Centro Odontologico da Ilha

The clinic was founded by Dra. Caroline Ferreira (CRO-SC 7830) and Dr. Alexandre Lopes Ferreira, who trained in dentistry in Rio de Janeiro and began working together in 2000. In 2005, they relocated to Florianopolis specifically to open this practice, bringing their combined expertise in multiple specialties to the capital of Santa Catarina. Dra. Caroline holds post-graduate specializations in dental implants, guided surgery, prosthetics, dental contact lenses, and ceramic veneers. Dr. Alexandre specializes in orthodontics, orofacial harmonization, botulinum toxin, and oral surgery, including advanced facial aesthetic protocols. Their complementary specializations allow the clinic to offer a genuinely integrated service from preventive dentistry through implantology, aesthetic restorations, orthodontics, and facial harmonization.

Philosophy and Patient Care

From its founding, the clinic's mission has been to provide excellent, humanized dental treatments grounded in ethics and professionalism. The clinic's approach emphasizes health, aesthetics, and quality of life in a comfortable, modern, and tranquil environment. Patients are received from the moment they arrive in reception with the same care and attention that carries through to the treatment room, ensuring that every visit reinforces the trust and confidence the clinic has built over twenty years of community presence in Florianopolis.

Dental Implants and Guided Surgery

Dental implantology is one of the clinic's core specialties. Dra. Caroline Ferreira's expertise in implants and guided implant surgery allows the clinic to offer highly predictable placement outcomes using digital planning protocols that map the patient's bone anatomy before any incision is made. Guided surgery reduces surgical time, minimizes the margin for error, and in many cases enables flapless procedures with faster healing. Single-tooth implants, multiple implants, and full-arch rehabilitations are all performed, with prosthetic restorations designed and placed in coordination with the surgical planning.

Dental Contact Lenses and Ceramic Veneers

The clinic is known in Florianopolis for its expertise in dental contact lenses and ceramic veneers. Dental contact lenses are ultra-thin ceramic restorations bonded to the front surfaces of teeth to transform their color, shape, and size with minimal or no removal of natural enamel. Ceramic veneers offer similar transformative results with slightly more versatility for complex cases. Both treatments are ideal for patients who want to dramatically improve the appearance of their smile while maintaining the health and integrity of their natural teeth. Dra. Caroline Ferreira's specialization in these treatments, combined with the clinic's aesthetic philosophy, ensures results that are both technically excellent and visually harmonious.

Orthodontics

Dr. Alexandre Lopes Ferreira's specialization in orthodontics means the clinic offers comprehensive orthodontic treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. Fixed appliances in metal and aesthetic options are available, as well as contemporary aligner-based protocols for patients seeking a more discreet approach to tooth alignment. Orthodontic treatment at the clinic is coordinated with restorative and implant planning where relevant, ensuring that tooth movements support the long-term functional and aesthetic treatment plan.

Orofacial Harmonization and Facial Aesthetics

Dr. Alexandre Lopes Ferreira is trained in orofacial harmonization, including botulinum toxin applications and the MD CODES protocol, an advanced facial aesthetic mapping system developed by international aesthetic medicine specialist Dr. Mauricio de Maio. This approach provides a systematic, anatomically precise method for facial filler and toxin placement, producing natural-looking results that balance and rejuvenate the face without the overdone appearance associated with less refined techniques. The availability of facial harmonization at a dental clinic reflects the growing integration of oral and facial aesthetics in Brazilian dentistry, and positions Centro Odontologico da Ilha as a destination for patients seeking a complete smile and facial transformation.

Restorative and Preventive Services

Routine dental care including professional cleanings, cavity treatment, composite resin restorations, root canal therapy, and oral health consultations forms the ongoing foundation of the practice. Teeth whitening in both in-office and take-home formats, tooth extractions, and oral surgery round out the clinical offering. This breadth ensures that patients can receive all their dental care at one trusted practice throughout their lives, from preventive check-ups through to complex reconstructive work.
