Quick summary

Phu Quoc coordination support at a glance

  • SmileJet treatment coordination support means we liaise with your listed Phu Quoc partner clinic to help organise a clinical review and any follow-up care. It is not a warranty or insurance product: no promised remedy, no fixed coverage window, no reimbursement.
  • For an implant plus crown procedure, SmileJet can help organise a review of both the implant fixture or abutment and the crown component with the treating clinic; the clinic decides whether follow-up care is appropriate and how it is priced.
  • Many issues can be reviewed remotely from photos and clinical records, with no return trip needed. If in-person work is required, the treating Phu Quoc partner clinic assesses and prices it; SmileJet does not provide no-charge re-treatment or reimburse costs.
  • Because Phu Quoc has visa-free SEZ entry, any return visit requires no additional visa application or fee: the logistic is identical to your first trip. Travel, flights, and accommodation for a return trip are the patient's responsibility.
  • Implant-manufacturer warranties (Straumann lifetime, Nobel Biocare lifetime, Osstem 10 years) are the manufacturer's, on their own separate terms, and are not a SmileJet warranty.
  • Every clinical and pricing decision rests with the treating partner clinic. SmileJet coordinates communication and scheduling; it does not diagnose, decide remedies, waive charges, or reimburse.

Where coordination helps

Coordination support by treatment

Dental implants

If the implant fixture or abutment shows signs of trouble, SmileJet helps you raise it with the treating Phu Quoc partner clinic and organise a clinical review. Any assessment, remedy, and its price are the clinic's decision.

Porcelain veneers

If a veneer cracks, delaminates, or debonds under normal biting forces, SmileJet helps organise a review with the treating clinic. Whether it is re-cemented or remade, and on what terms, is the clinic's clinical and commercial decision.

Island-specific note on return visits

If a return visit to Phu Quoc is needed for follow-up care, visa-free entry applies again: no additional visa application or fee. Your return trip to PQC is logistically identical to your first. Travel and accommodation for the trip are the patient\'s responsibility, and any follow-up treatment is priced by the treating partner clinic.

How to raise an issue

How coordination works, step by step

A four-step process designed so most issues can be reviewed without an unplanned trip back to Vietnam.

Step 1
Contact SmileJet

Email or Messenger with photos, treatment date, and clinic name. We respond within 48 hours.

Step 2
Remote review

SmileJet liaises with the Phu Quoc partner clinic to organise a remote review. Many issues are assessed and advised on without a return trip.

Step 3
Follow-up care

If in-person work is needed, the treating Phu Quoc partner clinic assesses and prices any follow-up care. SmileJet helps with scheduling; the clinic makes every clinical and pricing decision.

Step 4
If return is not possible

SmileJet can help you find a local dentist for an in-person assessment and pass clinical context from the treating partner clinic. Any local treatment is arranged and paid directly with that dentist.

The limits

What coordination support does not do

Not a warranty or insurance

Coordination support is a service, not a warranty or insurance product. There is no promised remedy, no fixed coverage window, no no-charge re-treatment, and no reimbursement of treatment, travel, accommodation, or any cost.

Biological failure

Osseointegration failure (around a 3 to 5% rate) is biological, not structural. The treating clinic assesses and discusses options; any remedy and its price are the clinic's decision.

Issues unrelated to the original treatment

Bruxism damage without a prescribed night guard, sea or pool exposure during the restricted healing window (first 48 to 72 hours, specified in post-op instructions), and normal wear are not treatment-related issues coordination support helps with.

Trauma

Damage from physical injury is outside what coordination support assesses. Check your travel insurance dental emergency clause.

Third-party modifications

If treatment is modified by a non-SmileJet clinic without authorisation, the treating partner clinic may no longer be able to assess that component against its original work, which limits what coordination can achieve.

Versus home dental cover

How coordination support sits alongside at-home cover

Understanding what SmileJet coordination support is, relative to the cover available at home, helps set expectations before treatment. Dental insurance in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK typically does not cover overseas dental treatment. SmileJet coordination support is a service, not insurance or a warranty: it helps you liaise with the treating partner clinic and organise a review, but it does not promise a remedy or reimburse costs.

Australian health fund cover

Australian private health funds (Medibank, Bupa, HCF, NIB) do not cover dental treatment performed outside Australia. Major dental extras cover is for Australian-registered dentists only. SmileJet coordination support helps you liaise with your Phu Quoc partner clinic; it is not insurance and is separate from your health fund.

New Zealand dental cover

ACC covers dental injury from accidents in New Zealand only. Routine dental and overseas dental treatment is not covered by ACC or standard NZ health insurance. SmileJet coordination support helps you organise a clinical review of Phu Quoc treatment with the treating clinic.

UK private dental plans

UK dental capitation plans (Denplan, DPAS) and NHS dentistry cover UK-registered practitioners only. Overseas dental treatment is outside scope. SmileJet coordination support helps you liaise with the Phu Quoc partner clinic and is separate from your UK dental plan; it is not a warranty.

Travel insurance dental emergency clause

Many travel insurance policies include a dental emergency benefit, typically covering pain relief or emergency extraction arising from a sudden oral injury during travel. This is distinct from SmileJet coordination support, which is a liaison service and not an insurance product. Both can apply in different scenarios.

What you receive

Treatment coordination documentation

Treatment record document

Issued at your final Phu Quoc appointment in English, signed by the treating dentist, with your name and treatment details. This is a written record of the work performed, not a warranty or a promise of any remedy. SmileJet holds an independent copy. If you misplace yours, contact SmileJet for a reissue.

Implant passport for implant cases

Implant patients receive an implant passport with the implant brand (Osstem, Straumann, or Dentium), model, batch number, and torque applied at placement. This document is required if your home dentist needs to assess the implant or if you encounter the implant in any future dental work. Keep it with your other dental records.

Shade and material prescription for cosmetic work

Veneer and crown patients receive a written shade prescription (Vita Classic or Vita 3D-Master reference) and material specification (E.max, zirconia, or other) at treatment completion. If a replacement or matching restoration is ever needed at home, this document allows your home dentist to match the specifications without guesswork.

X-rays taken during treatment

Post-procedure digital X-rays (periapical for implant, bitewing for crowns and RCT) are emailed to you or provided on USB. These images serve as a baseline for future home dentist reviews and are required evidence in any claim requiring radiographic comparison with a pre-treatment or mid-treatment image.

How do I raise a treatment issue from outside Vietnam?
Email SmileJet with your name, treatment date, clinic name, a description of the issue, and photos if possible. SmileJet acknowledges within 24 business hours and helps organise a review with the Phu Quoc partner clinic, typically within 48 hours. For urgent issues involving pain or active complications, use the Messenger contact in your pre-trip briefing for same-day response. This is coordination support, not a guarantee claim: SmileJet liaises with the treating clinic, which makes every clinical and pricing decision.
Can coordination support cover both the implant and the crown?
Coordination support is not treatment-specific cover. For an implant plus crown procedure, SmileJet can help organise a clinical review of both the implant fixture or abutment and the crown component with the treating partner clinic. Whether any follow-up work is appropriate, and how it is priced, is decided by the clinic. SmileJet does not promise a remedy, set a fixed coverage window, or provide no-charge re-treatment or reimbursement.
Do I need to return to Phu Quoc for follow-up care?
Not necessarily. Many issues can be reviewed remotely: the clinic reviews photos and clinical documentation and advises on next steps without a return trip. If in-person work is required, the clinic confirms this after a remote review. Phu Quoc's visa-free SEZ entry means the return logistic is identical to your original trip. Any follow-up treatment is arranged and priced by the treating partner clinic, and travel is the patient's responsibility.
Are implant manufacturer warranties separate from SmileJet coordination support?
Yes. Implant-manufacturer warranties (Straumann lifetime, Nobel Biocare lifetime, Osstem 10 years) run independently on their own terms and are the manufacturer's, not SmileJet's. SmileJet does not issue or extend any warranty. Where a manufacturer warranty applies, SmileJet can help you and the treating partner clinic identify it during a clinical review, and you contact the manufacturer directly for any manufacturer claim.
