re arriving was good and the receptionists were friendly. However, once I saw the doctor (Zavier), there was no proper evaluation at all. No 3D scan, no manual bone check, no questions about how long the tooth was missing, and no explanation of risks. They proceeded directly with placing the implant and told me to come back in 6 months for the crown. Second Visit When I returned to get the crown, the implant came out during placement. There was no real explanation, just “it didn’t hold.” They then suggested a bone graft. Had they done even a basic evaluation during the first visit, they would have known there wasn’t enough bone. During this visit, they reopened my gum, cleaned the area, placed another implant, and spread bone material over it. When finished, they didn’t prescribe pain medication. I had to ask. The receptionist brought back a prescription with two medications but gave no warning not to take them together. I already have arrhythmia, and after taking them, I experienced severe heart palpitations. Later I learned from online research these medications should not be mixed and can be dangerous. Nothing on the prescription warned me. They told me to “enjoy my vacation,” but the entire trip was spent in pain, chewing on one side, on painkillers, and stressed about whether it would fail again. There was no vacation. Third Visit (One Year Later) This time I was assigned a different doctor (Jonathan), who also barely communicated. He commented that the implant was extremely deep and appeared unsure about how to proceed. During the procedure, he realized he didn’t have an abutment long enough to reach the implant. After about 1.5 hours of digging into the bone and trying different parts, he had to arrange for the correct part to be shipped. They were clearly unprepared. Six days later, they placed the crown. The color was completely off (very white), but I just wanted a tooth did not care about the looks, so I accepted it just hoping it would work. Now (Back in Canada) After only 3 weeks, the implant is already moving. My local dentist found that the abutment screw is too large for the implant and that the components do not match properly. Shockingly, my dentist in Canada was able to order the correct abutment even though they don’t normally use this implant brand—while Cancun Dental Care, who chose the system, didn’t have the correct parts. The crown needs to be redone. So far, this has cost me around $7,000. Conclusion I strongly warn people about doing dental implants abroad, especially when the tooth has been missing for years or when bone grafting is involved. These treatments require proper evaluation, multiple visits, and reliable follow-up. When something goes wrong abroad, you are left alone to deal with the consequences. What was supposed to be a two-trip treatment turned into three trips, over a year of waiting, ongoing issues, and still no stable solution. I requested a partial refund, to cover $2,500 of additional costs I now face in Canada because I need a new crown for the new abutment. Since then, I’ve only received delays: “two weeks to review,” then one week, then being told the manager is not in the office. There has been no resolution or accountability.

l and build up on a tooth my US dentist wanted to pull. This was all done in 2 visits over 4 days. It was all painless and quite thorough. I cannot recommend Dr Jonathan enough. I should also note that Dr Jasmine repaired a broken veneer for me over the summer and Dr Sophia place a crown for my wife. I recommend a dental vacation to Cancun. You’ll save money, relax a bit on the beach and be in good hands.

Wonderful experience. I came for an entire set of crowns. Ended up needing 5 root canals that I was unaware of. The specialist they brought in, Dr. Luisa, was AMAZING. while there they convinced us to do the bottom as well which he did need it. The plan was to do everything in 1 day but they had a part break so we had to wait a day or 2 to come back and do the bottom. The first day they had over sedated my husband and he had a very difficult time waking up. The 2nd time they did a lot less and that went smoother. Everything seemed good till the day we were scheduled to go home. My husband hardly got any sleep that night and was in pain and could taste that there was an infection. So I reached out and they got my husband back in right away and made some adjustments and gave more pain meds and antibiotics to take home. Everything seemed decent for the flight home to Canada. But day 2 being home he all of a sudden had very severe pain that just kept getting worse so reached out to our local dentist and were told to go to the hospital which we did. He got diagnosed with Ludwig’s angina( you can Google that) which could have been deadly. Then our amazing dentist kept in touch with us and set us up with an oral surgeon to have it looked at and the bottom denture was screwed in so they could get a good look. But could tell that something was very wrong. So I reached out to the clinic and I’m thankful that staff were so willing to get us all his implant info so the local surgeon could get that denture off in the next few days. Meanwhile that night we ended up at the hospital again. His tongue was swollen into a ball and they were ready to intubate him but thankfully they were able to get the swelling down in time. After that we were able to see the local oral surgeon again and they had all the tools ready to take out the denture and they were shocked and what they found. Had we waited a few more days he would have had a jaw left due to the infection they found and it was due to they way the denture was placed that there was no way for any breathing room let alone clean out food. The more test they ran over the next few weeks they found out that nothing was done properly, 1 implants had even been placed in the bone and some were crooked, at the end only 1 implant would have been usable out of the 8. So healing had to happen over many months and then they all had to come out and we have to redo everything. In the mean time we sent X-ray results and pictures to the clinic and we got accused of our local surgeon lying to us and just wanting our money. We don’t know what happened at the clinic if it was lack of experience or things went wrong that they are not owning up to. But we started an email trail asking for our money back and after much back and forth they agreed to pay us back about half. Then the ghosted us and haven’t received a dime. The surgery took place in December 2024. Please don’t go to this clinic for and type of dental surgery.

forth from my hotel to the office for my follow-up appointments. The location is perfect because it's located in Hotel Zona inside of a mall. The facility was nice, well kept and they had high-tech appliances. Before arriving, Alex did a great job of looking over my x-rays/treatment plan that I received from my general dentist in the U.S. and explained my treatment plan thoroughly. I received a dental bridge and a crown and had three old cavities restored. I will go back again to get my implants done and any other major restorations needed in the future!

choose to go ahead. I went home and the communication was amazing! I ended up booking 6 implants and some other work done. I am now back and just had all my implants in. The staff knowing I was afraid, went above and beyond to make me comfortable. Every single staff including the anesthesia Dr are outstanding at there job and making you feel so safe and comfortable. I have never looked forward to going to a dentist and im excited to come back and finish the work. I will even be bringing my kids in for their check up and cleanings while here next time. Im going to have a full set of teeth for the first time in 20 yrs because they are so great.
