g though about getting implants and how it would feel to be able to feel my palate again at the top while I was eating, especially at times when the dentures became loose and needed to be re-glued. Over the past 5 years I had done a lot of research into implants. Clicking on the links that offered free flights and hotel and luxury cars etc. I looked at everywhere except the UK and Ireland where the prices were very high. I looked at Turkey, Hungary, Croatia, Costa Rica and even India. They all promised to place various numbers of implants in my mouth and various types of teeth on the implants at various prices. Turkey seemed to be the cheapest. I had more than a dozen detailed quotes and I chose Turkey. I went to Antalya with the cash in my pocket but after a last minute phone call from my wife who had read about some implant horror story, I chickened out and spent the money on fake watches and handbags for the family. I was quite happy with my new dentures anyway. A year passed and I was now in the USA where I received a nice email from Christina at Urzola Dentistry, asking how I was getting on with my implant search. I told her that I was still looking and she convinced me to get a panoramic x-ray to show to Dr. Urzola. I went to another famous and very expensive dentist in Florida for the x-ray, his opinion on what was needed and a quote. His opinion was that the bone in my upper jaw was far too thin to hold implants and that I was need a special fitting that screwed on the side of the bone to hold new teeth. The bottom was ok. The quote was $50,000+. I sent this x-ray to Dr. Uzola who told me that he was sure there was enough bone in the upper jaw for the implants and more than enough in the bottom. The price was a lot cheaper for the whole thing. I would have to go there for an examination to be sure. I took the plunge and went to Costa Rica after researching other Costa Rica dentists and finding that they were at least 50% more than Dr. Urzola. It also helped to know that one of Dr. Urzola's patients was President Biden's brother. I was still very apprehensive. I shouldn't have been. Dr. Urzola is extremely professional as is his staff. His surgery is modern and clean. I went under general surgery and woke up a few hours later with 9 implants including 4 on the top where the other guy said couldn't be done. I was fitted with really nice temporary teeth and they look brilliant. Feel natural. I go back in a couple of months for the final zirconium teeth and a Hollywood smile. It's really tough finding the right implant surgeon. They are doing it all over the world and promise you the earth but Dr. Urzola is the real thing. Great work, great price. 5 stars. e there was a driver waiting for me at the airport to take me to the hotel!!! The next day i had an appt for a 3D face scan at 11am. They were very kind and gentle as my mouth was very sore from really bad teeth!! The Monday following was surgery day, and it went well, they were very kind and professional, They are very LGBTQ friendly and never misgendered me one time and were very respectful to me being a member of the community! To me this important! Throughout the week they let me heal and we did various test fitting's, i wasn't able to get my top permanent prosthesis that week, as i have to heal on top before they can attach it. I did get my bottom prosthesis and a top denture temporarily, i have to go back in September to get the top installed after my upper jaw has healed for a bit. They are covering my hotel and the top is already paid for. Additionally they made the denture at no extra cost to me, and Dr. Urzola also repaired a tooth for my wife, and gave her a cleaning for no charge!! He also installed 2 more implants on top for no extra charge as well so i have 8 instead of six!!! My overall experience with Dr. Urzola and his staff was amazing!! His patients love him as he came out in the waiting room and greeted everyone in between patients, and they all stood up to hug him and shake his hand etc.. It was Truly amazing to see because this doesn't happen in the states!!! He is certainly loved by all, and now he is loved by Me!!!! I highly recommend Urzola Dentistry! I cannot wait to go back in September to see him and the staff again, they truly made the visit memorable and the best part was no judgement from anyone. If your looking for a Dr. who truly is a caring and honest person who will give it to you straight, and not beat around the bush, this is the place to go! You will truly get the best service, in the states the service and affordability is not there. but in Costa Rica they have it all, affordable, reliable , honest and professional. Sidenote: Upon arriving for my first appointment a patient of Dr. Urzola approached me, showed me his teeth and bragged about what a positive experience he had. (I am one of those guys too). questions. The ease of the entire process made it enjoyable, It was only a 2.5 hour flight from Southwest Florida to Costa Rica. The convenience was priceless. They set up everything from the hotel and airport pick ups, transportation to and from the clinic, as well as suggesting sightseeing and excursions. I had implants done after losing a bridge. The surgery took 30 minutes and there was very little pain or discomfort pre and post surgically. Everything is top notch and current technology. Dr. Urzola is very experienced and knowledgeable as you can see from his vitae. The best part is the price point of all procedures…what would have cost me $30.000 in the United States was a small fraction at $6000! So there you go! I saved approximately $24,000 and had a fabulous vacation too! I highly recommend you to consider this incredible option for your dental needs. Thanks to Dr. Urzola and his staff I now smile with confidence again! I will see you all again in May 2024! P.S. Frank Biden (President Biden’s younger brother) is their current patient…this may either convince you or, at the very least, inform you of the caliber of this dental practice.

decades. I loved how quickly and efficiently everything was done. Dr. Urzola made sure I was pleased with the finished product before I departed for the USA. Thank you Dr. Urzola!!! On the logistics of the trip their staff helped also with me making good choices on where to stay. I stayed at the Hotel Christina where their staff could speak a little English, was within walking distance to the dental office, was in a safe neighborhood, and had Netflix for entertainment as most of the stations were in Spanish. Urzola's staff also offered me a ride to and from the airport since the driving can be pretty hectic at times. Again, very pleased with the process and save thousands of dollars.

Shortly thereafter I talked with Dr. Urzola personally about my personal case and my existing implants and he really made me feel at ease. I flew to San Jose, CR late February and spent a week there. They put me under with anesthesia and it was an excellent choice. It's a general anesthesia but not as deep as going in for a surgery. I had no issues with coming out of the anesthesia which was amazing because I have a history of not remembering where I am or having a difficult time coming out of anesthesia. It was a fantastic experience. I had them do full upper and lower implants which meant removing all my existing teeth but leaving in place my current implant posts so they could be reused into the overall mouth reconstruction. After removing my teeth they made me the temporary set which is essentially a type of dentures that is not removable. I left there with TEETH. Going in I had one tooth on the top of my mouth and I left with teeth! So amazing! My mouth surprisingly didn't hurt so much the first week. Granted, I was on pain killers but I expected more pain. One thing I found really interesting is that Dr. Urzola stitched my gums together after placing some implants under the gums and that seemed to *really* help with healing and keeping food and bacteria out of the sockets. I went back 2 weeks ago and got the finals and WOW! Let me tell you their zirconia finals are GORGEOUS. Seriously terrific! I'll be honest, my second trip hurt more than the first because they had to open up the gums to get to the implants placed under the gums and those hurt because of inflammation when they tighten the implants down to it. It's to be expected and I had them put them on without anesthesia so that I wouldn't be bothered with numb lips. Basically, I didn't have to hurt if I wasn't being vain but I really wanted to see my smile with lips that moved freely. I'm glad I did it this way because it allowed me to feel really comfortable with the fit and really lowered my anxiety even if it hurt (A LOT). If you don't like pain... just have them numb the gums and you'll be far better off. They offered several times... I just turned it down. I did get to see the lab while I was there and I'm really impressed. It really is right next door to their office and the lab is outfitted with everything needed to do the zirconia including the initial blank cutting and the baking of the teeth at 938 degrees F. It was really great being able to see the lab, especially because I'm into 3D printing and I understand how the tooling the lab has works.
