What dental work costs in Cuenca, Ecuador

The full published price list for dental treatment in Cuenca, in US dollars, with what each figure does and does not cover.

Ecuador uses the US dollar as its national currency. That is unusual among dental travel destinations and it removes a whole category of confusion: there is no conversion, no exchange rate moving between quote and payment, and no rounding. The number below is the number.

This is the complete published fee list at the clinic we list in Cuenca.

How to read it.

Three things are worth knowing before you compare these against a quote at home.

An implant is not a tooth. The $600 to $750 implant fee covers the titanium post only. The crown that goes on top is a separate line at $600 to $750. A finished replacement tooth is both. This is the single most common misreading of dental price lists anywhere, and it is not specific to Ecuador.

Ranges mean something. Root canal treatment runs $150 to $300 because a front tooth has one canal and a molar often has three or four. Wisdom tooth extraction runs $80 to $150 because a simple removal and a surgical one are different operations. The spread is not vagueness.

Some fees are per tooth. Composite veneers at $100 to $150 are priced per tooth, so a front six case is six times that. Denture fees are usually per arch.

What is not on the list.

X-rays, scans, bone grafts, sinus lifts and extractions before implant placement are not in these figures. Neither are retainers after orthodontics. Ask for a written breakdown that names them, because the gap between a headline fee and a final bill is almost always one of these.

What it costs to get there.

Cuenca has its own airport, Mariscal Lamar (CUE), handling domestic flights. Most international patients arrive through Guayaquil (GYE) or Quito (UIO) and connect. Guayaquil is roughly four hours away by road. Flights and accommodation are a real part of the total and they are not in the table above.

Where these numbers come from.

Every figure on this page is the fee published by INNOVATIVE DENTAL, the one clinic we list in Cuenca. It is a featured partner, which describes a selection process and a commercial relationship, not a clinical endorsement.

We list one clinic in Ecuador, so this is not a market survey and nothing here ranks one clinic against another. Prices can change. Confirm your own case with the clinic before you book flights.

Prices are indicative; only a clinic's written quote applies to you. See how we source prices. SmileJet is an information service, not a healthcare provider, and nothing here is medical advice.
