However, Dr. Guide would like to add something from your review regarding "tartar buildup." If left untreated, it can easily lead to gum inflammation and redness. Therefore, scaling may be more sensitive or painful than usual. Dr. Guide recommends getting scaling done every 6 months to reduce the accumulation of bacteria, making cleaning easier, less painful, and helping to prevent gingivitis in the long term. First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the delay you experienced and for any aspect of your visit that did not meet your expectations. We fully understand the importance of punctuality and patient satisfaction, and we regret that you had to wait beyond your scheduled appointment time. On the day of your visit, the patient prior to you required unexpectedly extended treatment due to the complexity of the case. Although we allocate buffer time in our schedule, the procedure exceeded the anticipated duration. The attending dentist did personally apologize to you both before and after your treatment. Nevertheless, we recognize that your time is valuable and we are reviewing our scheduling protocols to further minimize such situations in the future. Regarding the treatment fee, the estimated range of 900–2,000 THB was communicated at the time of booking and confirmed prior to your appointment. The final charge of 2,000 THB reflected the actual clinical findings. According to your treatment record, there was a significant amount of internal staining and calculus, particularly on the palatal and lingual surfaces. In addition, you have fixed retainers on both upper and lower teeth in the areas where deposits were present. Cleaning around fixed retainers requires additional precision and care to prevent damage, especially considering your previous history of retainer detachment. The treatment was therefore performed carefully and thoroughly in accordance with these factors. Although the procedure duration was relatively short, this reflects the use of high-efficiency ultrasonic scaling systems and modern dental technology. At PSK Dental Center, we prioritize effective yet minimally invasive care. Advanced equipment allows us to remove calculus efficiently while reducing discomfort and sensitivity. Our goal is not to extend treatment time unnecessarily, but to provide thorough cleaning in a way that is safe, precise, and comfortable for our patients. During your visit, the dentist also performed a comprehensive oral examination. You were informed that there were no active cavities requiring fillings. However, approximately eight areas of cervical abrasion were noted, most of them on the upper teeth, likely associated with brushing habits or mechanical wear. These areas were explained to you chairside using a mirror so that you could clearly understand the findings. With respect to bitewing radiographs, these are available upon request at 250 THB per film. If a package including dental examination, bitewing X-rays, and cleaning were to be completed, the total cost would be approximately 2,500 THB. However, based on the clinical assessment, there was no immediate indication for radiographs. In accordance with international safety principles, we avoid unnecessary radiation exposure when it is not clinically required. That said, we fully respect patient preference, and additional imaging can always be arranged upon request. We sincerely apologize for the negative experience you had at PSK Dental Center. We would like to explain our general scaling treatment at PSK Dental Center. We use a gentler scaling instrument than most clinics, minimizing vibration and sensitivity during treatment. Treatment time varies depending on the amount of tartar and plaque. If a patient has little tartar or can keep their mouth open for an extended period, the treatment will be faster. Conversely, if a patient cannot keep their mouth open for long or has a significant amount of tartar, the treatment will take longer. The fact that your scaling was quick may indicate that you maintained good oral hygiene and/or cooperated well during the treatment. The feeling of a more thorough cleaning might be due to the post-scaling process, where we use a fluoride-containing polishing powder to clean the area after each patient's scaling. This treatment process is consistent regardless of insurance coverage; whether you pay privately or not, the treatment method remains the same. If you are paying privately, a less extensive tartar buildup or good patient cooperation during treatment may indicate a shorter treatment time. The treatment costs will not be as high as for patients with a large amount of tartar or those whose treatment is difficult. However, if you feel that this tartar removal session (using your government health insurance) was not clean in any way, please feel free to send information to the admin, such as pictures or clips. The admin is happy to provide feedback to all staff and the dentist. The admin hopes that you understand the treatment process at PSK Dental Clinic.
