What these reviews add up to.
8.9 out of 10
Overall score
The Old Quarter flagship of the Picasso network and the strongest branch by review evidence, with documented complex-case work and independent endorsements from a retired dentist and a healthcare administrator on hygiene and process. Central, English-speaking and well set up for visiting patients. Minor weaknesses are occasional admin and billing inconsistencies.
Authenticity
9/10Verified Old Quarter flagship on Chau Long, Truc Bach; decade-old network branch with named dentists, its own external review listings, and a balanced mix of glowing and genuinely critical reviews.
Treatment quality
9/10Strong complex-case evidence: implants, bridges, redone failed root canals and periodontal work, plus a retired French dentist praising rubber-dam use and composite quality. One wisdom-tooth case healed slowly.
Cleanliness
9/10A retired French dentist and a US healthcare administrator both audited and praised sterilisation, tool changing between patients and PPE. Spotless and modern; one review noted no privacy curtains.
Team
9/10Named dentists (Dr Emily, Dr Lynn, Dr Anna, Dr Linh, Dr Hoa, Dr Thang), multilingual, conservative with no upselling, and notably skilled with children and dental-phobic patients.
Price value
8/10Transparent pricing repeatedly praised against UK, Australia, Tokyo and Stockholm; minor dings include one billing error and one case where extra work was charged without prior confirmation.
Tourist suitability
9/10Central Truc Bach lakeside location walkable from Old Quarter hotels, English staff, same-day emergency fit-ins, free consults, email booking and multi-session planning around travel dates.

(Translation: I'm Vietnamese but live in the US, came home to visit family and got dental work done at Picasso on my mom's recommendation. The dentist was very dedicated, did 2…

porcelain crowns for me and a cleaning for my mom too. Quality is good, price is reasonable.) Will definitely come back next time I visit.
Treatment was technically fine, no complaints about the actual dentistry. However my appointment ran significantly behind, almost 50 minutes, and I felt the front desk could have communicated better about the delay. Also the price quoted by email differed slightly from what I was charged on the day (they explained it was because an additional small thing needed doing which was fair, but it…

should have been confirmed with me before they did it not after). Dentist herself was great, very skilled. Three stars reflects the admin side, the clinical care would be 5.
I'm a Swedish backpacker and to be honest I expected the worst when I had to go to a dentist abroad. A piece of one of my old fillings came out while I was eating peanuts (genius move) and I figured I'd just have to live with it until I got home in 6 weeks. Hostel owner said no no, go to Picasso, you'll be fine. I walked in expecting a long wait or some kind of price scam. Got neither. Saw a…

a dentist within 45 minutes, she replaced the filling properly (not just a temporary fix) and explained that the old one had been done badly originally which was why it failed. Cost me less than my dinner the night before in Hoi An. No nonsense, just good dentistry. I genuinely think the standard here is higher than what I get back in Stockholm and that's not me being dramatic.
I'm writing this review as someone who spent 32 years working in healthcare administration in the US (now retired in Hanoi). I have a critical eye for medical facilities and processes. Picasso impressed me on every metric I look for: sterilization protocols clearly visible and adhered to, patient files digitized and organized, clinicians using PPE properly, informed consent processes done verbally…

AND in writing, and pricing communicated transparently before treatment begins. I had a comprehensive examination, full mouth scan, deep cleaning, and one composite filling. Each step was documented and explained. The dentist showed me my own scan and walked through what she saw, including areas she was NOT concerned about, which is something most American dentists wouldn't bother doing. The only minor critique I have is that the appointment booking system could benefit from automated reminders via SMS in addition to email. A small operational suggestion in an otherwise outstanding practice.
I flew from Singapore for invisalign treatment because the price difference was honestly insane. SGD quoted at home, USD at Picasso for the same brand same length of treatment. Initial consult was free, scans and treatment plan done in one visit. Dr Hoa managed my case and was super patient with all my questions (i ask a LOT of questions). She set realistic expectations from the start, no…

overpromising. I fly back every 8-10 weeks for checks, my partner enjoys the trip and we make a little holiday of it each time. 7 months in and my front teeth are already significantly straighter. couldn't be happier.
Good work overall. Got a wisdom tooth out, it was a tricky one apparently, partly impacted. The extraction itself went smoothly and the dentist was clearly experienced. Healing was a bit rougher than I expected and I had to come back twice for follow ups due to some discomfort. To be fair they didn't charge me for either follow up which I appreciated. Knocking off one star because the post op…

instructions could have been clearer, I would have iced my face more aggressively the first night if I'd known how much swelling to expect. Otherwise good clinic, fair pricing, would still recommend.
Como hispanohablante que vive en Hanoi, déjenme decir que esta clínica es la mejor. (Sorry, switching to English now.) I've lived in Hanoi for 4 years and tried 3 other clinics before finding Picasso. The difference is night and day. I had a root canal redone here after another clinic in town did it badly. Dr Anna identified the problem immediately on the xray, explained why I'd been having…

intermittent pain for 18 months, and redid the procedure properly. Pain gone within a week. I should have come here first and saved myself a lot of money and discomfort.
On holiday from Lagos and broke a tooth on the second day. Devastated. Concierge at my hotel called Picasso for me. They saw me same afternoon. The dentist was so reassuring and she fitted me for a temporary crown that day and a permanent one was ready before I flew home a week later. Beautiful work, you genuinely cannot tell which tooth was repaired. Cost was a fraction of what I'd pay at home.…

I'll be planning my next dental work around a trip back to Vietnam, it makes financial sense to do so.
ok so i was traveling around vietnam for 3 weeks and broke a molar eating banh mi on day 4 lol. panicked, googled english speaking dentist hanoi, picasso came up. walked in next morning without appointment, they squeezed me in within an hour. doctor (forgot her name sorry) did xray, said the tooth needed a crown, showed me the xray on the screen and explained everything. crown done in 2 visits,…

3 days apart. cost was about 1/4 of what my dentist in belgrade quoted me. flight home with no pain. recommend 100%
My husband and I are retired and have been spending winters in Vietnam for the past six years. We used to fly back to Adelaide for our dental appointments which was both expensive and inconvenient. A neighbour in our apartment building recommended Picasso to us last year and I cannot thank her enough. I required two implants and a partial bridge, and Roger needed extensive periodontal treatment.…

. Both of us were treated with such kindness and patience throughout, and the dentists took the time to explain each step of the process. The clinic is immaculate, the technology is genuinely modern (Roger said it looks newer than our dentist back home), and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. We completed all our treatment over two visits totaling about three weeks. The total cost for both of us combined was less than what my single implant quote was in Australia. Truly exceptional value but more importantly, truly exceptional care.
Came here for teeth whitening before my wedding. Bride approved. 10/10
Very good clinic. I came for two filling and one cleaning. The dentist was skilled and the price was very reasonable, much cheaper than Tokyo. Only one small problem: I had to wait around 20 minutes past my appointment time, and the receptionist did not explain the delay. Maybe they were busy that day. But the treatment itself was excellent and the dentist apologize for the wait. I will come…

back next year when I visit Hanoi again.
Right, where do I even begin. I'm a chronic dental phobic. We're talking panic attacks in the waiting room, the works. I avoided the dentist for nearly eight years which I know is awful but anyone with proper dental anxiety will understand. I'm working in Hanoi on a two-year contract and finally a friend convinced me to just go. She came with me to my first appointment and held my hand in the…

chair like I was a child, which I basically was. The dentist (a lovely woman, I think her name was Linh?) listened to me sob for about ten minutes before she even looked in my mouth. She didn't rush me, didn't make me feel stupid, just talked through everything she wanted to do and let me say stop whenever I needed to. We did a cleaning that first day and nothing else. She said we'd do one thing at a time and at my pace. Three months later I've had two fillings done, a deep clean, and I'm scheduled for a crown next week. I'm not cured of the phobia but I can sit in the chair without crying now. That's huge for me. Whoever owns this clinic, please pay your staff more, they're doing god's work.
Excellent service from beginning to end. I am from Dubai, I came to Hanoi specifically for dental work after researching many options in Southeast Asia. Picasso was recommended on a Reddit thread for medical tourism. I got 4 zirconia crowns and one root canal. The work was done by Dr Emily and her team over 5 days. Quality matches what I would receive in Dubai but at maybe 30 percent of the price.…

The crowns look natural and feel perfect. Even my dentist in Dubai who did my last checkup was impressed and asked where I had them done.
I've been living in Hanoi for just over a year and was dreading finding a dentist I could trust, but a colleague pointed me to Picasso in the Old Quarter and I'm so glad she did. I came in for a check-up and scale and polish, and the whole experience was genuinely pleasant. The clinic is spotlessly clean and modern, and the staff at reception spoke excellent English, which made the whole process…

easy from start to finish. Dr Anna was thorough without being alarmist. She flagged one small cavity, explained what it was and what it wasn't, and gave me the option to treat it then and there. No pressure, no upselling, just honest advice. I chose to get it filled on the spot and she was incredibly gentle. I barely felt anything. Pricing was clearly explained upfront and well within what I'd expect to pay back home in the UK for half the level of service. I've already booked my six-month follow-up and have started recommending Picasso to everyone in my expat group. Finding a reliable, professional clinic in Hanoi felt like a lottery, but this one is the real deal.
Excellent doctors and staff, I recommend this clinic! Everything is at a high level. It all started with a toothache, and it was not easy to decide to go to the dentist while traveling. In the end, the clinic removed the tooth, and then I went here again and did everything else: fillings, crowns and a bridge. Very pleased)

Thanks Thanaa, that's really nice to hear. We put a lot of effort into making the clinic feel calm and welcoming, so knowing the team got that right means a lot. The Old Quarter crew will be happy to read this. Hope we'll see you again next time you're due for a visit.
Easy to find, clean and aesthetically pleasing building, polite staff. Booking was simple even internationally by email, with fast, professional responses. Dentist Dr Anna was lovely, she took her time to explain things to me, asking if I had any questions etc. and the hygienist, Duyen, was gentle yet extremely through, with a visually significant difference pre and post cleaning, plus my mouth…

h feels great! I'm celiac and the entire team was caring and proactive about keeping me safe, checking for gluten and not making me feel like a burden. I mentioned it while booking and they checked in with me multiple times in person too. They were upfront and transparent about their (very reasonable) pricing, and best of all didn't try to scare and upsell me unnecessary treatments! Shows the ethics of the place, that they don't need scare tactics to stay booked out. Outstanding service, I'll definitely fly back here from Australia again 😁

Thanks Anna, what a wonderfully detailed review to read. Dr. Anna and Duyen are both going to be really chuffed when we share this with them, especially the bit about your mouth feeling great after the cleaning. The celiac piece matters a lot to us and we never want a patient to feel like their health needs are an inconvenience, so it's good to hear the team kept checking in without making it awkward. You nailed something we care deeply about too, which is not pushing unnecessary treatments on people. It's not a strategy, it's just how we think dentistry should be done. Easy international booking and clear pricing upfront are things we've worked hard on for our overseas patients, so lovely to hear it landed the way you hoped. Flying in from Australia is no small thing, and we'll be here whenever you're ready for your next visit. Really appreciate you taking the time to write all of this Anna, it means a lot to the team.
