I arrived in Playa del Carmen for my first appointment, I was told they couldn’t complete the bridge in one trip, and that I would have to return a second time. I felt manipulated, but since I had already gone to the expense of the trip, I had no choice but to have a procedure done. I chose the implant option as there was not much difference in the cost. I came back months later to get the crown for the implant. They rescheduled my first appointment a couple hours before I was to go in. I went to my second appointment but I was not happy with the crown the dentist showed me and they said they would make another. My third appointment was scheduled for 4:30 pm and they called me half an hour before I was to be picked up to say it had changed to 5pm, but not to worry as I would get right in to see the dentist when I arrived. After I was picked up, the driver got a call and told me he had to pick up another patient before going to the clinic. He proceeded to drive outside of the city to a resort miles away! By the time I got to the clinic, I had been riding around in the van for almost 45 minutes and then sat in the waiting room for another hour waiting before getting in. It was obvious that they had severely overbooked their appointments. During my appointment, I had to ask for other slight alterations and wait for those to be done. At one point, the likely exhausted dentist dropped a screw in my mouth and didn’t notice. I had to point to my mouth and get his attention to take it out so I didn’t swallow it. Finally, the crown was in and I left the office; it was after 8pm. The next day I messaged the office to ask if it was necessary to come back in for the dentist to check everything before I went back home and to ask when the driver would pick my daughter and me up to take us to the Cancun airport. They told me that because I had not spent at least $1,000 on this visit I was not eligible for the complimentary airport shuttle. Upon arrival, we were picked up from the airport and taken to our hotel. The dental coordinator did not mention a spending threshold for the free shuttle. They then proceeded to tell me that they could arrange airport transportation for $80 USD per person. I told them how ridiculous that was and scrambled to find alternate airport transportation, which cost $55 for two people, not $160. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by any provider of a service. It is difficult to fathom how unprofessional and thoughtless they were. The only positive thing I can say about Smile Makeover is that the dental work seems to be quality work, but this remains to be seen, as I have only had the crown for a couple weeks.

Dr Marta did most of my work and not only is she brilliant she is the kindest human being ever. Also, the clinic is mostly operated by women which was a huge plus for me.They were really great. First forward to 1 1/2 years later, I went back. Really, I was supposed to go back for my permanents in six months just couldn’t bring myself to do it. My temporaries were working pretty well but one came off and I wasn’t about to be toothless or stubby.. This visit I felt like I either had more work done or my gums were just too sensitive. I got my permanents places and had my lip pulled down to cover the ridge. They gave me general anesthesia while removing my temporary crowns and revealing my implants and a Xanax when placing my permanents. It was a breeze for the most part. I still got the same dr, Dr Marta thank goodness! Anyways, my smile now I think is perfect.Most importantly, I don’t think I will ever appreciate going to the dentist but Smile Makeover does make this experience bearable and it’s a fraction of the cost.For anyone struggling with dental anxiety, this is the place to be. Just go, it will be over before you know it! Either way my experience was amazing, the whole staff is wonderful. I am a very difficult client but they really did help me. I would have posted my grinning face but I am a but swollen so later it is. I appreciate everything and may all good things follow you all!

and would have been about $17,000 cad with no option for payment plan so I was the only one who went ahead. My treatment was extremely straight forward. I have had Invisalign in the past and wanted veneers for purely cosmetic purposes. After my consult I paid my deposit and returned two days later to prep and get my temporary’s. After they prepped my teeth they suggested that maybe I don’t need the temporary ones because there wasn’t much difference as I didn’t need much prepping. I’ve never had veneers done so I agreed. When asking what I wanted it was very quick… I was expecting to see something with the scans given of what my teeth would look like afterwards. I was asked what style I wanted and Color and was set off. I returned another two days later and had the veneers put on. There was again no communication of what they would look like or the plan, just straight into it. I didn’t get to see my teeth until half of the top was already finished. It looked good but didn’t seem as white as I expected. After we finished I looked one last time in the mirror and they again, alright. I asked for a nightguard which was planned to be given to me when my driver came to pick me up for the airport, paid for it and was done. When seeing my teeth in natural light, they looked like the same color I had before they were prepped. There was hardly any difference. I decided that I would wear them for a day and see how I felt. The next day I did not feel any better. I contacted two numbers that were communicating with me great up until I paid about options to make them whiter before I left, and now they were ignoring me. I did not receive the night guard that I paid for as well. I feel like the process was rushed and corners were cut like giving me a temporary to wear before they were permanently cemented onto my teeth to see how I felt about it or showing me a before and after of what the treatment may look like before starting. Overall, the work is decent but again I went in for cosmetic reasons… the communication is only great when they are trying to get you to commit to the treatment. Update: veneer chipped while flossing less than a week after having them done. Went to the dentist here and they said that the veneers had ridges along the gum line and were already collecting plaque due to being finished halfway… have to pay another 3000 to fix everything that was not completed properly
