Dental Comfort is a specialist dental practice in Sofia, Bulgaria, built around two highly trained dentists whose combined postgraduate education spans Western Europe and North America. The clinic is equipped with a dental microscope and digital X-ray, and the team places equal emphasis on clinical precision and patient comfort: taking the necessary time with each person, discussing treatment options transparently, and ensuring that every case is managed to the highest contemporary standard. The practice website is available in Bulgarian and English, and the clinical team also speaks Italian, Russian, and Dutch, making Dental Comfort an accessible choice for patients from a wide range of European backgrounds.
Dr. Hristo Dimitrov - Head of Clinic
Dr. Hristo Dimitrov graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in Dental Medicine in 2007. Immediately after graduation he moved to Sweden to begin his career, and subsequently spent seven years practicing in Belgium, where he worked alongside and trained under internationally recognised specialists. This extended period of clinical practice in Western Europe gave him direct exposure to the standards, materials, and techniques used in some of the most demanding dental markets in the world.
Dr. Dimitrov maintains his expertise through active participation in practical courses, lectures, and international congresses. His postgraduate training is exceptionally broad and includes courses with some of the most prominent names in each subspecialty. In implantology, he completed a Master Class at the gIDE Institute in Los Angeles with Dr. Sascha Jovanovic, covering bone grafting procedures and soft tissue augmentation at implant sites, and attended the Zimmer Biomet Institute in Switzerland for implant therapy in the aesthetic zone. He studied alveolar ridge preservation after tooth extraction with Prof. Jan Lindhe, one of the founding figures of modern periodontology. In periodontology, he trained in surgical treatment of periodontitis with Prof. Mark Danan (France) and in aesthetic periodontal surgery with Prof. Andre Saadoun (France), as well as completing hands-on courses in periodontal microsurgery, gingival recession correction using the tunnel technique, free gingival grafts, and connective tissue grafts.
In endodontics, Dr. Dimitrov has trained with several world-leading specialists: NiTi rotary canal preparation with Prof. Cliff Ruddle (USA); endodontic microsurgery with Prof. Philippe Sleiman (Lebanon); advanced biological and technological concepts in modern endodontics with Dr. Tom Shloss; endodontic microsurgery combining CBCT and operating microscopes with Prof. Gianluca Gambarini and Dr. Marga Ree; and non-surgical retreatment with Dr. Marga Ree, as well as treatment of persistent root canal infections with Prof. Veronique Gester and Prof. Jean-Pierre Siquet in Belgium. His aesthetic and restorative training includes direct and indirect composite veneers with Dr. Joseph Sabbagh at GC Club in Leuven, Belgium, and posterior CAD/CAM restorations with Dr. Roberto Spreafico, also in Belgium.
Dr. Keti Yordanova
Dr. Keti Yordanova graduated from the Medical University of Sofia. Her clinical interests centre on endodontics, aesthetic restorations, and periodontology. She approaches treatment with patience and persistence, and continuously develops her skills through postgraduate training. Her courses include advanced endodontics with Dr. Marga Ree and Dr. Jan Bergmans, non-surgical endodontic retreatment, three-dimensional obturation techniques, the Socket Shield implant technique with BioHorizons implants, sinus lift surgery, aesthetic direct restorations, and periodontal surgery for gum disease and recession correction. The convergence of interests between the two dentists at Dental Comfort means that complex cases benefiting from coordinated endodontic, periodontal, and prosthetic management are handled within the same practice without requiring referrals.
Services
Endodontics (root canal treatment) is a particular strength of the clinic. Both dentists have trained extensively in this field, including at the microscope level, allowing them to handle routine root canal cases, complex multi-rooted teeth, and retreatment of previously failed root canal work. The dental microscope available in the practice is an essential tool for these procedures, providing illumination and magnification that significantly improves the precision of canal location, preparation, and obturation.
Implantology at Dental Comfort draws on Dr. Dimitrov's postgraduate training in bone management and soft tissue handling around implants. Single-tooth implant replacements and multi-tooth cases are planned with attention to the surrounding bone volume and gum tissue, with augmentation procedures carried out where necessary to ensure long-term stability and aesthetics.
Periodontology covers both non-surgical and surgical management of gum disease. The team has trained specifically in gingival recession correction, a technically demanding area that uses soft tissue grafts to rebuild lost gum tissue and protect exposed root surfaces. Periodontal microsurgery, performed under the operating microscope, allows minimally invasive access and more predictable healing compared to conventional open approaches.
Aesthetic dentistry covers composite veneers, direct and indirect composite restorations, and aesthetic smile improvements. Both dentists have trained in modern composite techniques that achieve natural-looking results without removing significant tooth structure. Preventive dentistry and professional cleaning form the foundation of each patient relationship, and the team emphasises that regular maintenance reduces the need for complex interventional treatment over time.
Paediatric dentistry is also offered, with the team's careful, patient communication style naturally adapting to younger patients and their families.
