OdontoLAR Home Care Odontologico is a dental service with a unique and socially significant model: instead of patients traveling to a clinic, the dentists bring the clinic to the patient. Based at Rua Carlos Eduardo Monteiro de Lemos, 135, Jardim da Penha, Vitoria, Espirito Santo, and operating since 2001, OdontoLAR is a pioneer of home-care dental services in the greater Vitoria metropolitan area, with over 7,000 patient visits on record. The service covers private residences, hospital rooms and ICUs, nursing homes and geriatric residential facilities, hotels, businesses, rehabilitation centers, and psychiatric clinics — any setting where a patient cannot or chooses not to travel to a traditional dental clinic.
The practice was co-founded by Dra. Cristiane Vasconcellos Caspar Nobre, a specialist in odontogeriatrics, geriatrics and gerontology, dental prosthetics, and public health, who holds a Master's degree in Integrated Clinical Dentistry and additional post-graduate qualifications in laser therapy, hospital dentistry, aesthetic dentistry, and endodontics. Dra. Cristiane has been recognized as an expert voice on home-care and geriatric dentistry in Espirito Santo, featured in media coverage of this pioneering service model. OdontoLAR operates Monday to Friday 08:00–20:00 and is reachable via WhatsApp for scheduling.
Home Care Dental Model
OdontoLAR's defining feature is the delivery of professional dental care using state-of-the-art portable equipment that enables virtually any standard dental procedure to be performed safely and effectively outside a traditional clinic. The portable setup includes compact dental chairs, portable suction, digital X-ray equipment, and all instruments and materials required for diagnosis and treatment. The clinical quality, safety, and hygiene standards maintained are equivalent to those of a fixed dental facility. Patients receive care in the comfort and familiarity of their own environment — eliminating the logistical barriers of transportation, parking, waiting rooms, and the physical demands of travel that can make traditional dental visits genuinely impossible for some patient groups.
Target Patient Groups
OdontoLAR's home-care model is designed for patient populations whose access to traditional dental clinics is limited by mobility, health, or circumstance. The service explicitly covers: elderly patients who struggle with mobility or transportation; bedridden and mobility-impaired individuals unable to physically travel; hospitalized and ICU patients requiring dental intervention during inpatient care; nursing home and geriatric facility residents who lack regular dental access; patients with dental phobia who find in-clinic environments deeply distressing; and corporate clients requiring dental care delivered at the workplace. Dra. Cristiane's specialist training in odontogeriatrics makes OdontoLAR particularly well-equipped for the specific oral health challenges of older adult patients — including dry mouth, prosthetic needs, and the interaction between systemic health conditions and oral health in this population.
Services Offered
OdontoLAR performs a comprehensive range of dental procedures in the home or institutional setting. Prophylaxis and cleaning remove plaque, calculus, and surface stains, maintaining periodontal health and preventing disease progression. Digital radiography using portable imaging equipment provides the diagnostic information required for treatment planning without the patient needing to visit a radiology facility. Tooth extractions address teeth damaged beyond restoration, infected, or requiring removal for spacing. Root canal treatment (endodontics) preserves teeth affected by pulpal infection by removing infected tissue, cleaning and sealing the canal system. Cavity treatment (restorations) addresses dental caries with composite or other restorative materials. Dental implants are also offered within the portable service model. The service extends to any other clinically necessary dental procedure that can be safely performed outside a fixed clinic environment.
Hospital and Institutional Dentistry
Hospital dentistry — odontologia hospitalar — is a recognized specialty area in which dentists work within hospital environments to manage dental conditions in patients who are admitted for other medical reasons, and to provide pre-surgical dental clearance and ICU oral care. OdontoLAR's model directly addresses this need in Espirito Santo, providing dental care to hospitalized patients within their wards or rooms without requiring transfer to a dental department. Dra. Cristiane's post-graduate training in hospital dentistry reflects the specialized clinical knowledge required to manage dental care safely within the complex medical context of hospitalized patients — including considerations of medication interactions, bleeding risks, and infection control in immunocompromised or critically ill individuals.
