I do not recommend this place. During wisdom tooth surgery, they had no plan of action, much less a case study, and instead, they harmed the patient for two hours experimenting, without considering the potential consequences. This resulted in severe bleeding because they opened tissue that wasn't even near the wisdom tooth. Experienced professionals had to be called in to help close the wounds caused by this malpractice. And to top it all off, they offered a nonsensical solution, scheduling an appointment for the next day without considering that the patient could be seriously ill within hours. They showed no prudence, unlike the professional they claim to be. What happened is completely unethical and unprofessional. Terrible service. You don't play games with people's health. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Response from the owner 3 years agoThank you for your message. I would like to inform you that the situation has already been resolved with the patient. First, I have over 10 years of experience and my dental degree, which qualifies me to perform this procedure. However, it was not possible at the time to perform a complete tooth extraction. This was explained to the patient, and that was the reason why they were scheduled for the next day's extraction. How can this happen? This is common, not malpractice. If you review the complications of wisdom tooth surgery, you will find that it can happen. The patient was given post-operative instructions. He was doing completely well with no bleeding. He was in the clinic for about 10 to 15 minutes while the medication was prescribed without any problems. About an hour after this, the patient wrote to me that he was bleeding. He was initially given the instruction that if the bleeding was heavy, he should go to a hospital (since it was nighttime and the clinic was closed). The patient confirmed that he was managing it with gauze and ice. He was consulted again, and at no point did he mention that it was heavy. I didn't find out about the situation until the next day, and I immediately contacted the patient. There are risks, as with any treatment; this is different from malpractice. I find it unbelievable that a place called "Great Smiles" is the same one that, in just two hours last Friday, February 3rd, extinguished the hopeful smile of one of its patients, subjecting him and his family to a time of pain, uncertainty, and helplessness; without any medical or ethical responsibility on the part of this establishment. Having performed wisdom tooth surgery without prior evaluation and without the supervision of a maxillofacial surgeon, in addition to a series of irregular cuts in the gum, caused this patient to suffer severe bleeding and four decompensations due to blood loss and ingestion during the surgery. The procedure was even left unfinished, as after two hours of surgery and constant bleeding, over 90% of the tooth was still in place. The "dentist," surnamed Castillo, who was in charge of the procedure, decided, without consulting any other colleagues, to send the patient home with the bleeding still present and without medical supervision, telling him to return the next day at 10:30 am to continue the surgery. Frankly, this place doesn't deserve to be called a dental clinic, as their unethical and unprofessional practices call into question the quality of the work done there. Thank God, and thanks to the collaboration of top-notch professionals from the Emergency Department of another medical center in the early hours of the morning, this patient's anguish and helplessness were addressed and successfully stabilized. Therefore, what was done at the "Great Smiles" clinic could have cost this person their life. Places like "Great Smiles," characterized by their mediocrity and unprofessionalism, where they try to extract money from patients with sweet talk and empty promises, are the ones that should be reported so that others don't have to endure the same suffering and pain as this person and their family. I can only conclude that this place IS NOT RECOMMENDED!!!! And that it should close its doors if it decides to continue treating its patients in the unprofessional and irresponsible manner it is currently doing…

They performed wisdom tooth surgery and didn't properly assess the case. They sent the patient home with a couple of stitches and told him to come back the next day. The problem was that the incisions were very deep, almost reaching the back of the throat, and the patient was bleeding heavily. It was irresponsible of the doctor to send him home like that instead of addressing the issue immediately by contacting the specialist she needed. Thankfully, the patient was taken to another medical center for emergency treatment, where they confirmed it was malpractice and that the situation could have been much worse if they hadn't acted quickly.

I DO NOT recommend this place!! Surgery on a single wisdom tooth took 2 hours, and they did nothing but mistreat the patient without extracting the tooth, as the dentist suggested using a maxillofacial doctor she hadn't considered from the start. However, the procedure lasted 2 hours without performing the procedure, only worsening what had already started poorly. The dentist was unable to perform the procedure and sent the patient home with an open wound, causing severe bleeding. He ended up being treated in the emergency room of a hospital, where they told us the procedure was *MALPRACTICE* by the dentist, as the gum was even torn, and they had to stitch the beginning of the throat. Human errors happen; the most regrettable thing is the lack of ethics and professional irresponsibility with which they handled the situation. Transparency in communicating the seriousness of the situation and not sending the patient home with so much bleeding that it almost cost a life would have been appreciated. For serious procedures with medical support, I recommend finding another dental office with more experienced and professional professionals. Please save yourself from such bitter moments without professional guarantees.
