It turns out I needed more than just smiles. The second visit, my child had a different dentist. Still the same complaint. On the second visit: 1. A baby tooth was mistaken for a permanent tooth. I replied that it was a baby tooth, but the dentist was initially insistent and wasn't sure it was a baby tooth. I told him my child had never had a tooth fall out. He then asked, "Oh really? is what it looks like, blah blah blah." I reiterated: "I've never had a tooth fall out at all!" Then he stopped insisting. 2. The dentist wasn't a good fit for a child like him. The doctor was observing with a dental mirror, and my child started to squeal. What's wrong with stopping? He was chatting with the nurse anyway. I had to say, "Doctor, take that instrument off first! My child has a bad squeal!" and then he took the dental mirror off. Not kid-friendly🙃 3. Differences in recommendations between two dentists from the same clinic for our child's dental care. Which one should we follow? 🙂 Looks like we need to get a third opinion... that is, from another doctor at a different dental clinic🙂
