Rudy Adame We, my wife, my son and I got a complete veneer work and some implants. Price very reasonable, we spent about $35,000.00, for all the work that we requested, it could be around $100,000.00 in the USA. Our experience with doctors, Dr. Polanco, and Dr. Valdemar service, is amazing, they are Sensitive, Courteous, and very Professional. But our experience with the receptionist is very disappointed especially for the second or third appointment, she doesn’t communicate accordingly to the doctors level, when you ask questions she turn her face or her eyes to the side making you feel like you are bothering her, when you schedule second or third appointments is a problem, when they cancel for any reason she do not call or send an email, she doesn’t make the effort to call or send an email, then when you show up she just said, ho it was cancelled and I sent you a text but without and feeling like sorry that you came all the way for nothing. We have been waiting for my son implants for the last 2 moth, we have text called her, and she always said I will check and let you know and (that) let you know is whenever she wants or until you call or send a text again, we are very frustrated, and disappointed with Sara. We, my wife, son, and I received complete veneer work and some implants.  Price was very reasonable.  We spent about $35K, for all the work that was performed. This could of cost us $100K or more in the U.S.  Our experience with Dr. Polanco and Dr. Valdemar’s service has been amazing, they are Sensitive, Courteous, and Very Professional. Unfortunately, our experience with the receptionist has been vey disappointing.  Especially when concerning the second and third appointments.  Her communication skills and bed side manners lack the caliber of the doctors.  When questioned are asked she will turn away from you and or roll her eyes in a manner to suggest that you are bothering her.  This is also very apparent when scheduling second and third appointments. When your office cancels an appointment, no notice is given, not a call, text, or email. No effort is given to reschedule or notify us of the cancellation.  When arriving for what we thought was a scheduled visit, we are then notified that the appointment has been cancelled.  Without any remorse, apology, or sympathy of having to have come all the way for basically nothing, we are simply told, “ Oh, it was cancelled, I sent you a text.” We have also been waiting on my sons implants for the last 2 months.  Every time we call and or text her, we repeatedly get the same response, “I will check and let you know.”  And that “let you know” never happens. We have to call and text again only to continue to get the same response. At this point we are very frustrated and disappointed with Sara.

In case you are having trouble finding it, google has their old building at the Alvarez place. I did get some images done there but that was 2 years ago so things change. This was in May 2023 and was at 10410 Blvd. Salinas. It was walking distance from the Grand Hotel which is a fine not too expensive but not too cheap place to stay and there is a big grocery store a few blocks away and lots of places to eat since you aren’t really going to want to do a lot if you squeeze all your dental work into a short time. As for the work itself it was hands down the BEST work I have ever had done in my 45 years of life. The office was great to work with and went out of their way to get everything I needed done in the time I was there. I had been told by an office in the US that I needed some specific procedures so I kept asking for them and they put them off and I could tell they were trying to make me happy but didn’t want to do them. Finally the doctor asked me why I was asking for that specific procedure… I told him a dentist in the US had told me I could not be taken on as a patient until I did that as part of my intake with them and it was a $2,500 procedure so I was hoping to do it while I was there. He told me that I not only didn’t need the procedure but that it would cause massive long term damage to my gums and roots that would cause me to then need that procedure done regularly but the way they were was fine and I may never need it. I am so grateful to him for being honest with me! I ended up having 2 teeth pulled but they tried very hard to save them, harder than I would have and they saved a third one I had little hope for. They fixed all my old alloy fillings and jagged dental work from the US and set me up with a temporary denture until I can go get implants done which will involve multiple trips close together so I need to organize it. My husband got his stuff all done the same week, Roy vandals, crowns, root plaining, and my teenager sat by the pool and ate as much as she could find around town. In the end taking us all there and getting the best dental work of my life from the friendliest and most professional office I have ever worked with cost less than just doing that one procedure the dentist in my town apparently tells everyone they have to get to become a patient (told my husband the same thing a week later)… maybe a tiny bit more after we went to the market, but it was well worth it. If you are considering trying going down there for some work this was a great place to work with!

Excellent in every way. Abi at Reception provided 5-star service. I'm very demanding, perhaps even too demanding, and I entrusted them with the care of my mother, who has Alzheimer's. recently had two dental implants done by Dr. Alvarez at Previa Dental Implant Center in Tijuana, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Before going, I had compared several U.S. clinics — the quotes were around $7,300 for two implants (DIO system) and a 45-day wait after extraction. At Previa, everything was clear and transparent from the beginning. Bianca, the clinic coordinator, explained every detail by email — the procedure, cost, and materials. The clinic uses original Nobel Biocare implants, and Dr. Alvarez personally showed me the packaging and traceability codes before surgery. My bone quality was good, so no bone graft or membrane was needed. Dr. Alvarez was extremely gentle — even the anesthesia was completely painless. The surgery took about an hour, with no pain, no swelling, and no bleeding. Temporary crowns were installed the next day free of charge. The total cost came to about $4,000, including everything — less than half of what I was quoted in the U.S. Dr. Alvarez is a calm, experienced professional with over 35 years of implant experience. The entire team is organized, honest, and respectful. Every charge matched what was actually done — nothing unnecessary, no hidden fees. As for Tijuana — it’s busy but not unsafe. I walked back to my hotel at night and felt fine. Uber works well (just use translation for addresses). I also had great food nearby — especially Los Arcos seafood and even found a Michelin-recommended restaurant across from my hotel! Overall, Previa Dental provided world-class quality at a fair price with total transparency. If you’re considering dental work in Mexico, this is a clinic you can truly trust.

I wrote this in June 2025. I let some time pass to see how it went before writing. In the Fall of 2020 and Spring of 2022 I received excellent care at Previa Dental Implant Center in Tijuana with Dr. Alvarez and his wonderful team. I had the procedure they call “all on four”, first on the top and then for my bottom teeth. I love my teeth! The only bad thing that has ever happened with my new teeth is a couple of times they seemed to invoke envy in others and that’s not the goal. The goal was to be able to eat and to work, to smile and greet people without holding my hand over my mouth. I first had the idea that I could get an implant when I read the book by the little girl in Afghanistan who got shot in the head for saying girls should be able to get an education! When she ended up in a hospital in England, and people heard about her and sent money, she said they put the money away for her to go to college after she paid for one thing with it, one dental implant for her mother! I thought if she can manage a new tooth, I can too! At first I thought I would get one implant because I was missing a front tooth on top. Bianca advised me to have a panoramic x-ray taken locally because I have to travel far to get to Tijuana. When I had the images taken, the technician said I might be advised to have all my teeth out. My first reaction was no way! I’m keeping the ones I have left! Then when I had the x-rays emailed to me so I could forward them to Dr. Alvarez, I did see that, even the remaining teeth were in poor shape, and I began to consider letting the doctor remove all. In fact, by the time I was in the chair being examined for the procedure I was glad to hear that I did in fact have enough bone in my jaw to be a good candidate for the all-on-four procedure, which means they can attach a whole new rack to just four implants. I am not the kind of person who hates to go to the dentist. In my experience, I’d say dental care is a privilege. For me it was just the idea of traveling that was a bit overwhelming to think about. In my daily life I just never …..I guess I usually never go anywhere! I don’t stay in hotels or fly or even go to restaurants so it was planning these things in the beginning that was very foreign to me. The first time I went to Tijuana I drove. After crossing the border I was lost but it was okay. A friendly taxi driver offered help. He figured out where I wanted to be and I paid him to follow him. My phone did not work. That part went well but then I drove around the block three times looking for parking. My visit at the dentist and with various hotels was all great but the next time I went I parked at the border. I won’t go into details but like I said my phone/gps did not work and that part of driving was bad for me. I learned the best way is just to fly into San Diego. The public transportation is perfect and very easy. A short bus trip from the airport takes you to the trolley. The trolley runs every 15 minutes and takes you to the border. Bring or get two quarters to use the bathroom in the building with the McDonald's. Then walk across the border at the pedestrian crossing. You have to have a passport but the one if you walk across is less expensive than the one that lets you fly in. When you leave, if walking, what works well is to get a hotel and leave early in the morning. There is a line to cross back to the states that looks horribly long later in the day, but I never saw the end, someone always offers a ride to a short cut for a fee and I did that too, it went well. Dr. Alvarez and his team are the best. I highly recommend them.
