few nightmare stories. Nonetheless, I contacted quite a few clinics in Turkey to discuss the treatment and prices, bearing in mind I had a budget that I couldn't exceed. I checked so many reviews on Trust Pilot, and eventually came across Istanbul Dis Akademisi, and was pleasantly surprised and impressed by their reviews. I spoke with the manager Umut at great length via WhatSapp asking him so many questions, and he patiently answered them all. He wasn't pushy like some of the other clinics that I had spoken to, he was very reassuring. Eventually after a lengthy back and forth chat over a few days my treatment was booked for 5 days. I arrived on Monday 16th February 2026 and everything he promised was delivered. Upon arrival at Istanbul Sabiha Airport, my daughter and I were picked up in an executive style vehicle and taken to a really lovely 5 star hotel. Our room had two large double beds, a washing machine, a double ring electric stove, microwave, fridge, bottles of water, a kettle plus tea and coffee. It also came with breakfast, access to the gym, swimming pool and a sauna. My treatment started the following day. Umut arranged to pick us up at 9:50, and was punctual that morning and punctual with all the pick up times throughout my treatment. I have to say how clean the clinic was, as has been pointed out by everyone in their reviews. Their hygiene standard is very impressive and provided me with the additional reassurance I needed. Umut's sister-inlaw, Dr Candan, who was my personal dentist, did an amazing job. Her concentration to detail and precision in ensuring everything was done correctly set my mind at ease. I had 22 Monolithic Zirconium Crowns and one root canal. As a family business, the dynamic between everyone is well coordinated and seamless. The final crowns were installed on the Thursday, and I can't tell you how happy I felt to see my new beautiful smile. I want to thank the whole team for giving me the ability to smile confidently for the first time in my life, and wholeheartedly recommend Istanbul Dis Akademisi if you're thinking about transforming your smile. Their price is reasonable, and unlike some clinics, they will refuse to do treatment if they don't think you really need it, or they envisage a problem resulting from the treatment as in the case of my daughter who wanted veneers. Her teeth had an overbite and needed a little straightening, so they refused to treat her at this time, advising her to correct the issues discussed then return at a later date to have the veneers fitted. I respected their professionalism, losing potential money by putting their good name above profit. doddering old man. Maybe I am, but here I got treated with proper civility. The translator had better English than many Americans. They even served me an excellent Turkish coffee. They gave me a better, safer painkiller than we get in the USA. But most importantly the oral surgeon was very very good. No pain other than the initial Novocaine infection. She was so good I didn't believe she was done. I had to see the scan for myself. Went sightseeing afterwards (The Blue Mosque). Quite a bit less than it costs in the USA even WITH dental insurance. I also liked meeting the clinic cat.
