lan had coverage. I had all the requested x-rays taken and scheduled my second appointment. At the second appointment, my x-rays were reviewed, and a cleaning was performed. They offered me a fluoride application for R$50.00, which was not covered by my plan. This application is a standard procedure, normally included in the cleaning itself, but they decided to charge for it separately and at an inflated price. After the cleaning, the doctor informed me that she would evaluate my case with another doctor at the clinic and get back to me to schedule my procedures. The follow-up appointment didn't happen, and after a week I contacted them, where I was told that my treatments wouldn't be 100% covered by my plan. In short, due to the "complexity" of my case, the wisdom tooth removal would cost me R$250 EACH UPPER TOOTH and R$350 EACH LOWER TOOTH. Regarding the root canal, the doctor explained that the clinic used "materials above market standard," therefore they would charge R$300 outside of the plan to perform it. And that if I wasn't satisfied, I could look for another clinic. All this information could have been provided from the start, avoiding the inconvenience of waiting for appointments and unnecessary x-rays. They showed no transparency whatsoever and lied about performing these procedures through the plan. Note: the plan's app clearly states that root canals are covered. I found it disrespectful to someone who has a case that requires prompt treatment to avoid losing a tooth.

We always request X-rays for prior evaluation, as required by the insurance plans, and after careful analysis, we advise the patient on the available options. Wisdom tooth extraction, for example, is usually covered, but in more complicated cases, more complex alternatives may be necessary. Regarding root canal treatment, in more tortuous and complex canals, we use high-quality materials, such as titanium files and modern supplies, which guarantee greater safety, but may generate additional costs when not foreseen by the plan. As for fluoride application, your plan's coverage is only valid for patients up to 15 years old. Therefore, we offer private application in order to optimize treatment. My first experience at the clinic was positive. The receptionist was kind and helpful, and the dentist did a good job on the restoration. The space is small, but beautiful and comfortable. And the idea of having a TV on the ceiling for the patients was brilliant, haha!
