The doctor is very good and has a good hand. I had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted (let it hurt once and that's it) and the next day it was healed and no more pain. The staff were all enthusiastic and friendly. Modern equipment. I was afraid of Covid so I didn't go to the hospital but came to the clinic, the doctors and nurses followed the correct standards and were very safe. Because I made an…

appointment in advance, I didn't have to wait long, filled out a medical declaration, took an X-ray and consulted, then had 4 teeth extracted in only 1 hour and 30 minutes. Thank you, doctor and nurses at the clinic!
Enthusiastic, clean and very professional advice. That was my first impression when I came here for examination.
I am completely satisfied with the quality of the doctor's skills and the service attitude of the staff and doctor. I had my wisdom tooth extracted, and I waited an hour because I didn't make an appointment beforehand, but the procedure and X-rays were done in just an hour. I will continue to bring my children, grandchildren, and family here.
I had my wisdom tooth extracted here and have recommended it to many friends because I was very satisfied from the examination, the extraction, and after the procedure. If there were 10 stars, I would vote for Dr. Vuong because the extraction was completely painless!
The dentist was incredibly dedicated and gentle; thank you Ocean Dental Clinic for giving me the perfect smile I always had.
Thank you, Dr. Hao, for making my toothache go away. I can eat and chew well now without pain.

About
What this clinic actually does.
Ocean Dental Vietnam (Nha Khoa Dai Duong) is a distinctive dental clinic located at 200 Hoang Quoc Viet Street in Co Nhue 1 Ward, Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi. Founded and led by Master's degree holder and dental specialist Dr. Vo Thi Minh Hao, the clinic has carved out a unique identity in Hanoi's dental market as the pioneer and only clinic in Vietnam currently applying Japan's 8020 Tooth Preservation Program.
The 8020 Program is a Japanese public health initiative built on the goal of helping patients retain at least 20 of their natural teeth by the age of 80. This philosophy of active tooth preservation, preventive care, and conservative treatment underpins everything the clinic does, distinguishing it from practices that lean more heavily on aggressive or replacement-focused interventions. For patients who want to protect their natural dentition for as long as possible, Ocean Dental Vietnam's approach offers a compelling and evidence-based alternative.

Dr. Vo Thi Minh Hao's academic background and commitment to the 8020 methodology provide the clinical foundation for the practice. Her leadership ensures that the team consistently applies conservative, preservation-first thinking across all aspects of patient care, from routine hygiene through to complex restorative and implant work.
Ocean Dental Vietnam provides a comprehensive range of dental services including cosmetic orthodontics using braces and clear aligner systems, dental implants for patients with missing teeth, general dentistry covering examinations, fillings, and hygiene appointments, and the 8020 tooth preservation program delivered through structured preventive and restorative protocols. The clinic's open hours are Monday through Sunday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, providing broad scheduling flexibility for patients with varied availability.
Dental implants at Ocean Dental Vietnam are approached through the lens of the preservation philosophy. Where natural teeth can be saved, the team prioritizes conservative options. Where implant placement is indicated, procedures are carried out with precision and care to achieve long-lasting, natural-looking results. The clinic's implant services are supported by proper pre-surgical planning and post-operative follow-up to ensure success over the long term.
Orthodontic services cover both fixed and removable options. Cosmetic orthodontics is an area of focus, with clear aligner systems and aesthetic bracket options available for patients who want to straighten their teeth with minimal visual impact. The team's orthodontic approach aligns with the preservation philosophy, seeking to improve alignment in ways that also support long-term dental health and stability.
The clinic's unique positioning around the 8020 Program makes it particularly appealing to patients who are concerned about long-term oral health and want a dental provider that thinks beyond immediate procedure outcomes to plan for decades of dental wellness.
Hanoi's dental tourism scene continues to grow, and Ocean Dental Vietnam offers an unusual and principled point of difference for international patients who share the clinic's values around preservation and prevention. The city's competitive pricing, strong clinical infrastructure, and rich cultural attractions make Hanoi an increasingly popular choice for dental travel from Australia, Europe, and across Asia.
International patients interested in Ocean Dental Vietnam's approach are encouraged to reach out before traveling to arrange a consultation with Dr. Vo Thi Minh Hao's team, discuss the 8020 Program and other treatment options, and plan their appointment schedule to align with their visit to Hanoi.

Questions
What people ask this clinic.
What treatments does Ocean Dental Vietnam offer?
Ocean Dental Vietnam in Hanoi covers a broad range of dental services including dental implants, orthodontics (traditional braces and Invisalign-style clear aligners), porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, root canal therapy, wisdom tooth extractions, scaling and tartar removal, and general check-ups. The clinic is also Hanoi's pioneer in Japan's 8020 tooth preservation program, which focuses on keeping as many natural teeth as possible into old age. Whether you need a single filling or a full smile makeover, the team handles it in-house.
How much can I save on dental work in Hanoi compared to back home?
Dental treatment in Hanoi typically costs 60-75% less than in Australia, the UK, or the US. A single dental implant that runs AUD 4,500-6,000 at home can be done in Hanoi for roughly USD 700-1,200 all-in. Porcelain veneers average USD 200-400 per tooth compared to AUD 1,500-2,500 per tooth in Australia. Orthodontic braces treatments run USD 1,500-3,000 for a full course, a fraction of comparable Western prices. Even accounting for flights and accommodation, most patients save several thousand dollars on larger treatment plans.
Is Ocean Dental Vietnam accredited or certified?
Ocean Dental Vietnam operates under the licensing requirements of Vietnam's Ministry of Health, which sets standards for equipment sterilization, practitioner qualifications, and facility safety. The clinic is led by experienced dentists who hold credentials from Vietnamese dental faculties, including at least one lecturer affiliated with the National Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology in Hanoi. While the clinic does not currently list international accreditations such as JCI, its equipment and infection-control protocols align with modern clinical standards. Patients are encouraged to request copies of individual dentist credentials during their initial consultation.
Can the team communicate in English with international patients?
The clinic has experience with international visitors, as reviews note foreign patients being consulted and treated comfortably. Basic to intermediate English is available at the front desk and with some dentists. For more complex treatment discussions, it is advisable to prepare a written summary of your dental history or use a translation app. SmileJet can also help coordinate communication before your visit. Staff follow up with patients after procedures, including international visitors, to check on recovery.
How many days should I plan for a dental trip to Hanoi?
The number of days depends on your treatment. A single extraction or cleaning can be done in one day. Veneers and crowns typically require two visits spread over 5-7 days, allowing time for fabrication in the lab. Implants follow a two-stage process: the implant is placed on day one, and the crown is fitted several months later after osseointegration. For a veneer or crown trip, budget at least 7 days to allow for consultation, preparation, lab turnaround, and fitting. Many patients combine treatment with sightseeing in Hanoi's Old Quarter.
What implant brands does Ocean Dental Vietnam use?
The clinic offers dental implants and works with reputable implant systems appropriate for each patient's bone density and budget. Specific brand details are best confirmed during your consultation, as the clinic tailors implant selection to individual cases. Common systems used by Hanoi clinics at this level include Korean brands such as Osstem and MegaGen, as well as European options for patients who prefer them. Ocean Dental Vietnam's dentists will explain the options, associated costs, and warranty coverage for the implant body during your initial assessment.
Can veneers and implants be completed in a single trip?
Veneers can almost always be completed in one trip. After a consultation and tooth preparation, the lab produces your veneers within 3-5 working days, and the final fitting takes place before you leave. Implants work differently: the titanium post is placed surgically and then needs 3-6 months to fuse with the jawbone before the crown can be attached. Most international patients handle implants over two separate trips. Some clinics offer same-day or immediate-loading implants for suitable candidates, so discuss your timeline with the dentist at Ocean Dental Vietnam and they can advise whether this option is appropriate for your case.
What equipment and technology does the clinic use?
Ocean Dental Vietnam is equipped with modern dental technology including digital X-ray systems that reduce radiation exposure compared to traditional film X-rays. Multiple patient reviews highlight the clinic's modern, well-maintained facilities and praise the clean and comfortable treatment environment. The clinic conducts X-rays and treatment planning consultations on-site before procedures begin, so patients can review their case visually. Sterilization follows standard Vietnamese Ministry of Health protocols, and the treatment rooms are set up to handle everything from routine cleanings to surgical extractions and implant placement.
What aftercare and remote follow-up does Ocean Dental Vietnam provide?
Ocean Dental Vietnam takes aftercare seriously. Several patient reviews mention that staff proactively messaged or called them after procedures to check on their recovery, which is above average for a private dental clinic. For orthodontic patients, the team sends regular check-in messages between appointments. International patients who return home after treatment can expect the clinic to respond to queries via messaging. For more complex ongoing concerns, the team can review photos or descriptions remotely and advise whether an in-person visit to a local dentist is needed. Always ask for written care instructions and any relevant X-rays or records before you leave.
How do I book an appointment or request a quote?
The easiest way to get started is through your SmileJet profile page for Ocean Dental Vietnam, where you can submit a treatment inquiry and receive a cost estimate before you commit to travel. Alternatively, the clinic accepts appointment bookings via their website. It is recommended to book in advance, as the clinic is busy and walk-in wait times can be longer. For your first contact, prepare a brief summary of the treatment you need, any recent X-rays you have, and your preferred travel dates. The team responds promptly and can guide you through the consultation and planning process.
