Horrific experience here, boyfriend cut his head open and no one helped to bring him in we got a bed ourselves and wheeled him in, everyone laughed when he yelled in pain, was in all night no one check on him for 3 hours despite us asking for help as he kept passing out, staff asleep. Hygiene was poor, cockroaches on the floor.

Dirty, badly staffed, unprofessional and uncompassionate. Iโm spending here the worst days of my life and whenever I yell in pain, they just laugh.

Come and get your body ready to welcome the Lao New Year. Every day, you just put on a mask and put it on your body. I don't know what's wrong. ๐๐ โฆ

As far as 3rd world hospitals go, this one was quite good. My sister got a nasty gash in a road accident, and all the clinics in Luang Prabang were closed, so we had to come here. The nurse spoke excellent English, the doctors had been trained in Taiwan, and they got her all stitched up in 20 minutes. Total cost? $18 USD. I wouldn't want to get major surgery done here, but in an emergency, they seemed like they'd have the equipment to take care of stitches and broken limbs and the like.

Very caring staff and sufficient equipment to take care of most basic needs, but not up to international standards. Just the lack of cleanliness is a big risk.

My doctor and nurse were very kind and the doctor spoke English. I had a 40degree temperature and a wicked infection in my lymph nodes. At 3am I woke up to am empty hospital. It was like a cheesy horror film. There was a dog, lizard and moth, all adding to another crazy adventure in life. I went back to bed and by morning the hospital was packed with people. It was an interesting experience, but they did save my life. The conditions of the hospital are not like the USA, but overall it was clean and the staff professional. It's better than dying.

If you need to see a doctor in Luang Prabang for most things then there are a number of clinics available. The hospital is the place to go for emergencies. Should you be a tourist and require emergency services then head to the emergency entrance to the left of the administration building. Here is where you will find the International Emergency Room sponsored by the Bangkok Hospital. Facilities are better than those offered for the local Lao people and you should be able to find someone who speaks English. They will also be able to arrange emergency evacuation to Bangkok if required and you have travel insurance, which of course you would not be travelling in this part of the world without.

The by far worst hospital I've seen in my lifetime. Hygiene is not existing. Dead flies and hair on the ground. Staff does not have gloves, medical equipment poor. Every Hotel in Luang Prabang is cleaner. If you have something serious make sure to catch the next plane to Bangkok or home.

When I was bitten by a dog in Vientiane, I had to go to the hospital several times for vaccinations, but I used this place and it was a big help.
