I'm Spanish and live in Switzerland. I went for a dental cleaning, which I expected to be much cheaper than in Switzerland or Germany, but to my surprise, it wasn't. They charged me €110 instead of €70 (they said it was for gingivitis, which I don't suffer from or have... exactly the same as all the ones I've had to date. No extra time or materials were required, nor anything to justify the higher price. This kind of treatment bothers me immensely. Why would they have raised the price by €40? It makes me wonder if it was because I told them I live in Switzerland. The only thing they gain by doing this kind of thing is a bad reputation and tarnishing the professionalism of the doctors and hygienists who work there. Regarding the doctor and the woman who did my hygiene, I have no negative comments. Everything was very positive: friendly, attentive, and answered questions. Their treatment was professional and pleasant. Response: I don't appreciate your defensive response. That's why I'm changing my rating from two stars to one. I don't normally leave negative comments unless I'm seriously disappointed with something. Regarding the X-ray, you told me there was no charge because it's a procedure you perform to check dental health, but that if I wanted or needed it, I would be charged €65. I didn't need it, so I understand why there was no charge. Regarding the intraoral camera photographs and transillumination lamps, I understand that you always do these during checkups. I assume it's necessary to have references for the treatments that the client may need. Furthermore, since you mentioned it, the diagnosis isn't always correct. Glue residue from the upper retainer was mistaken for two cavities. The cleaning time was the fastest I've had to date. The only area where the tartar was found was the bottom of the retainer and some areas inside the gums, basically the areas I couldn't reach with a toothbrush or floss. At no point did I disagree with the diagnosis; what I disagree with is the increased price of the cleaning, even though it was a standard cleaning like the ones I've had to date. I want to reiterate that the quality of the exam wasn't what I questioned; what I question was her sales-oriented and defensive attitude (and not focused on the customer and their needs). And I reiterate once again, both doctor and hygienist, a 10 (in case it wasn't clear)!

Hello Sonia, thank you for sharing your experience with us. It helps us improve our patient care and confirm that they understand our diagnosis and information. During the consultation, in addition to the visual examination, tentative gingival probings were performed, which measured more than 3 mm (indicating the limit of healthy gums). The next stage is called Gingivitis. We also informed you of the presence of subgingival spicules in the X-ray image we performed, which you were not charged for. Photographs were taken with an intraoral camera and transillumination lamps were used. As we indicated, the difference between a conventional cleaning and one for gingivitis is the time required. Regarding the doctor and the hygienist, I'm glad you have no complaints, and I'm surprised you disagree with the diagnosis she gave you. On the other hand, I think the comparison based on time you mention isn't complete, perhaps because you think all dental equipment and materials are the same, which they aren't. As you indicated, we charged you €110 instead of the €70 corresponding to a conventional cleaning. After listening to the diagnosis and explaining it to you, we informed you of the costs in advance, and you decided to go ahead with them. We wonder if it's because you live in Switzerland that we charged you those prices, and we're sorry you don't mention the other diagnostic tests you had without having to pay anything, nor the quality of the checkup you received. We remain at your disposal to clarify any questions you may have.
