I have known were coming for years. Dr. Obando is a very talented dentist with impeccable manners and a NYU graduate. Strongly recommend him if you are thinking of going to Costa Rica for dental work.

able to save and “rebuild” several teeth that the dentist in the US said needed to be pulled. My business partner took my advice too, joined me on my last trip, and got his new crowns at Nova Dental. One of my sisters also joined me and got a check up and cleaning. We are all big fans. Can I give them 100 stars? All dentist and oral surgeons speak fluent English. It’s in a little plaza with great restaurants and my favorite new chocolate shop. The pharmacy is also in the plaza. I got X-rays of my teeth in the US, emailed them to Nova Dental, they gave me an estimate, and we took it from there. It is located in Escazu, an exclusive neighborhood in the capitol city of San Jose with great shopping and plenty to do before and after the appointments. Thank you Nova Dental!

forward. I needed a lot of work done, and all the doctors and staff were of the highest caliber of training and work. All of them spoke excellent English (including all those dental words!!), but what's even more important is that they were all KIND and friendly. I wish I'd met them years ago. I literally never want to see another dentist again. A few more points to share: - Between my husband and I, we had 5 implants, 4 fillings, a root canal, and a crown and spent around $6,000 in total. In the US, *with our insurance* the total would have been $23K. - Their fancy wrap-around x-rays were complementary (in the US they charge $200 for that!)- When I had my fillings done, they were replaced with a beautiful white material instead of the ugly mercury fillings they always do in the US. I plan to return and have my other fillings replaced as well! - Dr. Chaverria is the gentlest dentist in the WORLD. The way he handles the mouth and the teeth is as if he were handling newborn babies. I've never had a more pleasant experience getting my teeth drilled! :) - I had one crown put in (so far) -- it was measured electronically and made out of zirconium on a special 3-D printer. I had it put in 2 days later -- it is an absolute delight and looks better than the rest of my teeth!- Implant surgery was quicker than a root canal and impeccably done. Dr. Obando who does the implants, is very friendly, warm, and kind. We chatted about life and I forgot to be nervous about dental work, which normally causes me intense anxiety. He was done putting in 4 implants in maybe an hour.- Dr. Truque did an extensive root canal on a tooth that otherwise wouldn't have made it. She was very kind and sweet, and I felt like I was in excellent hands. There is a TV screen mounted to the ceiling, and although you can't fully see it because of all the dental equipment in the way, it was still fun to watch what I could. - There is a pharmacy very close to the clinic where we were able to pick up the needed medications (antibiotics, painkillers) for after the procedures, and all went super well. A course of antibiotics was less than $20 USD, and the opiate painkillers around the same. (All required prescriptions, which the doctors gave, along with printed, very clear instructions that were put into a nice folder.) We will be returning in a few months for our final crowns over the implants. I truly cannot wait. This is the first time in my life that I've felt that I fully and truly trust the dentist and actually look forward to going. Enormous gratitude to Nova Dental!!

immensely impressed by the reception I received. The staff were organized and professional. The layout of the facility was top notch-- clean, airy, modern. My dental treatment consisted of crowns and root canal. Dr Truque, Endodontist , was professional and her bedside manner was first rate. She utilized the WAnd Technology to administer the anesthesia , something I had never experienced before. We all have some anxiety when it comes to dental anesthesia, but with this mode of delivery, there was minimal discomfort , if any. Dr Chavarria performed my crowns over a 5 day period and explained very step in detail. Monday was prep of crowns, Wed was trial fitting, and Frid final fitting. He utilized the latest technology to perform his work, including the use of 3D imaging/casting of crowns prior to final placement. Im thoroughly pleased with my experience at Nova Dental and they come with my highest recommendation. My brother plans to visit soon to have his work done.

Quite recently I visited them for another implant matter, and on the day I left, I was quite worried about making my return flight. They actually opened earlier that day, and Dr. Obando did his work quickly but skillfully, and this contributed greatly to me making my flight! That's what kind of people they are: Friendly and accommodating, but also very professional and competent! And the facility is very nice, with state of the art equipment! Look, I know this is a big step, but look at it this way. Your work with them will be a pleasant experience, you'll be pleased with their work, and it will be done at a reasonable cost. And you'll have all the excitement and adventure of of Costa Rica at your disposal! Kinda sounds like a no-brainer doesn't it?

Javier replace 10 fillings(that sounds weird right?) He was so friendly and gentle and the philosophy here seems to be to protect the natural tooth as much as possible. I love that. I came in with bloated estimates from other dentists (from the states and CR) and I wound up not needing anything major. I have been quoted as needing root canal, extractions, crowns, and implants. None of which I needed. The office is spotless and attractive and the staff were amazing. I plan on coming back for any major dental work and I’m bringing my husband the next time he needs dental work. The reviews are accurate. I really can’t recommend this place enough and I’m so grateful that other peoples reviews gave me the courage to travel alone. I must sound ridiculous but My dental vacation turns out to be one of my favorite vacations of all time. Go figure

t either of us have ever seen. I came to get a root canal and a several crowns. Turns out I really only needed one, which is a huge turn from most dentists I had seen who would almost always recommend more than what I needed. I got the root canal with Dr. Truque, which was completely painless and she even was able to recognize an issue with my bite that has been missed for my entire life. I plan to get that corrected when I got back to the US. Dr. Chavarría did the remainder of my dental work and it was all perfect and painless! I also got my teeth whitened, with amazing results! I would recommend Nova to anyone and I will be back in 6 months to finish my girlfriends implant!

were not straight but beautiful zirconium crowns made them straight! It looks amazing! I live in California and dental treatment costs 3 times or more than Nova dental. Also Nova dental is the most clean and beautiful dentist office I had never been. He is a very sincere and friendly person. Also assistant Tañya was very sweet too. I have already recommended to my friends to fly to Nova dental!
