Part 2. Now I am biting my tongue on the left side. I paid for Strausmann crowns. You shaved my crowns on the lower left side to the point where they are flattened creating a jagged edge that bites my damn tongue. Whatever it takes, no matter how long, a complaint will get filed. All of that dental verbiage is just word salad. I should have stayed with Colombia, they're going to correct your errors. If you're considering dental treatment at Flikier Dental Institute, do so at your own risk. I almost broke the layer on my tongue, unbelievable.

I see a lot of great reviews. Good for you. I spent $11,250. 7 crowns, 6 implants, laser whitening, deep cleaning, 3 visits from the states. Only one out 7 was done perfectly which was my front left. I came based on the reviews I read, Howard was adamant about this dental office. I was set on Colombia. So 1st visit, initial surgery for implants, I feel the stitches just dangling in my mouth, so I asked could you cut it? The response was oh it'll dissolve. I'm like why not cut it, attention to detail, that became red flag #1. Benefit of the doubt. I'm thinking ok no issues from the implants as months go by until the 6th month for visit #2. I noticed the extreme difficulty Dr. Oriana Gonzalez was has having with fitting the crowns into place. Adjustments were necessary in which anyone costa understand, so finally success so I thought. The crowns felt off again with gaps and the surface of my Strausmann crowns were imo, damaged by them being shaved or trying to shape them but failed horribly. Visit #3 less than 2 weeks later due the extreme uncomfortable situation with my crowns. I'm thinking surely the 3rd time is the charm. This time Dr. Flikier joined in on the process of correcting the crown issues. He cut the back of my lower right gums, then came the fitting of the newly manufactured Strausmann crowns, then more grinding, shaving, filing whatever you want to call it, my teeth are now damaged even more. The lower left are flat, my brand new Strausmann crowns are worthless, I can't chew due to the natural upper left teeth now ache due the decision and judgment of Dr. Simon Flikier and Dr. Oriana Gonzalez of Flikier Dental Institute, San Jose Costa Rica. Now I have to more than likely spend more money on these costly errors. I received an invoice in Spanish, why not at have the translation on there. How do you figure you did grade A work in this situation? I told you politely a review was coming. My honest review based on the facts. Does anyone know how to file a civil complaint as a foreigner? $11,250 is a lot of money, I didn't get a fair deal. I hope this review makes you pause if you're getting multiple implants and crowns. Furthermore, the response is just dental verbiage word salad. The Strausmann crowns, the ones I paid for, the lower left set that were shaved, filed down flat, I bit my damn tongue due your negligence. The only solution you came up with was to shave my teeth, instead of performing proper imaging and fitting. 25 years of experience? Really. I nearly broke the layer of my tongue to draw blood. I promise you, whatever it takes for me file a complaint. Now, more money has to be spent to correct your errors.

This includes procedures, anticipated adjustments, risks, alternatives, and costs. Our clinical records, radiographs, and treatment notes document that the care was delivered in accordance with accepted professional standards. Complex cases involving multiple implants and crowns routinely require bite adjustments across multiple visits. These refinements are normal, expected, and necessary to achieve proper function and comfort. The crowns placed are clinically intact, properly polished, and functional, as supported by our documentation. Regarding the upper molars, the patient was informed that these teeth had over-erupted due to long-standing absence of opposing lower teeth. Conservative enamel adjustment was required to establish a stable occlusal plane. This was discussed and approved in advance. Temporary sensitivity can occur and is clinically normal. We have honored and continue to offer our warranty, and we encouraged the patient to obtain an independent evaluation in the United States so any concerns could be objectively verified. To date, no clinical evidence has been provided demonstrating treatment failure or damage caused by our care. Invoices are issued in Spanish because they are legal tax documents required under Costa Rican law. An English translation was provided upon request. We respectfully deny allegations of discrimination or improper conduct. While we understand that extensive dental treatment abroad can be stressful, dissatisfaction alone does not equate to malpractice or entitlement to reimbursement. We remain committed to ethical, evidence-based dentistry and transparent communication, and we stand by the quality of the treatment provided.
