We are glad that you were satisfied with the treatment of your son, and we are sorry that the result of your treatment was not what you and we would have liked. We would like to politely clarify the situation described: Regarding the treatment of the lower wisdom tooth (tooth 38) At the beginning of the treatment, you were informed that tooth 38 (lower wisdom tooth) was not promising for long-term preservation and extraction (removal) was recommended, precisely in order to avoid possible subsequent complications. At your explicit insistence, instead of the recommended extraction, a decision was made to try treatment and preservation of the tooth, despite the explanation that root canal treatment of a wisdom tooth is not an optimal option. It was explained at the very beginning that the caries was visibly very deep and that when cleaning it, the nerve would inevitably be reached, which is what happened. Due to the complex anatomy and the fact that it is a multi-rooted tooth (wisdom tooth), you were referred to an endodontist at our clinic. At this visit, a pulpectomy was performed and subsequent appointments were scheduled to continue and complete the treatment. It is important to note that quality root canal treatment of a multi-rooted tooth, especially with a more complex anatomy such as a wisdom tooth, cannot be successfully completed in one visit – treatment is required in several consecutive visits. Before the procedure, you were warned that it is entirely possible that there will be a period of pain and severe discomfort in the following days. When you called with complaints after the visit, an antibiotic was prescribed, in accordance with standard practice in such cases. After an internal check on our part, we found that the prescription was not filled at the pharmacy, and that you did not appear at the subsequent appointments in which we were supposed to continue and complete the treatment. As a result, neither the medical nor the conservative approach to controlling the symptoms was completed, which significantly limited our ability to achieve a good and stable final result. When treating the other tooth, the caries were extremely deep and close to the nerve, which is why it was explained to you at the beginning that a longer period of sensitivity and discomfort is possible, especially when chewing. In order not to rush to the death of the tooth (root canal treatment), in such cases it is advisable to wait out this period of sensitivity to allow the tooth to calm down and maintain its vitality. In case of persistent or worsening complaints, it is recommended that the patient return for a follow-up examination so that the condition can be reassessed and, if necessary, the treatment adjusted. We fully respect your right to share a negative experience and understand that for you this situation was associated with pain, stress and additional costs. At the same time, we must note that the decision to keep the wisdom tooth instead of the recommended extraction, as well as the interruption of the treatment that has been started and the failure to complete the prescribed antibiotic therapy, are factors that objectively affect the final result. After conducting an internal check, we found the following: there was a delay of about 30 minutes for the appointment you reserved. Despite the very busy schedule that day, we offered you a new appointment for 3:20 p.m. the same day, taking into account your delay and including you among already booked patients - which meant a shorter break for the doctor and assistant. In the end, you arrived at the clinic about 30 minutes after the originally arranged appointment, and shortly after you left the clinic without informing the reception about any dissatisfaction. Later in the day, we received your feedback. On our part, we tried to be understanding and flexible in order to serve you despite the delay and busy schedule. Therefore, we believe that the situation described in the rating you left does not fully reflect the real efforts we have made.
