had. I had broken my front teeth at a young age and in the last year, I had an infection in my gum. Westcoast cleaned out my infection and I had to have a bone graft and gum graft. I now have two implants with a bridge across three teeth. They have done a marvelous job and you cannot tell that the teeth are not real. The gum still have their natural curve. They are perfectionist - which can interrupt your holiday plans. :D

Finally I visited Westcoast International Dental clinic in Nguyen Trung Truc street in Dist 1 and I believe I found the right place for my dental care. Its very centrally located clinic with a team of professionals who are very careful and responsive to patients need. I also received consultation service from Dr. Andrew and it was excellent. I was feeling that I am receiving dental services in my home town, Toronto, Canada. Dr. Andrew, a Canadian educated/trained dentist gave me enough time to explain my dental conditions, he took necessary photos and xrays of my oral cavity and shared them with me for future reference. He was very professional in his dealings and I truly felt confident on his services. I am sure I will be using "Westcoast International Dental clinic" for my dental care.

da I had some x-rays done at home and emailed through the scans before arriving - We were met by Amanda who took care of us while we were there. Straight in for x-rays and a complete head scan – This dental clinic has state of the art facilities. Far exceeds any dental practice I have ever been to. I’ve had root canal treatments, 3 implants, numerous crowns and bridgework, a bone graft – though Dr Andrew uses blood platelets as they take faster and there is no risk of rejection! Impressive. The bone graft and implants are done under iv sedation – absolutely pain free. Dr Nu Anh is an angel, very delicate hands. There was 1 day I had 8 hours in the dental chair and Dr Nu Anh is so gentle I actually fell asleep. Had to leave Vietnam while the implants settled and Dr Nu Anh made an amazing temporary bridge which was an engineering feat in itself. Lasted 10 months till I returned. This has taken 3 trips as the work was extensive and every time I left with a detailed treatment plan and schedule of costs. My husband has had crowns, root canal treatments, amalgam fillings removed and re-done and had 2 wisdom teeth extracted with NO PAIN after the anesthetic wore off. Very happy! So even with the flights, the dental treatment and costs, for what we have had done and the expertise of the dentists in this clinic it has been far more economical and satisfying than having the same done in Australia with the added benefit of visiting a beautiful country.

Their concern and care for the patient is paramount. The time taken by the staff to answer questions and allay any fears and their step by step approach to explain the dental plans and procedures engaged us as patients giving us options and confidence in the next step. The team's attention to detail and dedication to ensuring that you are pleased with the end result is commendable. Any concerns about the language and not being able to understand or communicate your needs is easily dispelled when dealing with their diverse team who understand and speak English, including their Practice Co-ordinator, Amanda who is Australian. They are also really flexible with appointments and are always available to see you even at the spur of the moment if you need it. The dental technician who creates the crowns and veneers is absolutely an artist. This is the reason why I chose to have a lot of work done at Westcoast and why I chose Westcoast over the many other options in Ho Chi Minh City. I needed to have dental work done in a conspicuous place (the front of my mouth) so it was extremely important that the teeth didn't just feel good and function well, but that they looked good too. In the past, other dentists have prioritized the first two things (comfort and function of the teeth) but have not prioritized making sure that the dental work looks really good as well. This is also the first time anyone considered my *personality* and other facial features when constructing teeth. In 99% of cases, crowns are made off-site in a lab of people who have never met you or even seen a picture of your face. Westcoast's personal approach to improving my smile was an amazing experience. with preparing all the teeth to be crowned. I then went home with a set of temporary crowns and a partial denture over the prepared implant area to protect it while it formed up with my bone. I came back this September to have the work completed. It was a big plus to allow the bone graft so much time to develop. The implant is a 3-part device. First the implant itself is attached to your jaw under anaesthetic (last year for me) There are stitches obviously. On return the abutment is attached to it with special torque nuts (prepare for a little click when each goes into place) and then the crowns are cemented to the abutment. This year the implant area was opened and the 'abutment' put in place but then you need 7/8 days for that wound to heal before the crowns can be permanently applied to the abutment. On each trip here I have had treatment over 3-5 days after arriving, headed off on holiday to north Vietnam or to Cambodia (Angkor- a must). Then I returned for the final days of treatment. These days aren't always consecutive as adjustments are made and crowns etc tweaked by their fabulous technician Andreas who is a demon about getting everything perfect. We had a couple of days between my treatments so we caught the hydrofoil ($12 and 90mins) down to Vung Tau, a lively town on the ocean, though you'd never swim in it. They had suggested I add a lower bridge to my list of treatments but I only decided to go ahead when I arrived here. On day 1 I had the original implant from last year prepared (with stitches) and the temporary crowns removed ,my teeth all checked and cleaned and the temp put back until next week. Impressions taken for the crowns to be made. Day 2 the lower molars either side of my gap were prepared for the bridge/crown and a temp put on it. I then went off to Siem Reap for 7 days. 7 days later the crowns and bridge were ready for a fitting. After some fine tuning these were sent away for polishing and the temps all put back on again.Then two more days without treatment. Final day and all the polished crowns are checked in situ, Andreas still making some minor adjustments. Stitches removed from healed over implant area and the crowns attached to the abutment now with permanent cement. All other crowns at the front and lower bridge cemented permanently. NB:ask about a soft nightguard. The clinic manager is Amanda Peatey, an Australian woman and that fact enabled all my thinking about this clinic. We made regular apts via email for her to phone me at home before my treatment to answer any written questions, she kept in contact between my two trips. Very professional and thorough but also understanding and sympathetic. My implant specialist was Dr Andrew Tsang. I wasn't treated by him again after that op. My excellent and world-class dentist was Dr Thuy An who can't be praised highly enough. She is sensitive to your feelings about the whole thing and her English is excellent, quiet and slowly spoken. She brought me expertly through this whole long process. She had very well trained clinical assistants working beside her. This clinic has everything in-house incl own crown lab. I feel very sorry for all those who have sped to Vietnam,Thailand etc and rushed through this type of treatment in a week. This process requires time, consideration and expertise. You can't get that for the low prices and short time frames seen offered around Asia. NB: I stayed at Liberty Hotel in Ben Thanh,Great breakfast at Une journee a Paris further down same st, good tailor Minh Doan opp Liberty Hotel, What more could you require?

. About 9 months later I had a tooth ache and called the practice. As it was not an emergency, an appointment was made for 10 days later. When I got to sit in the chair I was informed that it was the same tooth that had been recently repaired. I had imagined that it was another. I was told it needed root canal, was given a quote $6000 AUD "minimum" and at least 4 sittings. I could have the job done at a more reasonable price on the coast, but also have to factor in accommodations, travel and living expenses etc. Good friends of mine have been going to Westcoast International for 7 + years and spoke highly of the service they received. I contacted them for details. I emailed Westcoast, sending copy of x-rays and coordinated with my employer for time off. organised a new passport and visa. Following a course of antibiotics and within a couple of months I was in the Westcoast Ben Thanh clinic. My dental needs are complicated. I had facial reconstruction 30 odd years ago (bone graft to mandible), there is also the insult of age, and a lot of previous fillings now cracking teeth due to the materials used (a common problem for those of us old enough). Since I have been a client of Westcoast International, and over 3 trips I have had a lot of work done, from simple fillings to root canal, implants and crowns. I have had work done by Dr Andrew Tsang, and Dr Nguyen Tran Nhu An is my treating Dentist. Amanda Peaty and the wonderful staff in the front office have coordinated my care. The integrated and professionalism of their service is of the highest standard. I have found their service second to none and I have had a lot to compare it to.
