Dr. Hernandez and his team are fantastic! They were patient, knowledgeable, professional, and extremely helpful. His office was clean and calming. I really appreciated their timely responses to all my questions and will be going back for any/all future dental work. Thank you Dr. Hernandez!!
Dr. Hernandez is an excellent dentist. In the years our family have been seeing him we have always gotten the very best of care. He carefully explains his plans for treatment before starting and makes sure I experience no unnecessary pain. We regularly fly to PV to and Visit Dr. H' office for dental work, he is very accommodating with his schedule to make sure you get the work done our visit.…

. I have done the works: from cleaning to implants. Excellent work every time. I would highly recommend Dr. Hernandez for all your dental work.
Great dentist. Very knowledgeable, friendly, great service and aftercare. Highly recommended.
Visited January 2019 on holiday with an infected wisdom tooth. Was told on inspection I needed approx 20 fillings. I was shocked - I’ve always cared very seriously for my teeth and never been told of any issues like this with my private dentist in the UK. Due to the lower costs in PV compared to UK, and being able to claim on my insurance, I decided to get 3 fillings done. I only had two in the…

end as it was such an awful experience I told them not to do a third (the nurse wasn’t collecting the water down my throat well enough and I had to keep swallowing, which kept making the drill move!- tears running down my cheek from the fear of that!) Long story short - when I got home I had my wisdom tooth removed and on further check from my private dentist he told me I had absolutely no cavities and it was very unlikely that my two molars needed filling as per my precious x rays. Very upsetting experience.
I’m very pleased with the dental work done by Dr Hernandez, he has a very professional and honest approach to his work!
Have had a huge amount of dental work during my life, and Dr Hernandez is as good as there is!!! And very accessible and speaks good English for “lazy” gringos like me!
Overpriced and poor work, my filling came loose after a week. My husband also had work done and it didn't last more than a week either.
This man is amazing! Except for covid time, he has been our dentist for over 10 years. My wife, who was ill, fell and broke a number of teeth...he arranged for everything including anesthesia in his office, and kindly repaired her issues, in a most respectful way. She passed a few months later but this is what she wanted. I have referred a number of people to him and they are all more than…

pleased. I am happy to see him back in operation..go...no disappointments here, see you soon doctor!
Gentle, kind, and patient with anxious folks who may have neglected getting regular dental care. Not posh, but definitely clean and professional. 4 stars only because the lab work is sometimes delayed due to no fault of theirs - but if you want a leisurely trip for dental procedures, Dr Hernamdez & team perform excellent work. Have had cleanings, periodontal scraping, fillings, bridge…

e replacement, whitenings, and a painfully delayed (only due to Covid) dental implant. Final bill was somewhat higher then expected (due to more work needed) but Dr Hernandez has allowed me to pay over time. Suggest cash for conveniemce, discounts & even with the added treatment & expenses including that of airfare, currency exchange, dining out, hotel, travel, transfers - all totaled, it is still more reasonable then dental work stateside. And Puerto Vallarta provides a wonderful incentive for going to the dentist.
I received treatments at International Dental Center PV for broken teeth for the past two and a half years. I’ve tried to contact the center now for over a year and no one has answered my emails or answers the phone. I assumed that the clinic closed down but see that someone posted a review from this May. I had a post put in but am waiting and waiting for the implant to be placed. It’s been over a…

year and a half since it was put in. I’m am angry by the lack of any administrative support. How can you run a business when you don’t answer your phones or email and ignore your loyal customers. Horrifying service!

I will be updating my review of the dental work I will be having done here early March 2020. The dental office has been quick to respond to my inquiries. I have been communicating via the “message business” feature on Google Maps. This feature of Maps is new to me. I was surprised to receive an almost immediate response. The International Dental Center (IDS) continued to answer questions even…

though our chat went past their business hours. I was able to share dental X-rays and make an appointment for a couple of crowns during an upcoming stay in PV. UPDATE: I am getting 8 zirconia crowns, 3 fillings, cleaning, and whitening done over 4 appointments. This is a lot of dental work. My first big appointment was 4.5 hours. I advise wearing comfortable clothes, bringing your neck or back pillow if you use one. I suspect Dr Alberto and staff are working late to coordinate with my travel plans. I really like being able to text with his office. More review to follow in a few days... UPDATE: One year later and I am very happy with my teeth. It appears Dr. Alberto has gone into wholesale mask supply. Good luck to him and his staff.
EXCELLENT SERVICE, I BOUGHT 5,000 FACE MASKS AND EVERYTHING ARRIVED ON TIME, JUST AS AGREED...THANK YOU VERY MUCH FROM CD. GUZMAN, JAL.
Thank you for your attention and the good quality face masks; we recommend this company.
I advise anyone thinking they will save money to think twice. Dr Hernandez made promises to me for implants and full bridges that he could not deliver on. I’m out almost 14,500 CAN he promised to refund me after two failed attempts and 12 implants. The first set of bridges looked like horse teeth nothing like what I had approved. I had to fly back to Canada with nothing. I came back months later…

for the second trip. Things seemed to be going well until the bridges didn’t fit and Dr Hernandez said , “he failed me,” and that I probably wanted to punch him! What! I had to leave his office and call my wife in tears because of what this man has put me through. This last trip his plan for making the bridges changed from the first time. I think it’s because I’ve been in touch with another man that got bridges and implants from him and the bridges busted and he is out 23,000 CAN. After the bridge failed to fit, he tries to make a last minute plan to cut the bridge in two pieces at 11pm. I can’t count how many nights I was in his office late into the night. I paid 15,000 CAN for 12 implants and the procedure was to be 30,000, so I was not about to accept a last minute cut of the bridges. He then promised me a refund of the full amount and said I’d get it in about week. The day before I left, I came back to his office to ask more details about the refund and asked what assurance I had that I’d get my money back. He asked if I wanted his car?! His receptionist added up my receipts. They then sent me to their bank to give my banking info for a wire transfer. They knew my itinerary and that I was leaving because they had agreed to pay for my flight since the last trip was a bust. (1500 flight and they did not refund me. ) They told me the bank lady was going to go to his office for him to sign the wire transfer at 5pm (a few hours after I was gone to the airport). When I was back in Canada I waited the 2 days his bank lady told me it would take and called my bank. Nothing processing. Called the lady at the bank in PV and she then told me he didn’t agree to the amount. What?! But the dentist didn’t call me to tell me? It makes no logical sense. They literally got me out of the county and lied to me. They then wouldn’t reply to my calls etc . When he finally called me he again said he’d refund me the 5,000 and the remainder 14,500 in a week. He later denied he ever said he’d refund me the full amount. After us getting fed up with the run around we told him we would share our story through various platforms, he finally sent 5,000 through wire transfer. He knows my implants are useless, told me the best option was for him to send me the healing screws (from other implants he collected from other appointments) and to let the gums grow over them. Since he refuses to provide this information I have to have them all implants removed and bone grafting. I had a CT at another dentist after I was done with Alberto Hernandez’s work that showed bone loss around the implants. That’s from having to wear dentures over implants after the failed attempts. He had no concern what I was left leaving with and only suggested healing screws when I came back and asked. They lied to me about the refund in Mexico but the next excuse was they said they would refund me if we provided them with a CT showing the bone loss. We knew it was another ploy. So you send a guy home to another country with implants sticking above his gums, won’t provide the brand, type and size to be able to have the gums heal over, but a CT scan from another dentist will make you pay up? They failed me with the work they promised, they promised a full refund and did not keep their word. This has been a literal nightmare situation not a dream vacation.
Dr. Hernandez and his team are absolutely amazing!!! We just spent 16 days in PV and my husband and I both came home with brand new brilliant smiles!!!
Thank you, had extractions done with no problem what so ever. From making the appointment all the way through to the after care, what an easy experience and will definitely be back to finish work.
Even after my review of this company, no one has even reached out to try and make things right. They clearly do not care for their clients. I would love to remove this review but they can’t even send me some basic information needed to finish my crown.
The best dentist in all puerto Vallarta my mother went to him for years and so have I
Great dentist and compared to Canadian prices for implants, amazing. Dr Hernandez has taken care of my implant needs for the last 7 years. No issues. Going back in Jan.
Great dental clinic in Old Vallarta, professional and fast service. I done two crowns here, happy about my experience with Dr. Alberto)))
Dr. Alberto Hernandez and Staff are a wonderful gift to Puerto Vallarta and all that find them. He is gentle, professional and maintains the highest standard of quality and workmanship. No wonder Dental Tourism has come into existence! I have entrusted him with my dental health for over 14 years now. Whole Heartedly Recommend!
Dr Alberto is a very competent and kind dentist. I'm impressed with him and his staff.

Thank you very much dor your words, it feels good to know you husband gor much better after all those crowns that we fit last year, its your time, your crown is almost ready. :)
I would RUN from this “practice”. Pay the higher rates in the US or Canada instead of wasting your time. I made three separate trips here for a single implant. 1st visit- performed a bone graft and all went well. 2nd visit- scheduled for the implant. When I arrived at the office, I was informed that Dr. Hernandez wasn’t able to be there at some stranger that I knew nothing about and barely spoke…

oke English would be performing the implant when Dr. Hernandez had me on his schedule for almost a year. I wasn’t very comfortable with an unknown doctor working on me in a different country but I rolled with it. Everything seemed to go fine. 3rd visit another year later- Scheduled for abutment and crown. After three appointments during this trip I received a last minute email that Dr. Hernandez wouldn’t be able to perform the abutment or crown since he had just now realized that some other doctor in his own practice performed the implant and did not prepare for this. He kept asking me how long ago I had the implant placed ( clearly he doesn’t take any notes and is poorly organized since this was my 6th or 7th visit in his office) and he also asked multiple times if I had the implant placed in his office. You’ve gotta be kidding me! He also asked for my name and phone number and I watched him enter it into his system. He didn’t even have this basic information in his notes. He also mentioned that the implant area had some inflammation and it didn’t seem like the other doctor did a good job. Anyway, in his last minute email about not being able to finish the job he informed me that he couldn’t reach the “doctor” that placed the implant and therefore he had no idea which abutment to use. He also said he would continue trying to reach him and would keep me me updated since I would need that information in order to receive an abutment and crown back home or at his office. I have emailed and called them around 5 or 6 times over the last month or so and I haven’t received one email or call back. Nothing! All my dentist back in the US are telling me that they need that information in order to place the abutment but clearly this practice lets random “doctors” work on their patients when Dr. Hernandez can’t do it last minute and then have no way of reaching them. Dr. Hernandez didn’t even ask this new Dr for this info when he placed the implant? Nope! Dr. Hernandez doesn’t even have a way of knowing if the correct implant was used. I would definitely recommend that you go anywhere else but here. They have clearly demonstrated that they do not care about their patients and could use a few courses on basic customer service. I wasted a whole week and spent money on flights, hotels, rental cars for no reason. Don’t make the same mistake and let them do this to you. Go elsewhere or have it done in the US or Canada.
The staff is quite nice here. First visit was great, got a cleaning that was half off due to being a new client. No complaints there. I needed to get a filling redone so I made a second appointment. I showed up on time and was told that the dentist was backed up and that they tried to call me to tell me it was canceled. They mentioned having phone issues so the call might not have gone through.…

. Ok, things happen, no biggie, so I rescheduled. I went back on the rescheduled date and found myself waiting for 45 minutes after the scheduled time for my appointment. They told me "we'll be ready shortly" about 20 minutes in. I'm a patient man, but 45 minutes was too much waiting and there were no signs of them getting ready for me, so I left. I hope they will improve their time management so others don't have to spend their day waiting.
