HIU Dental Clinic

HIU Dental Clinic is the clinical dental centre of Hong Bang International University (HIU), one of Ho Chi Minh City's established private international universities. The flagship clinic is located at 299 Dien Bien Phu Street, Ward 15, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, and opened at this address in January 2024 following an initial campus-based launch in October 2022. The clinic operates as both a community dental practice and a clinical training centre for HIU dental graduates, staffed by the university's own faculty including professors, PhD-qualified dentists, and specialist physicians. The legal entity is Hong Bang Medical-Dental-Pharmaceutical Services Co., Ltd., and the practice holds Medical Practice Licence 09033/HCM-GPHDH from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health.

The clinical facility is equipped to European infection control and sterilization standards. Equipment includes a Cone Beam CT 3D imaging system for implant planning and complex diagnoses, a digital 3D intraoral scanner for impression-free restorations, a Fotona laser surgical unit for soft tissue procedures and gum treatment, a Piezotome piezoelectric system for atraumatic bone surgery and extractions, and plasma/LED chair-side whitening units. The clinic operates 35 dental chairs across its clinical and simulation training areas, and covers 52 treatment categories approved by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health. The initial fit-out investment was approximately 20 billion VND.

Dental implants use Nobel Biocare and BioCare systems, both of which are formal supply and training partnerships for the clinic. Nobel Biocare is one of the world's leading premium implant brands, and the partnership includes ongoing clinical training for HIU-affiliated dentists. Single-tooth implants and implant-supported prosthetics are available. Porcelain crown and veneer services include metal-ceramic, titanium-ceramic, zirconia, Cercon HT, and Lava Plus options. Porcelain veneers are offered using a no-preparation technique for minimal-intervention cosmetic cases.

Orthodontic treatment covers the full range: traditional metal braces, self-ligating metal brackets, ceramic braces, self-ligating ceramic systems, and clear aligner therapy. Cosmetic services include chair-side and at-home teeth whitening, gummy smile correction, and laser gum contouring using the Fotona unit. Restorative and general services cover root canal treatment, composite fillings, ultrasonic scaling and periodontal maintenance, minor oral surgery, wisdom tooth extraction, and complete removable dentures. Pediatric dentistry is offered across all general care categories.

The senior clinical team includes Associate Professor PGS.TS.BS Le Duc Lanh, who serves as Head of the HIU Dentistry Faculty and is a directly treating clinician at the clinic. Specialist Level II dentist BS.CKII Nguyen Ngoc Thuy acts as Deputy Head of the faculty and supervises clinical training sessions. ThS. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Deputy Rector of HIU University, serves concurrently as Director of the company entity. The academic staffing model means that patients are treated by practising faculty who also hold formal teaching roles, rather than by registrars or trainees working independently.

HIU's dental faculty has established international exchange programs with universities in South Korea and Japan, adding an international academic dimension to the training environment.
