We want to share my partner’s recent experience (August 2025) with the “flexible denture” procedure at this dental practice. During her first visit, the dentist explained the available denture options and recommended flexible dentures as the most suitable based on her situation. One key reason for choosing flexible dentures was that they promised a more natural fit, blending seamlessly with her…

existing teeth, unlike the thicker, stiffer acrylic alternatives. However, after the procedure, the dentures appeared thicker and had some visible protrusion in her mouth. Upon closer inspection, the overlap of the dentures was visible on her upper gum, and the exterior of her upper lips seemed slightly protruded. We had another appointment to address this issue, where the dentist revealed that such protrusion is expected with this procedure and that nothing could be done to correct it. Had we known this critical information upfront, we would not have proceeded with the procedure. We were also disappointed that this was not communicated initially. When we mentioned this, the dentist said she was not privy to what was discussed at the initial appointment, which we found surprising, as there should be records maintained for follow-up care. We are disappointed with the outcome, especially since the flexible denture procedure cost more than the regular option and fell far short of our expectations. While we have noticed many positive reviews for this practice, those may pertain to more common dental procedures. We would advise caution and recommend clarifying details thoroughly before committing to more specialized treatments and investing hard-earned money. My partner has even advised two of her friends, who were potential clients, about this experience. We are considering other available avenues to escalate this matter. Ms Disgruntled 😫

Thank you for sharing your partner’s recent experience. We are sorry to hear that the final result did not meet your expectations. To clarify, your partner was shown the proposed design during the try-in stage and was made aware of the appearance and fit of the denture prior to proceeding with the final version. Flexible dentures, like all removable prosthetics, require a layer over the gum area to ensure proper retention. This is a standard feature and not a fault in the denture. Without this structural component, the denture would not remain stable or functional during normal use. We still stand by our professional advice that a flexible denture was a more suitable option with flexible clasps given VS the usual acrylic denture, which is thicker and would require metal clasps in that region, which would not be aesthetically pleasing and even more bulky. All clinical records, patients’ responses during the try-in stage, the issue denture day, and including photographs of before and after were taken to ensure accuracy and are documented. We will be happy to share if needed. Based on how flexible dentures are designed to look and function, this case represents an ideal outcome. Furthermore, once the denture was issued, your partner was asked if she was satisfied with the result, to which she confirmed her agreement to proceed. We acknowledge that aesthetic outcomes can be subjective, and while we always aim to achieve the best possible result, it’s important to understand the limitations of any prosthetic appliance compared to natural teeth. However, in this case, we are confident that we did no harm and the aesthetic outcome is pleasing and most ideal. This is the best we can do for a removable prosthesis. Lastly, we would like to address the threatening manner in which concerns were raised during the follow-up visit to our doctor. Our team treats all patients and their companions with respect and courtesy, and we expect the same in return. Intimidating or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

I took my 17-year-old son to get his teeth cleaned. He did have a mouth ulcer on his gum, and the dentist recommended an X-ray. It's the first time I've seen a mouth ulcer requiring an X-ray; the clinic seems only interested in making money. We got the most expensive cleaning, 280 yuan plus a 40 yuan consultation fee.

Hi Ms. Viki, thank you for your feedback. To clarify your concern — your appointment was initially scheduled for 9:30 AM, but the patient arrived close to 12 PM. Despite being outside the scheduled time, we accommodated and ensured your son was still seen. Upon examination, our doctor identified a lesion with sinus in the upper premolar region (tooth 14), not a mouth ulcer. For accurate diagnosis and to rule out infection or deeper issues, an X-ray was recommended — which was declined by both patient and parent. Hence, no X-ray was taken. Regarding the cleaning, our team clearly explained the two options: standard scaling & polishing, or the EMS Painless Oral Spa, which is more comfortable and uses advanced technology. The EMS treatment was chosen after verbal agreement, with full fee transparency (RM280 + consultation RM40). We are committed to providing ethical care based on clinical findings and prioritizing patient comfort. We respectfully request that reviews reflect facts, as misinformation can impact the trust of other patients. Thank you for your understanding.
