e clinic in Budapest: 1. The dentist who was treating me (different dentist from Dr. Zoltan Olah who I met in Oslo) told me he wanted to deviate significantly from the original treatment plan. This to me is totally unacceptable to present at the time I arrive to execute the treatment plan we agreed on in Oslo. If there are any uncertainties related to the treatment, this should have been addressed and priced long before I arrive to execute on an agreed treatment plan. Presenting an alternative treatment plan out of the blue when I sit in the chair to execute the agreed plan I would say is very unprofessional: It created a great uncertainty in me around what is happening. 2. Due to what is described above, I decided to get a second opinion around the treatment plan from Soldent. This included X-rays (X-rays were also taken at Soldent at my arrival). The second opinion based on the X-ray taken expressed among other things great concern over a severe and very visible infection in one of my second molars and told me this tooth should be removed as soon as possible to avoid spreading to nearby teeth. My second opinion also expressed surprise that my previous dentist(s) had not commented and done anything about this infected second molar. I did not tell my second opinion about my trip to Soldent in Budapest. But I was now in shock that Soldent did not inform me about this problem when X-rays were taken at Soldent. So, my conclusion was that either Soldent did not see this in the X-rays or Soldent saw it, but decided not to inform me and not to do anything about it. In both cases, leaving me with a potential big future problem. This second incident unfortunately made it impossible for me to return to Soldent since it made me lose all faith in them giving me a good and secure treatment. I got several phone calls, emails and text-messages from Soldent including from the head of Soldent asking me to come back to continue treatment, but this was as most people can understand no longer possible. I also noticed in my communication with Soldent that they never commented on the information I got from the second opinion: That the X-ray showed a major infection in the second molar. And I really expected some comment on this from Soldent, but all I got from Soldent was that "my case was not a simple one". But if my case was not a simple one this should have been handled long before I sit in the chair to execute on an agreed treatment plan. So, I had wasted time and money to go to Budapest for a dental treatment at a clinic that I was no longer comfortable with. So, I will never use Soldent again. And one of my collegues who asked me before I went to Budapest to give him feedback on the clinic have now been told never to use Soldent.

However, we understand that what happened after your arrival in Budapest created frustration and concern. Regarding the treatment plan: in some cases, a clinical examination and new radiographs taken on site may reveal findings that were not fully visible or assessable during the initial consultation abroad. When this happens, our ethical responsibility as dentists is to reassess and propose what we believe is the safest and most appropriate treatment — even if this means modifying the original plan. This is never done lightly, and always with the patient’s long-term oral health as the primary priority. We understand that receiving new information at that moment may feel unsettling, and we regret if this was not explained clearly enough. Concerning the infection you mention: patient safety is our highest priority. Any suspected infection visible on radiographs is always clinically evaluated in combination with symptoms, vitality tests, and overall treatment planning. Radiographic interpretation can sometimes vary between professionals, especially in complex cases. We take your concern seriously and would have welcomed the opportunity to review the findings together and clarify any misunderstanding. We respect your decision to seek a second opinion — this is every patient’s right. However, we are genuinely sorry that trust was lost before we could fully address your concerns and provide clarification. Our intention with follow-up calls and messages was not to pressure you, but to ensure your health was not compromised and to offer further discussion with our clinical team. We continuously work to improve communication and patient experience, and your feedback — even when difficult — helps us do that. 08.12.2025: First day was teeth cleaning and panoramic x-ray. Best teeth cleaning, like getting a massage. The day after sinus lift and implant insertion. Painless, I had a resting heart rate in the dentist's chair. No pain, bruising, discomfort or bleeding. Was able to go to the Christmas market after relaxing for 4 hours. Definitely a different experience than back home in Norway. Not only is it much cheaper but also more comfortable. You get your own assistant who explains and helps - in Norwegian.
