Excellent professionals. Much more than excellent...I had visited several maxillofacial surgeons and none wanted to operate on me. Dr. Joan Grau not only did it, but also excellently. Three years ago, I went to Maxiloclinic to get invisible orthodontics. After starting treatment, I went for my first-month checkup, where Dr. Serra decided I should have microscrews placed in my upper jaw to elevate my arch. they're not placed correctly, they can damage the roots of the teeth. And exactly what I feared most was what happened. Despite telling her that it was unbearable pain, she continued placing the microscrews, and after seeing that something wasn't right (I was bleeding excessively), she decided to do a CT scan, but it was too late. The CT scan showed that the right microscrew, placed between teeth 11 and 12 (the teeth you see when you smile), had caused a crack in the root of tooth 12. This not only required immediate termination of the treatment but also required the nerve of the tooth to be killed to prevent infection due to the exposure caused by the crack. This wasn't the worst part, as if that weren't enough, because instead of assuming responsibility and acting professionally, Dr. Serra simply denied that her actions had damaged my tooth's root. After seeking a second opinion and returning to the clinic to have the treatment removed, Dr. Serra had to retract her statement and stop denying that her negligence had caused the damage. I'm writing this 3 years later because I hadn't had the strength to do it before, since it's not easy to go with healthy teeth to a clinic you trust to improve an aspect such as dental alignment, and in the end not only can you not undergo the treatment, but they harm you by damaging a completely healthy tooth, which will never be the same again.

Carol, We are so sorry for your bad experience, even though it's been three years, because a possible medical complication is always something that we feel very bad about and hurts us, but as medical professionals we have the duty and the ability to try to solve it, but in your case you did not let us intervene to solve your problem. Regarding having a CT scan prior to placing the microscrew, there is scientific evidence that the x-rays I had were sufficient and with much less radiation for the microscrew insertion procedure. In fact, of the two we placed in the same session, we only removed one at the time due to the discomfort you were having, and always from the first moment I recognized what had happened and explained to you what we should do. Excellent service! I'm so happy I chose this clinic and I recommend it to everyone! The staff is very attentive and friendly! I arrived at the clinic very scared for my wisdom teeth extraction, but everything was very quick and painless! Dr. Valles was super attentive, as was her entire assistant (I hope you'll forgive me, I don't remember her name). They were both very careful... the mouth is a very sensitive area, at least for some people. Jessica, at the reception desk, was super attentive and always attentive, trying to make things easier for you... she's a great pillar.

Excellent work by Dr. Grau and his team. In my case, I had two wisdom tooth extractions with surgery, and both procedures were flawless. Punctual and very efficient.
