Ms. Özlem is the best pediatric dentist in Izmir. We constantly recommend her to our friends. We have all of our child's dental treatments done by Ms. Özlem. She is very cheerful and friendly. All her teeth were examined in a very relaxed and fun way. After the examination, Ms. Özlem explained the necessary treatment process and procedures in detail, informing us that the treatment would be performed under general anesthesia due to her age. She also sat down with our daughter, looked her in the eyes, and explained in child psychology that it was time to stop using the bottle. From that night onwards, she stopped using the bottle in one go. We had already decided that Ms. Özlem would perform the operation, but the next day we still went to different doctors in both private and public hospitals. Even though we didn't mention any names, one doctor even recommended Ms. Özlem for this case because a total of 20 teeth needed to be treated. The fact that anesthesia was involved was certainly a concern for parents, but it's important to remember that our doctors had performed many such procedures and were experienced. After deciding on the operation, we made an appointment without delay and met at the hospital on the morning of the procedure. A very nice, clean, and comfortable room was provided. After the anesthesiologist performed the necessary checks, a sedation procedure similar to a vaccination was administered, and we handed our daughter over in a state of light sleep. Ms. Özlem performed the procedure on all 20 teeth in a short time of about 2 hours, and there was no trace of what the teeth were like before. Naturally, after returning to the room due to the effects of anesthesia, there were phases of crying, fussiness, and sleepiness for about an hour. Parents need to manage this stress calmly and effectively during the first hour. Ms. Özlem was already informing us about what needed to be done, and the ward nurses were also very attentive. After an hour, the effects of the anesthesia had partially worn off, and our daughter was calmer. We distracted her with different toys we had brought. Meanwhile, to help the anesthesia wear off and to regulate her blood sugar after a long period of fasting, her eating and drinking needed to be controlled. After all the check-ups, we were discharged in the afternoon. She continued to be sleepy on the way and at home. By 9 PM, our daughter was completely awake, her appetite had improved, and she was dancing and laughing like a ballerina at home. Interestingly, she would normally tell us everything that happened, but she couldn't remember anything that day. About a month after the operation, she can now digest and swallow food quite well. Thank God, our daughter is eating healthily and has a happy smile. We are also happy to have gained such a good family doctor.
