Alva Clínica Dental Plaza Marina

We went to this clinic last week. We've been here before and we've always had great and professional service, and it continues to be the same. I don't understand the bad reviews at all. They always tell us what the cost will be upfront, and it is always adhered to. My wife and I have had cleaning, which the dentist does; it's not done by a dental hygienist. For 900 pesos including x-rays, it's a good price for us from Canada. This year, we also had a night guard made and they are very good. That cost 4000 pesos each, but well worth it, considering we will be using it for many years. .I've also had an implant done here a few years ago and it was done very professionally and my dentist back in Canada said that it was a great job. Also, it was much cheaper than in Canada. From what I hear, all the dentists at this clinic are professional. Many Canadian friends go there as well. I am NOT hesitating to recommend this clinic.

I am very grateful for the service they provided me for many consecutive years. My youngest daughter had a jaw problem and underwent corrective treatment for over 7 years. My daughter started as a child and ended up as a young adult. The problem was excellently corrected, and today, at 19, her jaw is correctly positioned and her teeth look very good. I highly recommend their staff. One of my twins also received help with maxillofacial surgery because she had a canine on her chin and several small buds because she doesn't shed. The doctor treated her very well, and thank God and this excellent service, the surgery was a success. The canine and buds were removed without damaging her baby canine, which is still there today and hasn't fallen out, but we keep it because there's no need to extract it. The services they offer there are unavailable anywhere else, as the specialists only come once a month. I didn't have to travel to Guadalajara to seek the services of specialists like a pediatric maxillofacial surgeon because no other place would treat me due to the complexity of the surgery. I'm so grateful to have found them in my life and resolved those two problems for my daughters.

Imagine going to the grocery store and not seeing a price on some item, asking an employee for the price, they give you the price and then charge you for telling you the price. Exactly what Alva does. No where on their website or in WhatsApp discussions or even before or during the consultation did they say they charge $600 to tell you what they'll charge you to do the work. On my way out from a consultation they handed me a receipt book to sign and a credit card reader set to $600 mxn. Probably do good work but when the scam starts from the git go....I move on.

I WAS CHARGED 1800 PESOS FOR ESTIMATE!!! They charged me triple to what they said on the phone. I felt robbed and overcharged in my face!!! No cleaning and no work was done. When I was waiting in the lobby for my appointment woman came in and wanted an estimate for a tooth, she was recommended to do cleaning and X-Rays for 900 pesos all included so they can look at everything the receptionist said. Why are they charging me double when I’m just getting a quote with no cleaning. Even when I knew exactly what I wanted and my teeth situation.. When I made the appointment I was told it was going to be 600 pesos for estimate. And if I wanted to cleaning with estimate it was going to be 900. They charged me 1800 Pesos, the lady in the lobby not being nice she said it’s 1800, she said you did some X-rays . They told me on the phone X-Rays were included. After getting, my quote I asked if they do discounts for all the work, with a not a nice gesture replied that’s the price she said, then she grabbed my quote and the lady said, she made a mistake on the quote she wrote a higher price with a pen for root canals, she doesn’t know we changed the prices. I was very nice and polite at all times and determined to get the work done there next vacation and left very disappointed.

Dr Fernando Peñalva had been my dentist for the last 5 years. I have had 2 dental implants and numerous cleanings. I highly recommend this dental clinic. It is very clean and professional. Pearla at the front desk is so warm and welcoming. They always go out of their way to ensure an enjoyable visit. It is so close to the airportand its easy to get to. Being able to message on what's app to set up my appointments or get answers to questions and concerns is very handy when I live in Canada. They are very responsive and helpful.

My wife and I make the trip from Colorado fairly regularly, to combine vacation and dental work. I had 8 crowns done by Dr. Penalva back in 2011, and have enjoyed a wonderful smile with no problems since then :) We came down again this week, my wife anticipating needing a crown that her dentist in CO had said she needed very soon. After having a cleaning and consult, Dr. Bernal recommended saving the tooth!!! She could have easily recommended a crown as that is what we had made the appointment for. The Dr’s here are very ethical, and all of the staff are very polite and accommodating. Pearla is English fluent (as well as all of the Dr’s) so making our appointment was a breeze over the phone a month in advance. We will always come into Alva Dental whenever we come to PV, and will recommend them to our family and friends, consider us EXTREMELY SATISFIED CLIENTS!

As a client who has been coming here for several years, I will say they definitely have some issues. My last visit was kind of a nightmare. I just needed to have a crown replaced on an implant and it didn't fit the first time so I had to come back. Then when I came back the second time it got stuck so they told me to go home and come back again the next day. Keep in mind it costs me $50 every time I have to go home and come back. Well when I came back for the third or fourth visit because they were having serious issues with the tooth, it took several hours but they finally were able to get it unstuck. They told me that if I ever see a different dentist to work on this tooth that the screw is probably stripped and to let them know? I mean really? This is ridiculous and they charged me full price. After complaining at the front desk I think they gave me like a $5 discount. Now I am bringing a friend down there for an extensive amount of dental work. I called to get a quote and they told me to call back the next day. When I called back the next day the girl told me they are closed they already send you quote. I said they did not send me the quote, she said yes they send you the quote. Again I said they did not send me the quote and she said I will talk to her and hung up on me. It is now many days later and I have yet to hear back from them? I have sent them messages and nobody is contacting me? I have called multiple times and they do not return my phone calls. It is about to be Christmas in 3 days and I believe they might be closed until then? This is very frustrating because this place is rather high priced compared to other places and I wanted to do some shopping around before I come down there for such a large amount of work! I hate to complain because they are nice people but first of all hire somebody who answers the phones who speaks English because this is a big problem! Second issue is don't be more concerned about money than your clients because it shows. 😊🧐 PS: There have been other issues in the past that I'm not going to include in this review because it just takes up too much space and time. It's just unfortunate that these guys can't be more on the ball because they are losing a lifetime customer! Not very professional not the best work and definitely more concerned about money than their customers! 😕

I had a great experience at this dentist office. The staff was professional, the office was clean, and the procedure was done in a timely manner.

If I had a ten stars I'd give it ten stars.I was extremely nervous coming from upstate New York, I reached out to them via WhatsApp . In a matter of minutes Perla was contact with me I explained my situation In need of an implant and a root canal. We scheduled the day of me landing went straight there. The clinic is immaculate very friendly staff.They took care of me right away. I was on vacation for 12 days. In a matter of just 2 visits less than 3 hours I walked out very satisfied. They are very professional and caring, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
