Why Choose Dental Karlin in Prague?

Modern dental clinic in Prague Karlin residential complex offering preventive, restorative, prosthetic, implant, and hygiene services for children and adults.

Dental Karlin is a modern dental practice located at Peckova 9/280 in Praha 8, within the Karlin district of Prague, Czech Republic. The clinic is situated in the Rezidence Dental Karlin residential complex, serving patients from the Karlin neighbourhood and the broader Praha 8 catchment area with comprehensive general and specialist dental care.

Karlin is one of Prague's most attractive and rapidly developing districts, a neighbourhood that has transformed over the past two decades from an industrial area into a vibrant hub of modern residential development, creative businesses, cafes, and restaurants. Dental Karlin's location within a residential complex reflects the neighbourhood's growing population of young professionals and families who benefit from having quality dental care within their community.

Preventive Dentistry

Prevention is the clinical foundation at Dental Karlin. The practice provides preventive dental care for both children and adults, with a particular emphasis on protection against infectious dental diseases, the bacterial processes that lead to decay and gum disease. Regular preventive examinations allow the clinical team to assess dental health comprehensively, identify risk factors specific to each patient, and intervene early before developing problems become complex or costly.

For children, preventive care includes fissure sealants and fluoride treatments that provide additional protection during the years when teeth are most vulnerable to decay, alongside education for both children and parents about dietary habits and brushing techniques that support lifelong dental health. For adults, preventive care is tailored to individual risk profiles and dental histories, with recall intervals adjusted based on each patient's specific needs.

Conservative and Restorative Dentistry

Conservative dentistry at the practice covers the treatment and restoration of teeth affected by decay, wear, or minor damage. Modern composite filling materials are used for cavity restorations, producing tooth-coloured results that match enamel shade and bond chemically to the tooth structure. The conservative dentistry approach prioritises preserving maximum natural tooth substance, removing only what is necessary and restoring with materials and techniques that support long-term tooth integrity. Both adult and paediatric patients are served by the practice's conservative dentistry programme.

Prosthodontics

Dental prosthetics at Dental Karlin provides tooth replacement and restoration solutions for patients with damaged, missing, or extensively treated teeth. Fixed prosthetic restorations including ceramic crowns protect and rebuild individual damaged teeth with full-coverage restorations that restore function and natural aesthetics. Dental bridges spanning missing tooth positions restore aesthetics and chewing function as a fixed alternative to dentures. Removable denture prosthetics are available for patients whose clinical needs or preferences call for a non-implant solution. Each prosthodontic treatment is designed to integrate accurately with the patient's existing bite and dentition.

Dental Implants

Implant treatment at Dental Karlin offers a permanent, natural-feeling replacement for missing teeth. Titanium implant fixtures are placed surgically into the jawbone where they integrate through osseointegration to provide a stable, long-term root for ceramic crowns, bridges, or prosthetic arches. Implants preserve the jawbone volume that is lost after tooth extraction, maintain the structural integrity of the surrounding teeth, and restore full chewing function and natural smile aesthetics. The clinic manages single-tooth implant cases from diagnostic assessment through to final prosthetic restoration.

Oral Surgery

Oral surgery at the practice covers tooth extractions performed under local anaesthesia on an ambulatory outpatient basis. Routine extractions of decayed, fractured, or non-restorable teeth and the removal of root fragments are managed in-house, with the clinical team applying minimally invasive technique and effective local anaesthesia to ensure patient comfort and support straightforward post-operative healing. Patients requiring more complex surgical interventions are referred to appropriate specialist colleagues.

Dental Hygiene and Teeth Whitening

Professional hygiene appointments provide thorough scaling and polishing to remove calculus and surface staining, fluoride treatment to strengthen enamel, and personalised oral health education. The hygiene service is designed to support each patient's preventive care programme between clinical examinations, maintaining clean tooth surfaces and healthy gums that support the longevity of all dental work. Professional teeth whitening is available for patients seeking a brighter smile, with clinical-grade bleaching delivering safe and noticeably effective results.

Online Booking and Accessibility

Dental Karlin offers online appointment booking, allowing patients to schedule consultations and treatment appointments conveniently without needing to call during reception hours. The clinic is currently accepting new patients, and its Karlin location is accessible by multiple public transport routes, with the Florenc and Krizikova metro stations within walking distance and good tram connections serving the area.

For patients in the Karlin district and the broader Praha 8 catchment seeking a community-located dental practice offering comprehensive preventive, restorative, prosthodontic, implant, and hygiene services for the whole family, Dental Karlin provides quality dental care in the heart of one of Prague's most vibrant and growing neighbourhoods.

Dr. Zapletal is a nice professional and works perfectly with his nurse. I have never had any pain during any treatment, even when I had a more complicated procedure, such as pulling the nerves out of a tooth. I also took my daughter to see him, and that says it all. I can only recommend him.

We went to treat a child's teeth. We arrived exactly on time and waited 40 minutes while she finished working with another patient. Why even write down a specific time? Probably because of the delay, she decided to save time on our child and not wait for the anesthesia to really take effect. From my own experience, I know that doctors usually wait a very long time, at least 10 minutes. They give an injection and then calmly walk away, maybe even longer, but after 3 minutes this one started poking a six-year-old child, who was visiting the dentist for the first time, in the gums and asking if he felt anything. Then she literally started pulling out the tooth alive, it hurt the child, and it was a baby tooth that did not yet have a solid root. In short - she injected the anesthesia only "pro forma", she did not care at all whether it would really take effect, because she was in a terrible hurry, because she was delayed a lot with the previous patient before us. If you care about your own child, find a normal doctor's office and not this butcher shop.

Clinic response ():

Response from the owner 4 months agoHello, We are sorry that you feel this way, but we must categorically disagree with the description of the situation in your review. Our practice is based on precise time management and one of our main priorities is to see patients on time. Delays of 40 minutes are absolutely out of the question and do not happen. We also pay attention to maximum empathy and patience, especially with pediatric patients. We never go beyond the pain threshold and always wait for the full onset of anesthesia, because the child's comfort is our top priority. Our team is not aware of the situation you describe and no record corresponds to this course. If such a situation really occurred, we are very interested in resolving it. Please contact us directly at our email [email protected] so that we can find a specific visit and check everything. For the Dental Karlín Team, Veronika Translated by Google ・ See original (Czech)

First time at the dentist today, on the recommendation of a colleague from work. Relaxed atmosphere, nice waiting room, everything explained at the reception, the hygienist was incredibly gentle and even though it was the first time I had been to dental hygiene, she was done with everything in an hour. We chose a head for my toothbrush, she recommended a good size for me between the dental… the procedure itself and the advice were top notch.

I have only had the best experiences with Dental Karlín. They always try to accommodate me as much as possible and find a date that suits me. Before each procedure, they carefully consult and explain everything, so I am sure that I know exactly what to expect. The doctor is always smiling, first she fixed everything that was necessary and then she also made one cosmetic adjustment that I wanted. Finally, I have the teeth that I always wanted. A big thank you also goes to the young man at the reception, who communicates all the necessary information perfectly. Overall, you really feel in good hands here.

This was my first time at the clinic and it was a very pleasant experience from the start. The reception is helpful, the environment is modern. The dental hygienist was nice, smiling, the procedure itself lasted about an hour and went without any problems. We also talked about the whitening options and other services. I also really appreciate the nice client area and the possibility of purchasing dental supplies right on the spot. I also received recommendations on what would be right for me. Overall, I was satisfied with the visit, I recommend it!

Unprofessional approach and neglect of care!!! My son and I had three check-ups in six months, each time with suspicion of caries. The doctor repeatedly assured us that it was just pigment, without performing an X-ray or a more thorough examination. She also stated in the card that the risk of caries was low. Because I did not like her conclusion, I took my son to my dentist. He immediately confirmed that it was not pigment, but indeed caries. In addition, he revealed suspicions of developmental damage to the molars, which the previous doctor had completely overlooked. The result is a lot of stress, time and the need for treatment under anesthesia. The clinic had bad reviews before, but given its proximity, I wanted to give it a chance, thinking that perhaps it is impossible to make a mistake with children. Constant staff changes and management without a professional background lead to a dismal level of care. Entrepreneurs without a university degree and real estate business activities should not set up clinics.

I really appreciate the behavior of the doctor and the nurse. Pleasant, they show and explain everything. The office is modernly equipped. I liked how, during the initial check-up after the dental X-ray, the doctor showed me the picture on TV and "presented" my teeth to me :D I like to be informed about my condition, and the doctor really liked me both personally and professionally.
