Why Choose Vedra Dental in Sofia?

Sofia holistic dental clinic offering implants, aesthetic dentistry, prosthetics, and biocompatible whole patient care.

Vedra Dental is a private holistic dental clinic in Sofia, Bulgaria, located on Ohrid street in the Banishora neighborhood. Founded in 2003 and led by an experienced founding dentist, the practice has built a strong local reputation as a holistic dental center that treats patients as whole people, not just a set of teeth. Alongside the full range of modern general, restorative, surgical, and aesthetic dental services, the clinic places a special emphasis on the connections between oral health, overall wellbeing, nutrition, and emotional comfort, which makes it a distinctive option for patients who prefer a thoughtful, integrative approach to dental care.

The clinic occupies a calm, professional space designed to feel welcoming from the moment patients arrive. Reception is friendly and helpful, the waiting area is bright and comfortable, and treatment rooms are equipped with modern dental units, digital X ray imaging, intraoral cameras, and high quality instruments. Sterilization and infection control protocols follow strict European standards, with autoclave processed instruments and disposable single use items used throughout every procedure. The atmosphere is intentionally unhurried, which gives the team time to listen, explain options carefully, and tailor each treatment plan to the individual patient.

The lead dentist holds a master's degree from the Medical University of Sofia, completed with honors in 1999, and has additional postgraduate training in dental aesthetics from Denmark. Membership in the Bulgarian Dental Union and the Bulgarian Dental Aesthetic Academy supports a continued commitment to professional development and aesthetic excellence. Consulting specialists in orthodontics, implantology, periodontology, oral surgery, and maxillofacial surgery contribute to complex cases, which means that patients can access advanced multi disciplinary care without having to assemble their own team across different clinics.

What makes Vedra Dental particularly distinctive is its holistic philosophy. The team takes time to understand each patient's general health, lifestyle, nutritional habits, stress levels, and emotional relationship with dentistry before beginning treatment. Where appropriate, biocompatibility considerations are factored into the choice of materials, and patients with systemic health conditions, complex medical histories, or special situations such as pregnancy receive plans that account for their wider circumstances. Smoking cessation support and basic nutritional counseling are also integrated into the care experience for patients who want to address habits that affect both oral and overall health.

General and preventive dentistry forms the daily backbone of the practice. Routine checkups, professional cleanings, scaling, and personalized advice on home care help patients of all ages maintain healthy teeth and gums between visits. Digital diagnostics support early detection of decay, gum problems, and bite issues, allowing the team to address concerns while they are still small and easily managed. Patients are guided through clear, written treatment plans that explain the recommended steps, the timeline, and the cost, so that each person can make confident decisions about their own care.

For patients with cavities, worn teeth, or older restorations that need replacement, the clinic offers tooth colored composite fillings, ceramic inlays and onlays, and full coverage crowns including modern zirconia restorations. Materials are selected for both durability and natural appearance, blending seamlessly with surrounding teeth. Restorative treatments are planned with the long term in mind, so that each filling, inlay, or crown supports the overall health of the bite and the stability of neighboring teeth. When more complex restoration is required, the team coordinates between general dentistry, prosthetics, endodontics, and surgery to deliver a single, well integrated treatment plan.

Endodontic care, or root canal therapy, is offered for patients with deep decay, dental trauma, or persistent dental pain caused by infected or inflamed pulp tissue. Modern instruments and apex locators are used to clean and shape the root canal system precisely, then seal it with high quality materials to prevent reinfection. Endodontic treatment often saves teeth that might otherwise need to be removed, preserving natural function and the integrity of the surrounding bite. Apicoectomy and other endodontic surgical procedures are also available for cases where conventional treatment is not enough on its own.

Implant dentistry is one of the popular services at Vedra Dental. The team handles single tooth replacements, multi unit cases, and more extensive rehabilitations using established implant systems with strong long term clinical track records. Treatment begins with a thorough consultation, full diagnostic imaging, and a careful evaluation of bone, soft tissue, and the patient's overall health. After surgical placement and integration, custom crowns or bridges, often crafted in zirconia, are fabricated and fitted, restoring full chewing function and a natural appearance.

Prosthetic dentistry covers a wide range of solutions for patients who have lost teeth or who need to rebuild a worn or damaged dentition. The clinic provides crowns, bridges, removable partial dentures, full dentures, and implant supported prostheses. Each restoration is custom designed to match the patient's bite, facial proportions, and aesthetic preferences, with materials chosen for strength, biocompatibility, and a natural appearance. Patients are guided through the available options so they can make informed choices about cost, longevity, and the level of intervention they prefer.

Aesthetic dentistry is one of the strengths of the practice. Treatments include professional teeth whitening, composite bonding, ceramic veneers, full smile makeovers, and gum aesthetic procedures that improve the visual harmony of the smile. The team works closely with each patient to understand their goals and to design a smile that looks balanced and natural for their face and personality. Cosmetic plans are discussed transparently, with realistic expectations set from the very first visit, and patients are involved in decisions about shade, shape, and proportion throughout the process. The clinic also describes a smile therapy approach that recognizes the emotional impact of cosmetic dentistry on confidence and quality of life.

Orthodontic care is available for both children and adults, with treatment options that include traditional and modern appliances tailored to the complexity of each case. Each plan begins with a thorough assessment, and the team explains the steps involved, the expected duration, and the maintenance required so that patients can make informed decisions. Throughout treatment, regular adjustments and progress checks help keep the plan on track, and after the active phase is complete, retainers are provided to protect the new alignment for the long term.

Periodontal care, or treatment for gum disease, is taken seriously at Vedra Dental. The clinicians evaluate the health of the gums and supporting bone at each examination, and provide structured treatment plans for patients with gingivitis or more advanced periodontitis. Therapy may include thorough cleaning above and below the gum line, scaling and root planing, and ongoing maintenance visits to keep the condition stable. By addressing gum problems early and consistently, patients can protect their natural teeth and reduce the risk of more serious complications later in life.

For patients who need urgent help, the clinic offers emergency dental care during its long daily working hours, which makes it a practical option for those who develop sudden pain, broken teeth, or lost restorations. The team is comfortable communicating in English and Russian as well as Bulgarian, which makes the clinic a welcoming option for both local residents and international patients. With deep aesthetic expertise, a holistic philosophy, modern equipment, and a calm, thoughtful environment, Vedra Dental aims to deliver dentistry that is precise, careful, and centered on the long term wellbeing of every patient.

I was so scared because my cheek was totally swollen up and I thought something might go wrong. Vedra Dental moved my appointment 1 hour earlier, and the dentist not only removed my wisdom tooth skillfully but also calmed my nerves, I even cried from fear when he gave the first anesthesia! 😅 One day later, my cheek is much less swollen now, I feel better, and the pain is gone. I am truly grateful for the care, kindness, and professionalism. The staff speaks excellent English, which made everything so much easier and comforting. What a relief! ✨ May God bless you with everything you wish for in life, and may you continue helping many maaaaany others with the same warmth and care🙏 I’m gonna stop writing now, or I’ll cry again, but this time from relief, not fear 😭 Just a big thank you! 🌟

I've been coming here for years, but now they charge 100 euro for teeth cleaning. The website quotes half this price. I won't be coming back.

I visited the clinic for the first time right on Christmas Day, December 25, because my son had a toothache. I was very pleased with Dr. Georgieva and the nurse. Very attentive, responsive. They immediately accepted us and helped without rushing even though it was a holiday. My son is very happy and only wants me to take him here. And the prices are normal. Thank you to the team for saving us during the holidays.

I had to seek emergency dental care due to a broken tooth. I could book an appointment for the same day. The receptionist and the dentist were very friendly and the dentist spoke excellent English. They do not have equipment to take 3D pictures, so he requested me to go to The Dental Lab. The pictures would be then send to him by the lab. He said he’ll call me once he got the pictures to determine what would be the next steps. He never called. I emailed the clinic and still no word. Since I had to act quickly, I luckily found another clinic who are up for the job. I feel this is not appropriate behaviour for a medical clinic who has responsibility for their patients. Luckily the tooth can be saved and I only need a canal root treatment. The cedar doesn’t have equipment nor skills necessary to handle implants.

Answered questions via WhatsApp in advance with a rough cost estimation (which was very accurate) and an appointment with very short notice. I have a phobia of needles and he was great, listened to me, speaks high-level English and dealt with me well. Over a month later and my gum has healed up fantastically.

A 24-hour dental clinic that doesn't open at 6:00 PM!? After calling, they explained to me that I should have called in advance. I replied that I was calling now and was ready to wait as long as necessary, but they replied that they could make an appointment for me for tomorrow because my colleagues had been there since early in the morning. This is anything but a 24-hour clinic. Disappointing

I have had the most fantastic treatment, start to finish - the whole team are absolutely incredible - gentle, understanding, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Travelling to Bulgaria from the UK in desperate need of serious dental treatment - root canal, couple of crowns, multiple fillings that needed replacing, composite bonding on the top front four teeth (due to microdontia - I am 30 years of age and no dentist has ever mentioned that to me before, and believe me when I say that I've had more than enough dental appointments for a lifetime ). My treatment took just over two weeks. It has been over year and a half since I've had my treatment and I am still over the moon with my smile and the fabulous job that the whole team did. Whatever I say would not be enough to express my gratitude to the whole team at Vedra Dental. Thank you

I was speaking in English all weekend with the dentist, because I had an infection in my wisdom tooth. He gave me an appointment but when I go, a dentist who speaks Bulgarian sees me. It was a disaster because the only way to communicate was with the translator in my phone and still the doctor couldn't understand me.

The prices are determined by eye according to the patient and are very high! In two visits they were unable to explain what they had done or write it down as my request was! I absolutely do not recommend!
