The honest assessment

Bangkok is the established dental tourism heavyweight in Southeast Asia. It has the deepest clinic infrastructure, the strongest English at top clinics, and the most direct flight options. Top-tier Bangkok dental hospitals (Bumrungrad, BIDH) are extraordinary by any global benchmark.

But Bangkok pricing reflects that dominance. Single implants at top Bangkok clinics start around US$1,000 and can reach US$1,400; All-on-4 typically starts at US$8,500 and can exceed US$11,000. Phnom Penh's US$780 / US$6,200 starting points are a 20 to 30% lower entry, and the clinical components are the same global brands.

The trade-off in Phnom Penh is the smaller clinic network (6 featured vs Bangkok's deep bench), slightly less English depth, and one-stop flights instead of direct from Sydney. The trade-off is real but priced into the savings — for a treatment-led decision, Phnom Penh is meaningfully cheaper without compromising on materials or process.

SmileJet does not currently list Bangkok clinics. We focus on Vietnam and Cambodia where our verification footprint is densest.
