I spoke with Gabby in April probably 4 times and then scheduled procedure for mid May. Overall, Colina Dental is a clean modern facility with excellent employees that gave me a Hollywood smile at a reasonable price.

Selecting Colina was the absolutely correct choice. His entire Dental array has been restored using the best crowns available. His smile is that of the man I married 40 years ago! I needed Dental care as well. I had Dental trauma from previous care. I was barely willing to consider having a broken tooth repair while I waited for John. Dr Belen Barrantes told me she could guarantee I would be gently treated with compassion and have no pain. Wow. She was true to her word. She was patient and professional in every way. I now have a new beautiful smile and believe I can continue to feel secure with my Dental care in the future. We will return to Colina Dental for our continued care. The on-site Dental labs allowed for 2 separate temporary fittings of our crowns before our final Circonia crowns. The result is perfectly fitted crowns with No spaces between the crown and gums! I also needed a root canal, whoo... They called in a specialist who does nothing but root canals... It was done, PAIN FREE in less than 20 minutes. My tooth is now painless. Such professionals of the highest caliber along with up to the moment technical labs and equipment makes Colina Dental the choice. The only choice. My eternal appreciation to the entire staff of Colina for our beautiful pain-free smiles. You are good people.

Once in the chair I was in the expert hands of Dr. Rebeca Phillips. I was nervous as it had been awhile, and my father was a dental surgeon. Not only did Dr. Phillips treat me so well, she is gentle, clear, and hands down the best dental experience I've had since my father. He would be impressed with this office and this doctor. I live in the southwest (US) so the first phase was me trying to find dentists in Mexico as it seemed the easiest and most logical place to go. All I seemed to go up against were sites and google searches that pushed you towards specific practices, fake reviews, pushy sales type patient coordinators, and horrible communication. You also can’t have any contact with the doctors prior to arriving, so that is a big red flag for me. Many of these dentists are not specialty trained as prosthodontist’s which you should insist on if you want cosmetic dentistry done. I was about at my wits end, felt overwhelmed, and the more I went down the rabbit hole the more I became super nervous about traveling internationally for the work. My last effort was reaching out to an old neighbor, remembering she had gone to Costa Rica for dental. Was the best decision I have ever made. The practice she recommended , colina dental, was INCREDIBLE. From my very first contact to the day I was taken to the airport after a week of dental work, I was BLOWN AWAY by the kindness and professionalism. I’ll say it again..BLOWN AWAY!! Dr Gabriela Sibaja was my patient coordinator. She was extremely communicative, very informative and absolutely lovely. One of my days where I had some extra time, she asked if I wanted to accompany her to pick up her little boys from school and go to her fave papusa place. I mean, C’mon! I felt like family! Dr Luisana Echandi did all my dental work. I have had a lot of dentists in my life (the big stuff started with a horse accident at 14yrs old). Never had ANY of them been soooo thorough nor as much of a perfectionist as she. Multiple times I would have the lab tech, the founder Dr Maricarmen, Dr Echandi, and Dr “gabby” standing over me discussing the most minute details for the creation my front crowns. It was like nothing I had ever experienced. Every step was discussed, she showed me all that she was doing and never pushed me to have extra work done. It was always in my control what I did and did not want to do. Such a relief. The office itself is modern and Clean. The technology used is top notch and they are very punctual with appointments. The drs and staff are fastidious about sanitation. A clean freak like my self very much appreciated the constant changing of gloves, gowns, and tools. They were better about it than my last dentist here at home. I stayed at the little BnB the practice owns and that in and of itself was a 5 star experience. If you go, and want a lovely place to rest your head in between appointments or breaks in dental work, this is perfect! Two steps away and you’re in this modern, super clean, welcoming spot. Ana, your host, is a gem of all gems. (See separate review of the la Colina inn). In conclusion, and the most important part of all this is that my teeth look absolutely incredible. The crowns are more beautiful than I could have hoped for!!! Yes, I even cried tears of joy when I saw the final crowns placed. Real tears! They even fit more comfortably in my mouth than the original ones I had done 13 years ago. Crazy, but I even pronounce certain words better and more accurately. Who knew that could be a benefit?!?! The experience overall was more stars than there are in the sky. ❤️ Thank you to the whole team at La colina.

Dr Gabriela was very thorough in her communication with me on all of the details before my trip. She also arranged my airport pick up and gave me hotel recommendations, including La Colina Inn, which is owned by the clinic. I ended up staying at La Colina Inn, and it was a wonderful experience. I will return in three months for the second and final stage of my dental work. I highly recommend La Colina Dental, not just for expensive procedures such as implants, but for everything including cavities, cleaning and whitening. They are just exceptional. As a follow up to my previous post. I want to explain my experience on my second visit. This visit included quite a bit of work. I worked with a few doctors and many of the dental assistants. The experience was just exceptional. And the results are amazing. Special recognition for Dr Luisana Echandi. She is highly skilled and a perfectionist. She explains every step of the process and fine tunes her work until it is absolutely perfect. Dr Fonseca is also just amazing and makes surgery easy and painless. I can’t recommend Colina Dental high enough. They will make you smile! (Sorry for the bad joke but it’s true)

Dr Luisiana was thorough, skillful and did a superb job! (during my recent checkup in the US, the dentist commented how 'beautiful' the onlays and crown were done). Having a modern dental lab in-house is a very important factor to consider and turned out to be a huge plus. One crown had to be remade for a better fit, and they got it done very quickly within a few hours. The dental office is comfortable and at a convenient location in Escazú. We went during the Labor Day weekend in September and did day trips around Costa Rica in-between the dental appointments.

ent my dental X-rays to my contact, Dr. Gaby (her nickname!) for pre-evaluation and further discussion on the clinical/dental process options available to me. We used WhatsApp to text and speak to each other over the phone. There is often more than one solution to a problem! This is an amazing Clinic! I can’t say enough about their professionalism and positive vibes! I arrived from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on Sunday, September 3, 2023 and housed at the Colina Inn which is conveniently located beside the clinic (see my review of the Inn) and most affordable. Summary: As soon as I arrived at the clinic on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. for my preliminary appointment and case review the team made me feel comfortable and based on their approach of my case, I knew I had made the right decision to select Colina from other clinics. I won’t go through all the dental details and work that I needed. However I can say that the team and I came up with the better plan that suited my needs. This included major surgery with multiple extractions and to prepare my gums with the implants. The teeth will be done once the healing is completed. Usually, this process takes approx. 12 weeks. So I will be back in January 2024 for the second and final phase of my dental work. Surgery day: The following day (yes! that quick!) at 8:00 a.m. was the surgery! Dr. Fonseca and Dra. Echandi were ready to greet me! They are so nice and comforting. I knew I was in good hands. I also met with Dr. Elzondo, I did meet him …. Very courteous and polite as well; then he put me to sleep! All the team was so polite, professional, and very sensitive to my needs. Of course the small quaint surgery room was cooler. They even brought me a cozy blanket for me to stay warm… And very happy to say that the surgery was successfully completed. A few factors about the surgery room: Very clean and sterilized Equipment very organized and sealed Big window for sun to shine in! Beautiful large painting of greens, aquas, navy, gold and royal blue on the wall gives this surgical room calm and home-like feel. Post-operation appointment: Thursday morning first thing at 9:00 a.m. I had my post-operation appointment with the surgical team. They were all quite happy with the healing process! I must admit that I followed the surgeons’ instructions to a T, including taking the prescribed medications, applying ice bags regularly and I also used my miracle swelling cream Arnicare that I purchased on Amazon.ca. It is natural and truly works wonders! The owner: I met Madame Colina herself on multiple occasions. She came at the Inn on some nights to make sure I was ok and to see if I needed anything at all! A very kind, considerate and familiar gesture. These people are genuine … Throughout my stay, it was said to me multiple times that if I had medical problems, bleeding, etc… the team was literally steps away. I also had Dr. Gaby’s business cell number in case of emergency. I appreciated knowing this, certainly reassuring! Stay tuned for part two at the beginning of 2024! I am from Atlanta Georgia and it’s can be difficult traveling so far to get dental work done, but she gave me all the information I needed to ease the travel. This dentistry is family oriented and makes you feel loved. The dental assistants are top notch. I truly feel this office went above and beyond for me, and they will for you too!
