I guess, that day i walked in, the friendly staff had their day off. Talking to the receptionist made me leave instantly. I needed some time to explain what i was coming for. It's not that easy, but i was cut off immediately by her. "If you don't tell me what you want, we can not help you" she replied. Sorry, but i'm trying my luck in Bangkok now. This was really unexpected.

e had the information I needed to make an informed decision. I don’t know many western people still getting metal crowns. I’m honestly surprised it’s still an option. I checked AI and was told “In the United States, there has been a significant shift towards ceramic crowns, which are now more common than metal crowns, primarily due to their superior aesthetics.” At this first crown appointment they x-rayed my tooth and then took a quick look in my mouth for the consult. Cost was 200baht. Good price. Then I was told my price for the crown. I asked why not at the lower end, esp since they said this would be “very easy”. That’s when I was informed 9k for metal, 15k for ceramic. Still, I might have gone forward, except that… 2) during my xray, so many gross things happened: a) they never wash their hands in my presence at this facility b) they already are wearing gloves when you walk into their room; no idea if they’re new gloves or used c) the xray ring and piece that goes in your mouth came out of a sealed package, however, the xray film was in a piece of cling wrap kitchen plastic; no issue with this. However, she then took the plastic wrapped film out of my mouth, with all my germs on it… unwrapped it with both gloved hands, then proceeded to touch the computer mouse, the xray developer machine, and the cling wrap cutter all with hands with my germs on it (and everyone else’s germs, too, presumably). No sterile, disposable covers on these items. Nothing. Just juices from however many mouths. d) the piece of plastic she cut to reseal the developed xray film… she only used half, so the next person’s film will be wrapped in the other half, which was touched by gloves with my germs. Disgusting. It’s such a shame, because it’s such a nice experience otherwise. Recommendation: no ORIGINAL 4.7 Stars Appointments: I booked on Messenger. Took about 3 weeks for appointment for two of us. I asked about equipment cleanliness/sterilization. Screenshots of their very quick response and several photos from them are attached. Appears to be pretty online with western standards. Cleanings (ultrasonic), flossing, and polishing took maybe 20 minutes. Dentist and assistant in the room. Location: Phet Kasem Road near La Casita Facility: clean, comfortable, professional. Nana Dental actually occupies two buildings next door to each other. We arrived at reception in the main building on the right. Gave our passports, filled out a brief form, then I was taken upstairs for my cleaning, while my husband was taken to the building next door for his. Cost: 2900baht ($85.00 US). Cleanings are 1000-1500 “depending on amount of plaque”. My cleaning was 1000. My husband had a cleaning and xray totaling 1900… not sure of the breakdown on his. The only “negatives”: 1) there doesn’t seem to be an exam for possible oral cancers (this is done in the US) and 2) I wasn’t asked if I was concerned about anything with my teeth. Recommend: if this is in your budget, recommend for cleanings.

The range of 9,000–15,000 Baht reflects different crown materials: metal crowns at the lower end and ceramic crowns at the higher end. We understand that many patients, especially those from Western countries, commonly prefer ceramic crowns, and we appreciate your feedback that this distinction should have been communicated more clearly from the start. We will certainly take this into account to improve how we present treatment options in the future. With respect to hygiene and infection control, we take this matter extremely seriously, and patient safety is always our top priority. We would like to reassure you that: Gloves are never reused and are changed for every patient. Our dentists and assistants wash their hands before and after every procedure, even if this may not always be visible to the patient. All dental chairs, X-ray rooms, X-ray machines, and frequently touched surfaces are thoroughly cleaned after each patient. We use medical-grade disinfectant wipes, not regular household wipes, to sanitize all equipment and surfaces. Dental instruments and equipment are either fully sterilized or disposable and are never reused between patients. We understand that certain steps in clinical infection control can look unfamiliar or uncomfortable if not explained, and we regret that this caused you concern during your visit. My treatment is a very long and costly one but Dr Nana agreed a plan with me and broke down payments to suit my budget. The clinic is busy but there is never a very long wait for appointments. Dr Nana and all her staff offer the highest standard of dentistry. I've just had 2 implants and they have done an excellent job. I have a top quality dentist in the UK but Dr Nana provides an equally good service if not better. If you are looking for dental treatment DO NOT look elsewhere.

I attended Nana Clinic to have a molar implanted. Total cost 60k baht, which is very reasonable compared to Western countries. The staff are friendly, speak English and always explain to process well. Highly recommended.
