Cost Guides
Dental implant cost in Ecuador
What a single implant costs in Ecuador, why the crown is quoted separately, and what adds to the bill.
The clinic we list in Cuenca publishes $600 to $750 for a single dental implant. Before you compare that against anything, understand what it buys.
The implant is the root, not the tooth.
An implant is a titanium post placed in the jaw to replace the root of a missing tooth. It is not visible and you cannot chew on it by itself. The visible tooth is a crown, and it is a separate item at $600 to $750 for a standard implant crown including the abutment.
So a single finished replacement tooth is the two added together. A clinic quoting only the fixture is not being dishonest, it is quoting the standard way, but comparing one clinic's fixture price against another's all-in price will mislead you every time.
If you want zirconia.
A zirconia crown on an implant is published at $1,400 to $1,600, abutment included. Zirconia is harder and suits back teeth taking heavy load. It is not automatically the better choice, and the higher fee is not proof that it is. Ask the clinic why it recommends one over the other for your specific tooth.
What adds to the bill.
- Bone grafting or a sinus lift, where there is not enough bone to hold an implant. This adds cost and months of healing.
- Extraction, if the failing tooth is still in place.
- Imaging. A scan is what tells anyone whether you have the bone for an implant at all.
None of these are in the headline figure. Get them priced in writing before you book a flight.
Two trips, not one.
The implant goes in on the first visit. The bone then needs several months to fuse to it before a crown can be loaded. That healing period is biology and no clinic can compress it. Plan on two trips to Cuenca, or a single very long stay.
Full detail on the sequence is on the implants in Cuenca page.
The question people forget.
Ask what happens if the implant fails after you have flown home. Who pays for the replacement, and who pays for the return trip? Implants do fail sometimes, more often in smokers and in people with untreated gum disease. Settling that in writing beforehand costs nothing and is the difference between an inconvenience and a serious loss.
Where these numbers come from.
Every figure on this page is the fee published by INNOVATIVE DENTAL, the one clinic we list in Cuenca. It is a featured partner, which describes a selection process and a commercial relationship, not a clinical endorsement.
We list one clinic in Ecuador, so this is not a market survey and nothing here ranks one clinic against another. Prices can change. Confirm your own case with the clinic before you book flights.
Prices are indicative; only a clinic's written quote applies to you. See how we source prices. SmileJet is an information service, not a healthcare provider, and nothing here is medical advice.
