If everyone I spoke to after my son and niece's case were to comment here about the service, it wouldn't be considered perfect. well done, and it's extremely expensive. Dr. Aline recommended simple braces, the kind most people use, for my niece. It cost 1700 reais, and the maintenance appointments were 170 reais. Four brackets were placed on the four upper teeth, five months passed, and nothing more was done. The maintenance was only to change the elastics, as my niece reported not feeling any discomfort after the maintenance, something that usually causes at least some pain after maintenance. Besides, we didn't see any change. When we asked when the rest of the braces would be put on, Dr. Aline said only when the next tooth (the canine) finished growing. Conclusion: if she wanted my niece to wear braces, why didn't she explain that we would have to wait until her teeth were ready to receive them? How long would she be stuck with this shoddy maintenance? Once again, we see that what matters is money. We took my niece to another professional who told us that the braces he charges are around 500 reais, and immediately afterwards he put other brackets on her next teeth, that is, he skipped the tooth that was waiting to finish growing. And he is continuing the treatment with another approach. And it's no use coming with an answer saying that each professional works in a different way. Most of the people I talked to, both about my niece's case and my son's case, said that there is indeed another faster approach with results.

Yes, each case has an orthodontic and/or orthopedic treatment plan, depending on the diagnosis and treatment to be performed. My profession is results-oriented, and yes, I have several clinical treatment cases, as you described above, with immediate results. Removing a tooth is a procedure that is performed and executed with immediate results, while orthodontic treatment requires time, monitoring, and treatment progression according to the professional's plan. The R$1,700 quote refers to the cost of the appliance to be installed, and the maintenance fees must also be paid monthly, which is the amount mentioned in your message above. During maintenance, orthodontic wires are replaced. These wires are used to move the tooth, so they are replaced according to the tooth's movement. If a bracket breaks, it must be repositioned (glued) and the wire is replaced with a thinner wire (of smaller gauge) to adapt to the tooth's movement. When the canines have not yet erupted, we use a 2x2 alignment technique, which involves directly bonding brackets for alignment and leveling until the canines erupt. After the canines have erupted, the remaining brackets are then installed. All of this is explained during the initial treatment plan, when the patient undergoes examinations and the clinical case is planned. begin. My son needed to use a palatal appliance, which Dr. Aline told me we would need to activate at home after a few months. Seven months passed, and activations were only done at the office, where I paid 150 reais just for her to take a key that comes with the appliance and give it a quick turn; she didn't look at the child's mouth, it was always very quick. In one of those months, my son had a sore palate and complained of pain. When I questioned the doctor about it, she simply said it was nothing, that it didn't hurt. At that moment I realized that what happens there is only quantity and not quality. A crowded reception area, with quick and poor quality service. After other frustrations and realizing that there was no progress, I decided to take my son to another professional who questioned why the activation wasn't being done at home. In other words, during all this time we didn't have the expected progress. I felt cheated, the feeling of being deceived.

The first appointment will always take longer due to the demands to be met and because it's the first visit to the office, so I need to fully understand the patient's dental needs. Subsequent visits are for preventative care, which should be done every 3 or 6 months depending on the child's needs. In your son's case, after the initial consultation, because he presented with a crossbite, it was diagnosed during the consultation. Radiographic imaging exams were requested, and the diagnosis and individualized treatment plan were finalized for your son. I work with great professionalism and a playful approach; the proposed treatment was expansion, that is, the use of a fixed appliance on the palate, on the maxilla, with monthly maintenance appointments at the office.
