We appreciate the time you’ve taken to share your experience, and we are truly sorry that it did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify some key points regarding your treatment to provide a complete understanding of the procedures performed. When you visited our clinic, your two upper molars presented with misaligned amalgams covering most of the occlusal surface, showing discoloration. After performing the necessary vitality tests, we recommended the best course of treatment, which included root canals, posts, and crowns—the latter to protect the remaining dental structures. This treatment was accepted by you after we explained its implications and benefits. Additionally, all of our patients are required to sign documents related to the treatments they receive and accept, such as informed consent forms, warranty agreements, and satisfaction with the achieved results. Regarding the tooth with a crown fracture, which had previously undergone a root canal, we offered you two options: a bridge or an implant. We explained that teeth treated with root canals can fracture during extraction because the dental tissue that strengthens them has been removed. This makes them more susceptible to fractures during procedures like extraction. This was explained to ensure that you understood that the possibility of placing an implant post-extraction would depend on the condition of your socket (the amount of bone remaining after the extraction). Fortunately, in your case, an implant with adequate primary stability was placed, as demonstrated in the video we recorded for you showing the torque achieved and the good stability mentioned, accompanied by bone grafting and a collagen membrane. The initial recommendation of a three-unit bridge remained a viable option. When you informed us about the implant rejection, we advised that a bone graft should be placed, and the procedure should be reattempted in six months to allow for proper bone recovery. We also reiterated the option of a three-unit bridge, which you chose not to accept. We kept in touch with you, sending periodic messages to monitor your progress. Regarding the cost of the treatment, we want to clarify that the correct amount is $4,049, which includes all the procedures performed. We regret any misunderstandings that may have occurred, but as you know from your firsthand experience, our patients receive the highest level of care. Your husband is also one of our patients and has never experienced issues with his treatments, which is what initially brought you to us.
