Regarding the diagnosis, our clinical team used the Dental Explorer and visual examination to identify what we believed to be cavities. This was our professional opinion based on the evidence available during your visit. Cavities can develop quickly, sometimes in a matter of days or weeks, and may appear around or underneath old fillings, especially if the margins have started to deteriorate or if bacteria have seeped in over time. Fillings, especially older ones, can discolor or break down, and it's not uncommon for new decay to form near them. That said, if you have a local dentist you trust and feel comfortable with in Medellín, we absolutely support continuing care with that provider. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the very best with your dental health.
