Why Choose Fogorvosi Ugyelet Gyor in Győr?

Public out-of-hours dental emergency service in Gyor, open evenings on weekdays and mornings on weekends and holidays.

Fogorvosi Ugyelet Gyor is the public out-of-hours dental emergency service serving the city of Gyor and the surrounding Gyor-Moson-Sopron County area in northwest Hungary. The service operates outside the hours of regular dental practices, providing after-hours urgent dental care for residents who develop acute dental problems in the evenings, on weekends, or during public holidays when private and public dental clinics are otherwise closed.

The service is located at Liezen-Mayer utca 57 in Gyor, at a dedicated facility separate from the main hospital campus. The address is accessible by public transportation within the city. The phone number for the service is 06-96-417-316, which patients can use to confirm current duty hours or seek guidance before attending.

Operating hours for the dental emergency service are Monday through Friday from 8pm to 10pm, and Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays from 9am to 3pm. These hours are specifically designed to fill the gap when regular dental practices are closed, covering the evening period on working days and the extended weekend morning window when most private clinics do not operate.

The scope of treatment at the emergency service focuses on acute dental problems requiring same-day intervention. This includes severe toothache from infected or abscessed teeth, dental trauma such as broken or knocked-out teeth, lost fillings or crowns causing pain or sensitivity, soft tissue injuries in the mouth, and swelling associated with dental infection. The service provides urgent relief treatment and, where appropriate, refers patients to their regular dentist or to a specialist for follow-up care.

Hungary operates a national public dental emergency duty system (fogorvosi ugyelet) in major cities, ensuring that patients can access basic acute dental care at any hour without requiring a private appointment. In Gyor, this public duty service operates alongside the broader emergency healthcare network centred on the Petz Aladar County Teaching Hospital, which provides emergency medical and surgical services across all disciplines.

For international visitors and dental tourists in Gyor, the fogorvosi ugyelet provides a safety net for unexpected dental emergencies that arise outside normal clinic hours. Hungary's strong private dental sector means that most planned dental work is performed at private clinics during normal business hours, but the public emergency service exists to handle acute situations regardless of whether a patient holds private insurance or is using the national health system.

Gyor is one of Hungary's largest cities, located approximately 120 kilometres west of Budapest and about 120 kilometres east of Vienna, making it accessible from both the Hungarian capital and from Austria. The city has a well-developed private dental sector serving both local patients and international visitors attracted by Hungary's substantially lower dental costs compared to Western Europe, with savings of 40 to 65 percent on procedures such as implants, crowns, and orthodontics versus equivalent Austrian or German private dental pricing.

The Fogorvosi Ugyelet Gyor is an essential public health resource for after-hours urgent dental care in the region, operating as part of Hungary's municipal healthcare duty system to ensure that acute dental pain and trauma can be addressed promptly regardless of the time of day or week.

My opinion on the care 0 A 70-80 year old "dentist" with shaking hands will start to tell me I smoke and won't touch my mouth until I rinse it out because it smells like cigarettes, the injection was very good with shaking hands, she almost pierced my lower lip, the lidocaine didn't even help, I almost peed in it, she couldn't even pull a tooth because she broke the root inside, now I can go to oral surgery with her ...... Whoever can, let him suffer, but I don't recommend this place to anyone ....

We were there today. The old lady (dentist on duty) should be ashamed of herself. What right does she have to say who smokes or who doesn't. I hope her family smokes cigarettes properly. She should retire, or if not, she should have her teeth pulled NORMALLY. She shouldn't do half-hearted work. Her style is unbecoming of a doctor.

I was present as a direct relative (mostly in the waiting room, as the doctor immediately sent me out of the office, without giving me a chance to discuss my complaints). I find it annoying that since there is no possibility to transfer to another place due to the area, we are forced to receive such care. The style, conscientiousness, and I would venture to say even the expertise are questionable. The doctor occasionally does her job incorrectly (filling out referrals, other documents), is limited in her ability to ask questions or make corrections, and does not even leave room for discussion beyond her usual ideas. The phone is not answered because "we are not used to answering it". The work ethic of a warehouse worker working below minimum wage rivals hers; she is arrogant, condescending, and apparently has an unstable nervous system. Although it's probably too late for that, I would suggest that you choose a career with less responsibility. Due to their unavailability on the phone, we can already cross call centers off the list. All in all, they can probably force even the most peaceful person to the level of personalization with their slightly bloodthirsty style. They look at the patient as stupid, and if by chance someone with whom they would have a harder time doing this comes into the picture, they will rather avoid the conversation. If you have a shirt, take it - although I could write this on a surface that will reach several places, and possibly your superior.

Wisdom tooth extraction in a private practice, after which he went on a ten-day sabbatical. All Saints' Day came... The place where the tooth was extracted hurts more every day, is inflamed, and has pus..another private doctor is doing a dental CT scan for 20 I think, so that he can see "better"??? I should bear it..Cataflam, Zinnat which I had at home. They pulled teeth and wisdom teeth another time, I forgot about it after a day or two. On the 5th day, the entire right-side denture wanted to "fall out"..oral surgery, a little prodding, a little encouragement, nothing much. By the evening, my patience was running out..it doesn't matter anymore. On 6th November 2019, the Emergency Department came. The Doctor FINALLY! She listened to me. She was incredibly kind, she saw the problem in a minute. The wound had to be cleaned! 20 minutes and everything is solved, pain is a thing of the past. Thanks Erte!

I am absolutely not satisfied with the attitude!!!! Their style is subpar, they cannot speak to you with a drop of kindness! If you can, avoid them!

Saturday morning, pediatrician's office: if the doctor can't speak normally, you should go to a veterinarian. I know there's a shortage of doctors, but it's still ridiculous that someone like that is prescribing for children.

The doctor and the assistant were very nice. We didn't have to wait at 11pm on a Sunday night. Looking at the other reviews, either I was very lucky or some people have too high expectations.

I went with follicular tonsillitis and a high fever, they called me in, and the older doctor with a mustache and his assistant argued with me for 10 minutes, asking how I dared to go there to seek care with such stupidity. They recommended that I go to the emergency room next time... I should add that I am a hospital employee, I am aware of the difference between emergency and on-call care. I came out of the office crying. They are inhumane! They even kick the patient in trouble. I wouldn't give them a single star!!!

A person who can't deal with people shouldn't become a doctor... Just because he learned something isn't enough for this profession. Only 2* because the doctor at the time had some humanity last time. I don't pay health insurance for fun either, I can only expect something in return.

This morning (Sunday) I woke up with a huge toothache, I wondered a lot, should I wait until tomorrow or risk going to the emergency room.. I read all the comments and I lost my nerve. Then the pain won. I went in at 10 am, complaining that my wisdom tooth hurt. (A piece of it broke off) The doctor examined me, said it should be pulled out, I was given a prescription. My tooth was out in 2 minutes. It didn't hurt at all, the doctor and the assistant were super nice.
