I loved that they took our x-rays right there; the doctor was very professional and kind. The children were so happy because they received a little gift!

The lack of professional ethics demonstrated in this case is concerning. A consultation fee of $110,000 was charged, which included a panoramic X-ray. The patient was informed that the X-ray would be sent to their email address afterward. However, when the patient exercised their right to review the proposed fee and not immediately accept the quoted treatment, the clinic reneged on its initial…

promise and refused to send the X-ray, despite it having been obtained during a consultation that had been fully paid for. This action creates the perception that the delivery of an exam for which the patient had already paid was being conditioned on accepting the treatment, which is contrary to the principles of transparency, good faith, professional ethics, and respect for patient rights. The decision to begin or not begin treatment must be free and informed, without this implying a restriction on access to the results of a procedure that was part of a previously paid service. I request that this decision be reconsidered and that the corresponding panoramic radiograph be sent, in compliance with the conditions offered at the time of the assessment and in observance of the ethical principles that must govern the provision of health services.
