“may” charge extra fees. It’s not so common for a teeth cleaning but I don’t know what it’s supposed to do so I was ok with it. At the end, I paid 1050RM, with cleaning and some x-rays. Service was good and doctor is kind and explained what she was doing, but this upsell aggressiveness makes no sense and I felt scammed. I paid more than 4x original rate. Be aware of it if you want to go there.

were closed on the Sunday and so I was pleased that this dentist could see me straight away. I made it clear that I had been in pain and was still in pain although the paracetamol was helping. Even I knew what the source of the pain was - a single tooth, loose and visibly blackened with inflammation around that specific area. I didn't need to be a dental expert to identify that. Before I went I was pretty sure it would require extraction and would have immediately accepted that. I emphasised that I was heading to Indonesia the following day and wanted the matter resolved as quickly as possible. That, however, is not what transpired. What was required, apparently, was a full gum examination which comprised five x-rays at RM60 a time (that was an improvement since the dentist at first claimed that it may require nine). I was then given a long talk about dental hygiene, recommendations as to the purchase of a battery-powered toothbrush, the correct methods for brushing teeth, long involved explanations about the x-rays of areas that were not of immediate concern, criticisms of treatment in another country, and lengthy discussions pertaining to future treatment. After an hour and a half I was prescribed anti-biotics and ibuprofen, the latter, I think, available over the counter of any pharmacy. Even at this point, I waited an unacceptable length of time - witnessed - for those prescriptions to be given in addition to a further prescription which [1] the dentist did not have and [2] no other pharmacy in the area had in the quantities that had been prescribed. The dentist had gone off to write out everything that had already been said, came back and said she wanted to go through all of this again by which point I could barely stand or speak owing to the pain. Then, and only then, was a single ibuprofen finally administered. The ibuprofen did not work even when more were taken and I spent the entire night awake and in pain, evidenced by whatsapp messages sent to their practice for the record at midnight and 2.30am. The following morning I went to another dentist in Bukit Bintang who took one look at the one tooth which was the problem, extracted it, and prescribed stronger painkillers and antibiotics. Furthermore, he did raise his eyebrows when he heard of the need for five x-rays, as had I since never has such an extensive number been required especially when the source of the pain was unquestionable. And he charged one third of the price of the previous dentist. The purpose of going to the dentist was to alleviate the pain as soon as possible; the second dentist did that, the first one did not. Artius Dental Clinic, in my view, failed to identify immediate need and provide rapid treatment. They responded in their whatsapp messages: "Given the time constraint of your flight schedule, we were not able to administer any dental/surgical treatment including charting and attending to the lower right molar with the peri-apical infection and large root caries." They never asked about the flight schedule. All they knew was that I was going to Indonesia the next day. In addition, it only takes a few minutes to extract a tooth which is what they should have done. They were prefectly capable of administering surgical treatment and their whatsapp message clearly implies that. If a tooth is loose, black, causing throbbing pain and inflammation then I'm staggered they chose not to address that but rather led me to believe that the medication they had given would be temporarily sufficient. Their message ended: "We sincerely hope you find the right dentist that will attend to you in a timely manner and help alleviate the pain soonest possible!" I did.

f were all professional and courteous. My dentist Dr Fatima, was fantastic. She took the time to explain the procedure to me thoroughly and answered all of my questions with patience and expertise. They made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process and checked in with me regularly to ensure I was doing okay. The tooth extraction itself went smoothly, and I experienced minimal discomfort thanks to the skill and care of Dr Fatima and her assistant Elaine. After the procedure, they provided me with clear instructions on how to care for the extraction site and what to expect during the healing process. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience at Artius Dental Clinic. The friendly staff, comfortable environment, and excellent care provided by the dentist made what could have been a stressful experience much more manageable. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need of dental care.
