I paid 8000 BGN (excluding additional costs) for orthodontic treatment with braces, but the result is more than unsatisfactory, and the treatment itself led to irreversible consequences for me. I am extremely disappointed. For orthodontic treatment, they extracted two completely healthy teeth, without explaining the risks. This led to a permanent change in the bite, narrowing of the dental arch, incorrect bite shape, Extracting healthy teeth without a clear need is a harmful practice - it disrupts the natural balance in the mouth, can lead to a sinking of the profile and in the long term to the need for prostheses or implants. Within 1 year, my treatment went through three different orthodontists, without consistency and without commitment to the final result. I have currently started new orthodontic treatment in another clinic, where I am again paying 8000 BGN, in order to restore my bite and avoid the need for prostheses or implants in the places of the extracted teeth. I do not recommend this clinic.
Clinic response ():
Response from the owner 10 months agoHi Rebecca, The amount for orthodontic treatment is completely clear at the beginning before you decide whether to start your orthodontic treatment and is described in the contract that your parent signed. Since you wrote in your review “without additional costs”, we clearly state that this is the amount for the entire orthodontic treatment together with the retainers - in our clinic we do not have a policy to charge for each visit during the treatment, but quite the opposite - each one is included in the initial amount, in your case 8,000 BGN and the patient does not pay anything more related to their orthodontic treatment. Apart from the orthodontic treatment, you are charged for tartar removal - from the beginning of the treatment, you did not maintain satisfactory hygiene, for which we have conducted training (a special cleaning kit was given) and we have commented on the photos we have in your archive that the gum is inflamed, swollen, bleeding and painful even when touched. The situation escalated when the braces on your teeth were not visible due to uncleaned plaque and food. We have the contractual right to remove the braces in such a situation (poor hygiene and plaque on your teeth can lead to cavities, and then the priority in treatment is health and having teeth over alignment), but we nevertheless showed patience. You did not show up at the clinic at all for several consecutive visits (several months in a row), which made it difficult for us to control the situation, as a result of which the enamel on your teeth began to crumble in combination with the numerous cavities. We talked about them every visit (photos were taken by date of initial cavities to already formed craters). We introduced your father as a parent to the situation, we got his consent and started doing these cavities, one of which was no longer cavities, but pulpitis (caries reaching the nerve). Of course, you were charged for this - these procedures are outside the scope of orthodontic treatment. We removed the braces in the lower jaw after months of discussions about improving hygiene and, subject to this condition, we would put them back on. We left the braces in the upper jaw so that we could at least close the extraction spaces. These are the spaces of the teeth that were already extracted for the following reasons: severe crowding of the teeth in the upper jaw and lack of space for their arrangement, dental and skeletal class 2 (5°) - this means that your upper jaw is forward compared to the lower one both dentally and skeletally and in combination with the factor of completed growth, lack of space and a large horizontal distance between the upper and lower front teeth, our treatment option was only and only the extraction of 2 premolars. This was explained to you during the 1-hour orthodontic consultation with your father, supported by a panoramic photo, measurement and analysis of lateral teleradiography, intraoral photos, intraoral scans and face photos. The decision to extract teeth is not taken lightly and is subject to strict rules, analysis and information before signing a contract for treatment and their extraction. We have this information with both you and us, as well as a contract with them and informed consent for tooth extraction. This is a decision that you make before starting treatment and you are familiar from the very beginning with the treatment plan and the extraction of teeth to correct the skeletal and dental problem. You were seen by several doctors from our team, as you were half an hour or more late for your visits or did not come at all. You have currently started a new orthodontic treatment, for which you are paying 8,000 BGN again, as before the treatment with us, you had interrupted another orthodontic treatment for the sole reason that you decided that you did not want to wear braces a few months after they were placed. The conclusion at the moment is 3 orthodontic treatments or at least the start of them and for which you claim that the result is unsatisfactory. There can be no result without assistance in both hygiene and compliance with your given hours. Thank you for the feedback and we hope you find your place and be satisfied with the new treatment.
