arrival.

Passport and entry requirements

Your passport must have at least 6 months remaining validity from the date of entry into Cambodia, and at least 2 blank pages for the visa sticker (visa-on-arrival) or entry stamp (e-Visa).

Cambodia does not require yellow fever vaccination unless you are arriving from a country where yellow fever is endemic. Routine vaccinations should be up to date. Speak to a travel doctor 4 to 6 weeks before travel for personalised advice.

Onward travel proof is occasionally requested at the immigration counter — a return or onward flight ticket is sufficient. Save a PDF on your phone in case you are asked.

Plan your Phnom Penh trip

Confirm your treatment plan and clinic before you apply for the visa, so the dates align with your booked clinical appointments.
