SmileJet AI Audit Score for Sunset Dental Clinic Bali: 7.8/10 overall. Authenticity: 8/10 — Established Bali clinic (7+ years per regular patient), 330 Google reviews, named prosthodontist-led team (Dr Ela, Dr Ayu, Dr Emanuela, Dr Varisati) and in-house lab using documented VITA and Ivoclar materials.. Treatment Quality: 7/10 — Most patients report painless wisdom extractions, veneers, dentures and cleanings, but credible negatives include cracked discolored tooth after refilling, root inflammation case gone wrong, and an OrthoApnea sleep device that did not work.. Cleanliness: 9/10 — Reviews repeatedly describe the clinic as immaculate, beautiful, very clean and chic with multiple patients calling it the cleanest dentist they have ever visited.. Team: 8/10 — Prosthodontist-led with named specialists across general dentistry, hygiene, and oral surgery; multiple long-term patients reporting consistent quality from named doctors over years.. Price Value: 7/10 — Most reviewers say prices are reasonable or great compared to home country (Australia, Europe), but one quote was reportedly 3x India and one $1.6k AUD sleep device was felt to be overpriced.. Tourist Suitability: 8/10 — Strong tourist orientation: many Australian, European patients, English website, in-house lab for same-trip work, repeat visitors over years, can fit cancellation appointments.. Summary: Sunset Dental is one of Bali's better-known prosthodontist-led clinics with a strong in-house lab using VITA and Ivoclar materials, immaculate facilities, and a track record with international tourists. Most veneer, hygiene, and extraction reviews are excellent but there are credible complaints about a refilled tooth left cracked and an overpriced sleep apnea device with no post-fitting support. A nervous tourist should expect good aesthetic and routine work but should request second opinions on complex restorative or appliance cases. Key strengths: Prosthodontist-led with in-house VITA and Ivoclar lab; Cancellation lists allow same-trip veneer fittings; Repeat clients across 7+ years of operation; Multilingual reviews from Australian, European patients. Points to note: Documented complaint of cracked, discolored tooth after refilling causing chewing pain; OrthoApnea sleep device with poor post-fitting support reported; Pricing notably higher than Asian competitors per one quoted patient. Confidence: High. Based on 50 reviews and 3 sources. Audited 03 May 2026.

Important — about this score
Please read before drawing conclusions about this clinic.
This score is an automated, opinion-based assessment generated by SmileJet's proprietary AI algorithm from publicly available information — including aggregated third-party reviews, clinic-published materials, and other open-source signals. It is not a statement of verified fact, a professional medical opinion, or an endorsement, and individual experiences may differ.
How the algorithm penalises scores
Our methodology applies score reductions where signals are detected that, in the algorithm's assessment, may indicate: unverifiable or potentially overstated claims about clinical experience or credentials; review patterns the model flags as inconsistent with organic user behaviour; or limited independent corroboration of marketing statements.
These adjustments reflect algorithmic signal-weighting only and do not constitute an allegation of any specific wrongdoing by this clinic or its staff.

Sunset Dental Bali is a specialist implant and cosmetic dentistry clinic in Bali, Indonesia, founded and led by Dr. Suriansyah — a certified prosthodontist trained at two of Indonesia's top dental universities, Airlangga and Gadjah Mada. With over a decade of clinical experience, the clinic has built a strong reputation among international patients seeking high-quality dental care at a fraction of Western prices.
The clinic's in-house digital lab sets it apart from most providers in the region. Equipped with a digital intraoral scanner and 3D printer, Sunset Dental Bali produces crowns, veneers, and prosthetics on-site using premium materials from VITA Zahnfabrik and Ivoclar Vivadent — the same brands used in top clinics across Australia, Europe, and the US. This means faster turnaround, tighter fit tolerances, and no reliance on external labs that can introduce delays or quality variation.
Core specialties include dental implants, porcelain veneers, smile makeovers, full-mouth rehabilitation, orthodontics, and professional teeth whitening. Every treatment plan is handled directly by Dr. Suriansyah, ensuring continuity of care from consultation through to final fit — a standard that larger multi-dentist clinics often cannot guarantee.
The clinic is a popular choice for Australian and international dental tourists, offering airport pick-up, transparent pricing, and English-language communication throughout. Patients regularly report savings of 60–80% compared to equivalent treatment costs in Australia, without compromising on materials or clinical outcomes.
If you are planning a dental holiday in Bali and want a specialist-led clinic with its own lab, verified premium materials, and a strong track record with overseas patients, Sunset Dental Bali is one of the most credible options on the island.

Extremely happy with all dental work I had done this trip over 5 appointments. Back again in September 2026 for more treatment. Very kind, caring, professional & better than any dentist/dental work I’ve had done in Australia (I’ve had a lot over many years!). Highly recommend, just book, you will be happy you did as I was!

My wife and I attended Sunset Dental earlier this year for Veneers and one Implant. The total cost in Australia was around $13,000. I attended this clinic years ago at their previous address and could not fault the work done on my teeth. Having previous experience with them I had no hesitation to have more work done. Their new premises are second to none and the money we saved compared to Aust prices paid for our flights and nearly two weeks at the Haven in Seminyak.

Do NOT Recommend, recently came here with my partner both booked in to have scale and clean and fillings done, first step I had my xray and they did not tell me to remove my claw clip so the machine spun around my head and pushed my head forward all whilst my teeth are biting down on the machine painful and very scary experience, I then was taken into another room the scale and clean was done in such a rush compared to when I normally have it done, the then numbed me and removed an old filling and repacked it. The tooth now looks discolored and cracked. I have had nothing but pain in that tooth I cannot chew or bite down on the right side of my mouth now making me even more out of pocket having to go back to another dentist. They also made my partner wait outside without even notifying him that they were actually starting the job when initially it was spose to be the consultation and he should have been seen in his own appointment but was a blessing in disguise that he is not having to go through the same pain as me. Do not cheap out and go with this place go with your local dentist !!!

Response from the owner 2 weeks agoDear Sofia, Regarding the X-ray procedure, our CCTV review shows there was space between your hair bun and the X-ray unit. There was no direct pressure on the machine. The radiograph obtained was of good diagnostic quality. If any external pressure had interfered with the unit, the machine would have automatically stopped. No interruption occurred. Also, if there is any interruption it will shows to the X-ray result. We can also confirm from CCTV records that your partner was present inside the treatment room during the appointment. Scaling was performed using an EMS ultrasonic scaler with an initial power setting of 30/100. Due to reported sensitivity, the power was reduced to 10/100. Calculus and deposits were successfully removed. Polishing was completed using the Airflow GBT EMS system. We confirm that an EMS scaler used within the 10–30 power range does not cause structural damage to teeth when applied according to standard clinical protocol. No deep cleaning (root planing) was performed. The treatment provided was routine dental cleaning and was charged accordingly. The invoice can be provided for verification. We respectfully state that the allegations mentioned in your review, including claims of cracked teeth & deep cleaning, are not consistent with the clinical findings or the procedure performed. We regret any discomfort experienced; however, we confirm that all treatments were conducted in accordance with our established SOP. Best Regard, Customer Care Team Sunset Dental Aesthetic
